Spent most the day with Ange. We went to Hobby Lobby (always means $$$$$). Then took her to grocery shop at Jack's store and couldn't find him, duh, his day off. Ange took me to Carrabba's (my fave) for BD lunch, so good. chicken Marsala split between us. Tomorrow, Ange and Evan having a pool party for me. I am so blessed, not only for my great kids, but great friends right here. I truly could not ask for anything more than I already have. Thank you all for your never ending support! How did I ever survive without you? Oh ya, I didn't. It wasn't until you came into my life that I began to live. Love you all!

How am I supposed to sleep
Maddysgram replied to journeyofkeisha's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The worst of the pain usually only last 48hrs. When you get tired enough, you will sleep. Hang in there! Congratulations fellow bandster! -

PRE-OP NEWBIE- Surgery is MONDAY August 3rd! NEED EXPERT ADVICE!
Maddysgram replied to Live4life's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First of all Monday is August 5, lol You must be nervous.... Relax and follow your Drs plan, you'll do great. Nerves are very normal. The first 6wks are for healing purposes, not so much weight loss. The most important thing at this stage is keeping hydrated. Follow your stages. Once I got to mushies, ff greek yogurt, Protein shakes, mushy black Beans are all high in protein. I'd make a Taco Soup with ground turkey and lots of beans and blenderize that add a dollop of ff plain greek yogurt and yummy. I never heard of thd butter thing and I wouldn't try it. Best thing is to let it work itself out, imho After you're stuck, anything you add on top of it only makes it worse. Good luck! -
Good Friday Morning Everyone! Hope everyone has a great start to the weekend. I have to make a trip to DMV, remembered yesterday while going threw a speed trap, my tag expires Sunday. Glad I got a wake up call. ttyl

I heard that!!! Where's a bathroom??? lol I love Peach tea also. -
Terri, loved your Winter story. It fits the way I've been thinking lately. Where has the time gone????? Thank you for the big hug in my birthday card. Loved it! Di, I wish I lived down the street from you too. Sending a big tight cyber hug your way. It is terribly hard watching our momma's wasting away. And then it will be our kids turn to watch us. I really don't want them to have to go through that, but what can we do, its apart of life. Paula actually cries when she thinks about getting older, only b/c she is so afraid of what will happen to Maddy when she can't take care of her. That's when we have to go back to living one day at a time, sometimes its one hour at a time. (((((((((Di))))))))) Carole, I couldn't remember if it was this Friday or last Friday for Jodi's ceremony. See I resemble Terri's story... I thought of you and Jack all day and my heart goes out to the both of you. Baby or not, we will get together in November. ((((((((((Carole & Jack)))))))) ((((((((Dawn, Skinny Mini, Dee, Terri)))))))) You all mean so much to me. I'm thinking when I get my new knee's, we need to meet up somewhere, fun.....

LOL, I can't start my day without my HC and stevia, Terri. Well, I finally did it. I have an appt Monday morning with my orthopedic surgeon. I'm tired of living every day and night with pain. Wanting my knee's fixed before my granddaughter gets here. I believe it will help also with my weight loss, which is now only about 2 lbs a month @ 1000 cal. I have got to be able to walk and get my metabolism going. I was hoping to get to 150 lbs and all my knee trouble go away, like with Di, but I just can't do it anymore. So, whose coming to take care of me? lol I prayed and prayed for the right answer, make sure I was doing the right thing and this morning on my fave radio station, Tony Dungee (football coach) always gives and encouraging thought. Today it was about praying for something and trying to figure out God's will and that was me. Anyways, he said to follow your heart, that is God's will. So that is what I'm doing. My heart wants to be whole again.. Yesterday I saw my reflection in the glass door of post office, as I was walking in. I loved the look of my new body, it look pretty good, no longer morbidly obese. But my gait was awful, I was walking like I had a loaded diaper. Not in diaper mode yet. Lately I have yelled out just bending knee to get into my own car. Enough already!!!! I know I can count on you all for support. I feel like when I made the decision for LBS, excited for a new life and nervous about what I'm getting myself into. This surgery is not easy. So, whats new in your lives??? I'm glad I've got you all.

Carole, Forget my whole above post. Just on FB and read about Sushi. I am so sorry for the your loss. Big cyber hugs my friend!
-
I usually sip a diet hot chocolate and that keeps me happy.

