Congratulations & welcome to the forum! Glad you're doing well. Post often so we can get to know you. Good luck on your new journey!

Yep, we've all been there, done that.lol Evidentually it will get better, but until then like TMF said, stick to Drs plans and fill those hunger pangs with water, sf hot chocolate, decafe tea or any other allowable fluid. Good Luck!

Smells really got to me when I was first banded, any smell not just food. The nausea could also be a sign of dehydration so make sure you're getting enough fluid. Call your Dr if you are not feeling well, they git paid the big bucks for taking care of you. Best Wishes!

Banjo gave you some good advice. It took me every day for a week to understand my way around here.lol Feel free to PM me and if I can't answer your questions, I'll find someone who can. Good Luck!

No, all that throwing up is not good. Please call your Dr . The amount of your fill really makes no difference with others. Some ppl need no fill, while others need a total fill 10-14cc. You have to listen to your body and do what is right for you. Good Luck & Happy New Year!

(((((samskiles))))) We know this is painfull for you and we can't take that pain away, but we are here to help you through it. Everyone is right, this is your time. The time to make you healthy and no one can do that but you. Do what is best for you right now. You're young and taking part in a life changing surgery, it's going to be so amazing for you. The darkest hour means dawn is just in sight. Something good is coming your way. Months before my surgery, actually Easter morning, I was praying for God to just let me die. I had a bad car accident and I couldn't stand the pain anymore. Months and months of treatments made no difference. I was faced with living the rest of my life in agony. Since my insurance deductible was met I decided to get LB surgery, my only hope of relieving pain. Jan 10 is 1 yr anniversary of accident and I'm so blessed to be alive. I have a life again. I know your pain is just as real as my pain was to me, but having this surgery is going to be a blessing to you, just as it was to me. Don't let anyone or anything take that from you. God Bless

You're the first I've heard of with this complication. Really sorry you have had this happen. What does Dr say about losing your spleen as far as long term? Really, really sorry!

It's still early for me (3mths), but really pleased too, and one look at Floridays stats gives me a lot of hope. -
Lol, I had that same choice and asked my Dr " what do I know". He told me that the Allergan Lapband has more restriction from the get go than Realize, so I picked Allergan b/c I'm in a hurry to get knee replacement. But like Missy said, Allergan just recently went up for sale, so I don't know how that will change things. I'd talk to surgeon about the company selling out and get his opinion. Good luck!

I'm from Englewood, south of you. I have a friend in Winter Haven, a cashier at Publix. Crackers were not on my allowable list in liquid stage. They might get mushy in soup and turn to gummy flour balls in pouch. If it wasn't on your list, I wouldn't do it without asking surgeon. Gas is very normal after banding, matter of fact, I don't think it ever really goes away.lol You will find a lot of helpful advice, support and inspiration on this forum. A lot of great people. BTW, congratulations for being on the banded side. Best Wishes for success! Post often and Happy New Year! -
That's where my port is and yes stays sore for quite some time. Where's your port?

8 cal no sugar I don't see why not, unless a lot of caffiene which is a diuretic and dehydrate you. If so, drink twice as much water.

LOL, I grew up with parents that demanded plate to be cleaned or no dessert. Dad worked at a large bakery that made products for grocery stores.Brought home cakes & pies every night . 56 yrs later and the rest is history. Though to parents defense, they grew up during the war in England when food was rationed. Waste not, want not. lol

Welcome to the forum! Glad you joined us. Happy New Year! -
There would be no drama here if everyone follows Alex's( administrator) rules. Pass up or block, so simple really.
-
It's obvious you have a problem with a poster and may I suggest the forum rule goes " if you don't like a post either 1) ignore 2) block poster. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on an open forum, but personal attacks are not tolerated. Sometimes can get you kicked off.

You're 2 1/2 wks post op, a time for healing ,not losing. When you go from liquids to real food, your body has adjusting to do. Don't fret, follow Drs orders you will start losing again. Second, at 2 1/2 wks and still healing until your 6wks, you need to make sure Dr oks your workouts. I was only allowed to walk for 6wks. No heavy lifting.

well said, Cheryl!

The Best Thing about Lap Band and New Years
Maddysgram replied to Mayasgram's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Mayasgram, wondering where you were. In the past I never made a resolution b/c I knew I would break it, why bother. This year I'm so excited. Still not going to make resolution, but not b/c of past failure, but b/c I know I already have what it takes to succeed.YAY! I too, want everyone to succeed with their bands. So may everyone have a healthy, happy 2013!
