Will get banded on 12/17/12
Maddysgram replied to barry10282's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Best wishes for a smooth surgery & speedy recovery barry! Check back in with us and lets us know how it went. -
Congratulations and welcome to the forum! Let the fun begin. It will get fun when your pants start drooping and blouses fall off your shoulders. I just had fun taking a whole bag of clothes to goodwill. I did make sure to save my biggest pair. I want to be one of those ladies that can stick both legs in one pant leg. Can you imagine?! Like any adventure though, there will be ups and downs. Nice thing is though, we'll be right here helping you through it.

That's a funny thing b/c I thought my Dr didn't order a pre op diet for everyone b/c I didn't have to do one and found out later yes he does.He just didn't feel I needed one. Another girl was in hospital room next to me and we were talking on one of our walks and she had the two week liquid diet. I had been dieting for 6mths though. Back to what you're doing. He must have a reason why he wants you on a liquid diet and you best do want he says. You don't want him to open you up and then close you without the band. That does happen. Get back on your diet, one time most likely won't hurt, but I wouldn't take any more chances. Best Wishes!

Have you checked in with your bariatric surgeon or maybe talk with a nutritionist? When you say 2.5 is that cc's in your band? If it is what size band do you have? -
Congratulations! That's wonderful!

I have that book also. What have you made out of it? I haven't made anything yet. The scallops on the front look yummy.

The only one I know of (not personally) is a woman that went to Mexico and something went horribly wrong. That being said, Just this week a 16yo boy in town died while having a tonsillectomy. I tell you this b/c there is a risk in any surgery you have. My Dr told me I had a bigger risk of dying from obesity related causes than having LB. surgery. -
love my fitbit

I just got the Fitbit one.To 2012, I wear mine all day and night. I always have trouble sleeping and the first time I wore it to bed it said I woke up 22 times in 6hrs. It measures how many steps you take, stairs you climb, calories burned. It sync's with computer and cell phone and once a week it sends a update to your email on how well you did. I also bought one for my daughter who is thin and always working out.LOL Congrats Smiles! You can keep the snow!

My sister had gastric bypass and she said it freaked her out. Enjoy the attention after all the hard work you have done you deserve it.

Don't be nervous. For one thing they want you to understand completely what you're getting yourself into. If you need further council b/c of some deep seeded problem that needs to be resolved before banding. They also give you like a 300 questionare that you answer from 1 to 5, 1 being not at all up to 5 most definitely. They throw trick questions in to make sure your paying attention. Like, I love shooting with bows and arrows lol Just be yourself and honest, you'll do fine.

I just use the 1cup rule and am done no matter what, but I'm one of the lucky one's that have a nerve by band that shoots excruciating pain into neck & shoulder that tells me to stop. But sometimes it could be a sigh, cough or sneeze. Have you noticed anything like that?

Congratulations & continued success! You look marvelous
