I think most of use here are/were compulsive over eaters.lol Until you receive adequate fills for restriction you will still want to go back to your old way of eating, it's what we call "bandsters hell". It's like your title says, right now it's mind over matter. It's the time we have to make up our mind not to over eat. My Dr promises me, that when you hit the green zone(enough restriction) , the band will help us with our problems. I think it is good to check out OA until you get a handle on this. Also come here and join this support group regularly. We'll talk you off the ledge.lol Good Luck on your journey to good health!

Oh I know you were just venting, I didn't get you wrong. I pretty much was just venting my frustration too, lol. I get you! One day soon I will walk and like CG said "wave when you pass me". We'll get there!

Congratulation fellow bandster! Take care through the healing stages! -
You go girl! Keep doing what you're doing and it will work out..

I'm just the opposite, I love walking. I love being outside, love being by myself b/c I can think without someone interupting. I've lost 100's of lbs just by walking in the past. For the last 3yrs I have not been able to walk. I need double knee replacement and that is the reason for LBS. Since I can't walk to lose weight and I need to lose weight for an easier replacement. Catch 22! Follow your Drs plan, he's not trying to punish you and you will be at the gym in no time. Smile, you can walk!

WOULD SOMEBODY PLEASE TELL MY STUPID BAND...
Maddysgram replied to Terry Poperszky's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
The band rules everytime! -
Come a little closer, can't quite see your nose.lol. I'll tell you how to fix it though. Take a bowl of ice cubes and set it on kitchen table. Now sit in a chair in front if it, bending over and sticking your nose into the ice, wait 1hr. When the hour is up remove face from bowl and IMMEDIATELY bunch yourself really hard in the nose, b/c I know that is you Suzie, Chez would not write such a post. Go back to where you came from Suzie and give us back our grammy! We'll never love you like we do grammy! Bahahahaha

I have the "subtle" ache in the shoulder, though it isn't "subtle", it hurts like hello. Sometimes I sigh too. With the shoulder pain, I have def got to stop.

I love going to the mall and just sitting on a bench ppl watching. First thought that comes to mind " what were they thinking".lol bayougirl, did you happen to see the girl here that posted a naked picture of herself as a profile picture? Yikes, "what was she thinking". Couple of us wanted to start drinking to get that image out of our heads.

I watched that show. They talked about everything we talk about here. They even talked about ppl think WLS is taking the "easy way out". We need our own reality show! lol

I am so honored that your first post was to praise me. Thank you so much! I mainly posted b/c I wanted to thank everyone here for educating me in the way to be successful with my band. I know without a doubt that without their help, I would be struggling. So let me welcome you to the forum. I hope you post often so we get to know you. As I said, you will find a lot of support, knowledge and inspiration here. My Drs office stressed how important it was to join a support group and I really wasn't happy with the few ppl that showed up at their meetings, but I feel the support I get here is so much better and I hope you'll feel that way too. Thank you again for your support! -
Glad you're seeing your Dr tomorrow. Good Luck! Keep us posted.

Maddysgram replied to healthylifestyle4me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Work it girlfriend! Funny thing is I did the same thing with my husband. His secretary wants to have LBS since she found out our insurance will cover it. My husband went and told her she couldn't b/c she couldn't take that much time off.lol I went and had a talk with her and explained that I was playing it up. Really he only missed the first night of dinner, but I made him carry all the groceries and laundry (after I did it), poor baby suffered so. LMAO -
Is the pain in my back a sign?
Maddysgram replied to All Emotions's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like your full sign. That's how my shoulder is,as soon as I stop eating it goes away. -

Maddysgram replied to nessa2012's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I found that at the beginning of my second week, I felt great physically, but would need a nap. It is b/c your body is still healing and that too did not last but a couple of days. Hang in there! -

Maddysgram replied to Virtiouswoman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Like Missy says, until you get adequate fills, it's just another diet. I'm right there with you. I've had one fill and hopefully getting another next week. Hang in there, once you get enough fills the band will help you along, but it does take time. -
Is the pain in my back a sign?
Maddysgram replied to All Emotions's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't feel stupid, you haven't done anything wrong. The pain in your back could be just gas, or maybe it is a sign that you've had enough to eat. The band pushes on different nerves . So do you get this pain while eating or long after you've eaten? My Dr told me that the pain would be in my chest. I have the nerve that shoots up into my shoulder, when I've had enough to eat and with the first twinge of pain, you do not want to eat one more bite. It's very painful. I haven't got restriction yet and still get the stop eating sign. You should call your Dr and discuss this with him to make sure on whats going on. I'm only guessing!
