Hope you don't have that dreaded flu going around. There is also a stomach bug around with diarrhea. Glad your seeing your Dr. tomorrow. Get better!
-
Red zone- you're too tight and you need an unfill. Yellow zone- you don't have enough restriction and you need a fill.
-
Being in the green zone means having just enough restriction that keeps you satisfide 4-5 hrs. between your lap band meals.
-
Sorry you're having problems. Hopefully they can get you squared away and healed .

Trying not to be frustrated
Maddysgram replied to finallytime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
((((((finallytime)))))))) Hang in there Dear. The weight will start to come off. You do need to stay off the scale for awhile and like Love said, take your measurements. This is going to work for you, give it time! -
A disturbing article
Maddysgram replied to wozzicat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally agree with Love. As she said there are complications in any surgery. I'm currently waiting for knee replacement . My ortho Dr wants me to be 60 y o b/c of complications after 20yrs. I'm 56 and as soon as I loose 40lbs that knee is being fixed b/c my quality of life is the pits. Well the same goes for LBS, being morbidly obese was going to kill me. I've talked with my PCP ,Cardiologist & surgeon and they all thought the LB would save my life. I'm not too worried about this article. Like it said, it's from along time ago, not a very large population being followed and a very small study. I would think that most of the 50% complications would have been from non compliance of patients. Like Love said, speak with your Drs and get their input. -
I never got the shoulder pain from gas after surgery, but now I have a nerve pain in shoulder that tells me when I've had enough to eat. You do not want to eat one extra bite the second you get a twinge.

thoughts on using a surgeon not registered with lapband.com?

PS. My PCP referred me to my surgeon and he was also within my insurance providers. -
did you "fall off the bandwagon" this holiday season?
Maddysgram replied to sylviau's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I stayed to the program through the holiday's. I'm glad you got back on the wagon, good for you. Being that taking "breaks" while dieting in the past, is what stopped me from taking a break through the holiday's. We have to look at every holiday differently. The holiday's no longer mean a feeding frenzy. I did the " I celebrate with food and start again Monday", but come Monday there was always an excuse to wait until the following Monday etc etc... 274 lbs later it was timefor me to learn, celebrations do not have to revolve around food. Now it's about family, friends and good times together. They can have crap, while I eat health. Glad you experienced how crappy junk makes you feel. -
thoughts on using a surgeon not registered with lapband.com?
Maddysgram replied to aviva1979's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
My Dr was registered years ago and all his info is really old. I keep meaning to tell him to update it. Does the Dr you PCP told you about offer free seminars? I found that helpful in meeting him and asking a lot of questions, like how long have you been doing LBS, what's your qualifications etc.. I think some Drs really don't care whether they're registered or not.IMO -
Does sound like you might need a slight unfill. Remember we're not really suppose to take1hr to eat, just 20min. Call your Dr, please!

You'll be fine. The nerves are all normal. You're almost there Best Wishes!

Help guys -- Band or Sleeve? I'm scheduled for band Feb.1
Maddysgram replied to outlaw's topic in The Guys’ Room
I agree with Chez, the MAJORITY of LB failure is non compliance. Yes, there are a FEW that the band failed them. That being said, there is a lot of failure with all WLS. My sister had Gastric Bypass and she failed it. No matter what surgery you choose, you will have to change your lifestyle. So if you have to change it no matter which surgery, why would you not go for the least invasive? I'm glad you're doing all your research and I wish you the best, no matter which you choose. -

Internal Stitching in Lapbanding - Dr. Dolan
Maddysgram replied to sakwilla's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was stitched both band and port. Sorry to say that my port just flipped and having revision surgery 1/23. -
I was bruised for 2wks with first fill. 2nd fill I was poked 10 times and very little bruising. Go figure!
-
I use Ducolax Balance, not a laxative, but like a fiber supplement, only it doesn't thicken and you can add it to any drink. Tasteless and clear. Ask your Dr what he recommends for you.

I have to say my bill went up, only b/c my husband eats a lot of junk food and I have to cook seperate meals for he and myself. Junk food + healthy = $$$$ If only he would eat healthy!

No Pre-op Diet... Liver too big?
Maddysgram replied to CatLady0626's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have a pre op diet, but I had lost 20lbs prior. I'm sure if your Dr thought there would be a problem, he would have ordered you one. Good Luck on your journey! -
I did the 6mth supervised diet and lost 20lbs and my Dr wouldn't set date until my final insurance approval, which came in exactly 1 wk from submitting all my info. Surgery was scheduled 2wks later, but due to my grandaughter being in the hospital, I had to wait another month.

I didn't even know it. I went for 2nd fill and after 10 attempts I had to go have x-ray and it was flipped completely over. Dr tried to manually turn it but a no go, so having revision surgery soon.