Just finished cutting the rest of the yards and yards of fabric, but I am done, YEAH. I swear, it has taken me over 10 hrs. I have two ducks living in my swamp/garden and its still raining. Guy from county said they were going to come and clean out the ditches soon, we'll see... Dee, Happy Charlie is back home and I'm sure he will do very well with his life changes, with you there to help him. God knew how much you and the boys needed him. Does he have type 2 Diabetes? Big cyber hugs to you my friend! Di, Always good to hear from you. Glad mom is adjusting to things. It's funny that you call your spare living space a "Florida room". I thought that was just a Florida thing.lol Continue taking care of yourself! Terri, I don't like coffee either. I usually have a diet hot chocolate every morning, it goes down really well. Maybe if I do really really well with my weight, by Jan I will fit in a trunk. Port Everglades here I come.... Never heard of Port Everglades... Ange's baby is due Oct 28. She had a Drs appt today and he told her the leaking was normal. Skinny mini, Shrinky Dink, hope you have fun at the game! Dawn, Is it this weekend for Brad? Hows the back? Have you beat the crap out of the chocolate lady yet? Carole, Did you get to see the waterspouts around you? I'm free on Friday if you can meet somewhere? I really don't mind the ride to St.Pete. How's Sushi? Whats your other dogs name and is it the same age as Sushi?

Incisions itching
Maddysgram replied to msidders79's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Your right, you're healing. My Dr wouldn't let me use anything. Said to just keep it dry and clean. Give your Dr a call, some let you use benadryl cream. -
Dawn, You always make me lol, "shrinky dink".... You and twin are sure two of a kind. Ange is 27wks. She see's her OB tomorrow. Last week was the high risk Dr, this week the OB who will do the c section. They're keeping a really good eye on her. My plans this weekend include laying around Ange's pool. Keep your fingers cross, I have tried to this the last 3wks and something always comes up. Poor Paula and kids had no A/C all day. Brand new unit and it has gone out a few times already. They finally came out at 7pm and fixed it. I've been continuing to quilt the top of baby quilt, 1/2 done and I just started cutting out the gazillion yards of fabric for Ange's queen size quilt. Terri has turned me into a quilting fool. OK, I was already a fool, she just gave me the itch to do what I have always wanted to do and finally have the time, sorta. Carole, Sorry to hear about Sushi, hoping the extra Lasix will do the trick. I bet it nice to see the family again. Enjoy! Hey Shrinky Dink, your c twin is a nut. Still waiting on the piano concert...... Dee, I'm hoping Charlie gets to come home soon. How's the band doing with all your stress? hugs Terri, I am like you. My band is very tight in the morning. I have to drink something hot, to get down my Prilosec, which I open the capsule and still manage to get a little stuck. Breakfast comes between 10:30 -11 am, so I make it brunch and then have an early dinner. Is it to early to start asking to be stowed away in your steamer trunk? Di, Hope everything is as well as can be expected with you.May God give you the strength to endure this time in your life. I need to go to sleep soon. TTYL Love to all

Good Tuesday Morning! I hope everyone has a great day. BBL

Terri, Is January the big cruise for your anniversary?
-
Checking in late... Yes, got the txt from Dee, so glad Charlie got to the ER before it was too late. Continued prayers for a quick recovery. Minimi, You go girl!!!!! You're going to be skinny mini before long. Sounds like fun was had by all. Carole, wherever you are, thanks for the info on what to send to the troops. Continue prayers for Seth's safe return. I love helicopter flying.... Dawn, Hope you're mgetting some relief with your body, before Brad comes to town. Di, Like I told Angela, when she was thinking of selling her house and buying a new one, "if it was meant to be, it will be easy". Sold her house the first day on market and found her new one within that same week. Prayers with you!Dee, Great big cyber hugs for you dear!

Three years post op and not as pleased with results....
Maddysgram replied to Crispaholic's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Couldn't have said it any better than Elcee. Thats whats so great about the band, you can start over. -
Di, Don't be yourself up. I agree with both Carole and Dawn. Stress is just as exhausting as pain. Talk with your hub and explain what your going through. Tell him you need him to be your soft spot to fall upon. Minimi, So proud of you!!!! Dee, Continued thoughts and prayers. Terri, Was thrilled when I got a quilting pattern for new baby quilt, in the middle of the night.lol Loving my Janome, makes quilting so much easier. It was well worth the price. Can't believe you do not use the knee lift..... Ange & Evan came by and took me to dinner.Ange said she broke 140 lbs. Her normal weight is between 115 and 120. She looks good.
