Skinnytaste.com is another good site.

I log everything on my phone app MyFitnessPal. I have since 6mths before surgery. They have a neat scanner to scan food packaging for all necessary info. It's how I keep track of getting my 60gr of Protein and staying at my allotted calories. If you start having trouble that will be the first question asked, are you tracking? Good luck!

Starting Pre-Op diet tomorrow Anyone Else
Maddysgram replied to Ms.Millie's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
By hanging out here you will find all Drs are different on the rules. Hence the statement you'll hear a lot on this forum, "follow your Drs orders".lol Some ppl have 2wks of liquid, some like me had no pre op diet. Some atkins & some sugar busters. We all different, but the same. Best wishes to you on your journey! And yes, we can all do this! -
6 month diet......before surgery.....
Maddysgram replied to bunchlane1's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had the 6mth diet too. I spent every day of that 6mths here on this forum learning from the best. The time went by really fast and it was a good feeling going into it knowing you've done everything possible to succeed. Read a couple books on LBS too.lol Also during that 6mths I put into practice the LB rules and I truly believe it gave me a head start on success. Wishing you the best on your journey. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. -

No one said you were complaining about your band. Your only problem is with the "old timers"and I Do Not think you're being fair on that part. But everyone is in titled to their own opinion, after all this is an OPEN forum. Best wishes to you! -

I am not following you. You just happen to be on the threads I go on. Yes, I did check out your profile, just like I do everyone else. Nothing personal. I did just get banded in Oct but have been on this forum for 7mths everyday before that. Got myself a really good on line education from the "old timers"are about how the band works & doesn't work. Their support has gotten me to where I am today and I owe them my love and adoration. I wish you the best on your new journey, if you have a problem with me please feel free to block me. -
Hi, nice to find you all! Just set my surgery date, and I am a petrified little weenie!

Welcome Nicki, you have come to the right place for support, knowledge & inspiration. I can imagine how freaked out you must be. Most of us have had months to freak out.lol. What I'm saying is its normal whether you're a nurse or not. This is a new life you're starting. Follow your Drs instructions and you will be fine. Lots of nurses here so you're covered there too.lol Best wishes for better health! -

Sommers, most likely you have not had enough fills to hit your green zone yet. This is the time it's all about you doing it. I was banded 10/15/12 and have 1 fill of 3cc, not in green zone either. I've been on a strict diet for 6mths so starting this journey I already had the counting calories and the one cup rule already in place so I have been able to continue to loose. I read a post of a newbie telling other newbies they will never see the weight they lost on pre op diet again and that is not true. When you go from liquid diet & transition back to real food, you most likely will gain some or be stuck at the same weight until your body adjjust. So just hang in there and follow the plan, it WILL start to come off. Best of health to you! -
This is a gift you're giving to your family. They deserve a healthier you!

Dang girl, you look awesome! Congratulations! I can't even imagine anything below a 12, that's what I wore in HS 40 yrs ago.

Hi Smiles, you're going to do great. Just follow your Drs orders and everything will be fine. Post any questions you need answers to. BTW- take Chapstick to hospital. Lips get terribly dry.

Port Incision Painful and Hard
Maddysgram replied to Pebbagirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For 7wks my port site would bulge in and out and even now at 9 wks every once in awhile it will. Especially when I'm doing a lot of bending. Still gets just a little sore too. The port is sewn into a muscle and that swells up & down for a while. That will be the site that takes the longest to heal. As long as the incision is not red,or infected you should be ok. On Monday just give your Drs office a call for reassurance. -

Sorry you're going through this, but I'm sure she'll come around when she see's you getting healthier. If you're like most of us, yes we can lose the weight on our own, we just can't keep it off and yoyo dieting is very bad on your health. We'll still be here to support you!

You didn't offend anyone, we were wondering where you went. I thought I scared you. You can ask any questions you want to ask, just be sure you're going to get an honest answer. Just keep reading the threads and you'll start to see why some are not losing weight and you'll also see the one's that do and how they do it.

LOL, maybe I scared her by saying "this post will set off a fire storm"
