Maddysgram replied to Stephleupagus's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I guarantee at 10wks (which I am) you'll be saying best decision you've ever made. My clothes are falling off me daily. Follow your Drs orders and your clothes will start falling off too, only thing is this time it will stay off. Happy with my band! -
Happy boxing day, are you from England? My mum always talking about boxing day. It would be easier to list food I didn't like, than what I do. My son-in-law is a one thing on his plate kinda guy too.lol I too can't wait for onelander, right behind you potty mouth! lol

Congratulations! April will be here before you know it. Hang out here and learn all you can before then . Knowledge is power. Good luck on your new journey to better health! -
I truly believe it. You are what you believe yourself to be. You keep telling yourself you're a failure, you're going to fail. I know it's biblical, but can't think of the scripture right now. Talk it into exsistence, whether good or bad. I believe!

What a liberating moment for me!
Maddysgram replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My closet was holding sizes 24 to 14. I have been getting rid of them so fast it's unbelievable. Getting ready to get rid of 18's. It's happening faster than I thought it would. I kept one pair of 24 jeans just for comparison when I hit goal. Notice I said "when" not if.lol This surgery is the best gift I have ever given myself and I' m excited for you to start this journey too. Right now, I'm wearing my happy pants. Best Wishes on your new life of health & wellbeing! -

That was really cool, congratulations! -
Hi and welcome to the forum. Quite a few folks get hiccups as a sign they are full. Is it possible you're overeating? I get shoulder pain when I'm nearing full and if I take even one more bite,it becomes severe. Some ppl cough , get a runny nose or just sighs. All little signs of being full. If you don't think that is it, it's time to see your Dr. Good luck!

Trouble getting water in???
Maddysgram replied to errikadb's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are still swollen from surgery, so you will not be able to drink as much, just for awhile. I found I was trying to drink too much too , when I was first banded, made me feel horrible . Just continued sipping all day until swelling goes down. I found out warmer drinks go down easier, warm herbal tea & sf hot chocolate. Happy Holiday's! -
My goal for 2013 is to take off 40 more lbs as quick as possible , so I can get 2 new knee's and really start living again. I'm so excited to see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Just thought of another thing that might help. Go to Success Stories & read others accounts and go look at before & after pictures too.

Sorry you're feeling this way! I can't help you b/c not from Brooklyn, but maybe can phone your LB surgeons office and ask them. My Dr has a support group that meets once a month. But I enjoy the support here much more. This is a 24/7 group. Good luck in finding your mojo! Happy Holidays!

If you had your first alcholic drink...
Maddysgram replied to finallytime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to agree with Floridays, 10 days post-op is a little too soon. Congratulations on not touching all the goodies you're making! You're at a critical time right now, stomach is still healing from surgery. They'll be plenty of Christmas to celebrate in the future with portion control. Take care of you now. -
Day after christmas surgery date.
Maddysgram replied to pattyd87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
LOL, I understand now. You need a bad case of the flu, not really but pretend. Keep a glass of Water in bathroom and keep running in there and loudly pour it into toilet while making gagging sounds, or just say you don't feel well and don't think you can eat. Thoughts & prayers will be with you! God Bless you too! -

Question about 6mo supervised diet-aetna
Maddysgram replied to d9leigh's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I had Aetna and the 6mth supervised diet and I tried to keep an even keel. Afraid to lose too much and afraid not to lose enough. I did lose a couple pounds per month and I think I did gain one month. In total I lost 20 lbs before being approved. After that I really got serious while waiting for surgery date and have been serious since. Whatever you do, do not miss one month, not even by a couple of days, or they make you start again. My PCP went on vacation and my last appt was the end of July and the next one was going to be the first week of Sept b/c of his vacation and the Bariatric Office had a fit and had to have someone filling in for Dr to see me in the month of August. I had one week to see my Drs back up and everything turned out ok. Best of luck!
