Going to talk to the doctor about the band...
Maddysgram replied to TheDuchess's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I suggest you call or email insurance co and see what their terms are. They all are different. That's what I did, had answers in 24hrs. I wanted surgery in 2009, but my ins didn't cover it. So yes it was easier now.lol Good luck! -
I can eat sandwiches too. Only on whole wheat toasted with a Morning Star Prime griller.mmmmmm!

Great post Kime-lou. I've gotten myself in trouble a few times b/c of my need to defend who & what I believe in. I've apologized and learn to block. Not only is the band a learning process, but learning social media is too. Sometimes someone can be coming off as rude and uncaring when that is the farthest thing from that persons intent. I personally get great joy sharing what works for me or things I've experienced. I would not be here if it was only to pick out ppls mistakes. That is not what makes me happy. Thank you for reminding us all to live & learn in a positive way!

New Pain post op day 5
Maddysgram replied to finallytime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Could be gas, could be nerve pain. After surgery nerves have to heal too. I 'm one that has nerve pain, it even lets me know when to stop eating and its very painful. I'm told in time it could heal, but in some it is what it is. I'd call your office back and ask them, just to give you peace of mind. They make the big money, make them earn every cent.lol -
I wanted it, I got it, but it's bittersweet?
Maddysgram replied to BandedBettyBoop's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like vlp there is no right or wrong answer. Everyone has to feel comfy in the own skin. I am like TMF, so happy to have my clothes not so tight, it hurts. Right now my jeans that fit 3wks ago can be pulled off without unbuttoning, I love it! It's confirmation that I'm working it.YEAH! Chez suggested a ring guard, which I have always had on all my rings. My hands swell up & down all day. The guards are cheap. You can't tell they're there. I got mine at jewelry store. Shopping for new clothes, day after Christmas you will get unbelievable bargains almost like thrift stores. I started at tight 24 and now baggy 18. I'm loving it! Have fun shopping! -
I got a 6 page report. It did say I was introverted. Ya right!lol

For me it was WANTPOWER . I want to be healthy just once in my life more than I want to eat. I stick to 1000 cal 60gr protein 1/4c veggies 1/4 good carbs and at least 64oz of water. I dieted for 7mths before having surgery and I really think that got the cravings out of me. I'm a true believer that the more sugar you eat ,the more you'll crave it. 9wks out and I really don't have craving. If I get hungry between meals I'll either drink a lot of water, have some hot tea or sf hot chocolate and that seems to satisfy me until next meal. If that doesn't work I will have some greek yogurt. In "Bandster Hell" to me is mind over matter. Best of luck with your journey!

Sorry you're having so many problems. I hope you can find some answers. So it's your PA that gives you your fills? Keep us posted on what you find out, it could help someone else. Good Luck!
-
Well I didn't take Biotin and I'm 9wks out, so I think I'll try the butter and hope for the best. I also heard that it doesn't last forever and hair grows back. Hope that's right too. Very thin fine hair here,LOL

Congratulations! I'm working on getting there soon too. Keep up the great job.

CG must have missed your post, but if you look at her signature right above her dogs, you will see she has taken off 88lbs in 6mths. I'm so proud of her, but don't tell her. Her head gets too big.LOL Everyone is different when it comes to fills. I now a lady who lost 100lbs before she needed a fill and then there's some who have need multiple fills to hit their green zone. The secret is sticking to that 1 cup rule, 3oz protein each meal and always eat that first and if there's any room left 1/4c veggies 1/4 good carbs. Drinking at least 64 oz of fluid a day. I have only had 1 fill at 3cc and not in green zone yet, but I'm losing nicely by living the LB rules. My Dr told me that on average it takes between 4 & 7.5cc to get to green zone. I'm counting on green zone to keep me from gaining the weight back. I wish you all the best on your journey! -
Best part is, they send you a copy of their psych eval so you have it in writing. Booya!

Nerves are normal. Glad you have family members for inspiration. I too have a problem thinking I could be a normal size. But I'm almost half way there.Dreams do come true!

It is really good to have a Dr back you up on that one.LOL Every time I hear "are you crazy" dr said I wasn't so there.

Most ppl can't feel their band, most likely it is your port. Even after you're fully healed, you will be able to feel it. I tease my family and say "do you want to feel something gross?" ,I always get an ewww no.lol

Starving! I swear Thurs can't get here quick enough
Maddysgram replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was told to have a minimum of 60gr a day and to eat the protein first and if there's room left then veggies, good carb -
Hi guys, it does take 6wks to really heal and longer for port site to not be sore. BTW I've even had the same squeezing feeling in stomach after my first fill that lasted 2 1/2 wks. Just for future reference.

I had googled this some time back and read the same thing honk said, excessive amounts of protein can lead to kidney stones.
