    Having 2nd thoughts

I think we all go through that questioning stage. I know I did. Only you can answer if its right for you. Can you do what is required of you as far as eating the right foods and limiting your portions? Are you ready to change your lifestyle? Whatever you decide, I wish you the best.
  2. Wishing you the best! I too am sorry it didn't work out for you.

Could be any number of things, are you eating too fast, too big a bite, not chewing enough, over eating, too tight or a certian food not agreeing with you, after first pbing did you go on fluids awhile, sometimes pb irritate the esphogus?? See what I mean by a number of things? Only you will be able to figure out which one it is. Good Luck!

    My Lapband Horror Story

I didn't say anything about you knowing the OP. I said, you had a lot in common and maybe PMing each other you can discuss your common concerns about the vegus nerve. Nothing hostile about that. No one being paranoid, just protective of new bandsters. When someone misrepresents something we have every right to voice our concerns and opinions. The OP had so many statements listed as fact, which was not the case. I find everyone here very helpful and kind, but when it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, it's a duck. BTW- feel free to correct my grammer and punctaution. Yes, I remember!

    My Lapband Horror Story

This MsMaui, this story sounds so much like your story on the thread "My Band Story- long but worth reading" . You and NanaPrice have a lot in common when it come to the vegus nerve, maybe a PM between you two is in order ;)

    ok this is my fear!

Yep, I have always had a big butt and thighs. Always loose boobs first, but right now liking the change my butt has made so far. Like Elcee said, we are what we are, but being smaller all over is still better then being obese.
  10. I like what everyone elsed posted and thought I would add another thought. Tell hub since he insisted you tell his family, he needs to tell them that the only way they can help you, is give positive support or say nothing at all. When they start asking how much you have lost, tell them the Dr asked that you don't weigh yourself between visits and only share what you want to share. (((((((hugs)))))

Remember you are your best advocate. You either need to find new Dr that will work with you, or have a heart to heart with present Dr and not leave the exam room until he addresses your concerns. Has he made sure you have no leaks, slips or unlatched band? If band is in working order, he needs to find a Dr for you that can do metabolic test, b/c the numbers don't add up. Do you actually measure your servings or eye ball them? We'd really like to help you, but need more answers. I'm curious too, why they kept you in hospital for 5 days?
  13. LOL, I live in FL too, maybe when you, pattygirl and I reach goal, we can meet at Disney and walk that whole park all day.
  14. Just so happens having port revision surgery Wednesday. Expecting plateau b/c been dieting for 10mths now and even the best (Missy, Pattygirl, Lovethenewme) have all had to face some.lol Best of luck on your journey!

Thoughts & prayers with you tomorrow! Keep us posted. You're going to have a wonderful life with your little one's.
  16. Drs and Lap Band manufacturers say 1-2 lbs per week. I've been averaging 10 lbs per month, but expect to hit a plateau anytime now.lol

    fills to kick in?

My first fill of 3cc made no difference at all. It caused my stomach to be angry for about 1wk, but I could still eat. Sometimes it can take several fills before you have enough restriction to be in green zone. My Dr told me on average anywhere from 4.5 -7 cc for restriction.
  18. I had this years before I even considered the band. I had silent reflux and never felt anything. When they did an EGD they found the erosion. I had to take 2 Prilosec a day and watch my diet and went back 1mth later and it was healed up. I still take 1 Prilosec a day since then. Fast forward to present, my bariatric surgeon got my records from GI and found no reason not to do hernia repair and banding. So maybe there is still hope, so wait until you see your Dr and get full report. But I agree with Missy and talk with Jean and see how her story goes.

Sorry you've been having problems, but no my Dr and his staff are always there to address my needs. The hosp you were in for 5days, was your Dr on staff there? How much a fill did Dr give you at time of surgery? Sorry about all the questions, just trying to understand. As far as eating have you ever heard "just b/c you can, does not mean you should". I'm still in bandster hell (no restriction) but I still eat by the bandster rules, 1000 cal per day,no more than 1cup of food, 3 oz protein 1/2 c veggies, 1/4 good carbs. 60 gr protein total per day. At least 64 oz fluid per day. So what are you eating?

    SOooo. Not losing at all!

This isn't going to make you happy, but I'm going to be honest with you. I am an October bandster with 1-3cc fill still in bandster hell.I really should have had a second 2cc fill, but it has been delayed for a couple wks. This is a time we have to be strong and remember how badly we want this. Stick to the bandster rules, work through your hunger by keeping busy. Its about mind over matter right now. I'm sure all of us were able to diet for a few months in the past, thats what we have to do now. The band will kick in, my Dr promised me.lol. Hang in there!
  21. I was just diagnosed with a completely flipped port. Having revision surgery this Wednesday. The only difference I can feel is a slight twinge of pain when I lay on the port side. I have no restriction or reflux at all. That's why it is so important to go to Dr. Living with reflux is not good. Just explain to the Dr. that you fell on hard times and didn't have the money, which I'm sorry you're going through that, its rough. 6yrs ago my husband was self employed and we had no insurance, you just don't go to the Dr. What happened to the days no one had health insurance and anyone could go to a Dr? Miss them days. Keep us posted.

    Nervous

I think most of us have been where you are right now. Yoyo dieting, wondering how we let ourselves get in this terrible shape. What is wrong with us, etc etc.... First, don't look at letting your son down, you are beginning a journey to give your son a healthier happier mommy and one day grandma to his children. Your doing this for him, not against him. I'm proud of you for recognizing you need help to get you there. On having anesthesia, there will be so many ppl and monitors watching over you. I've been knocked out 5 times and its the best.lol First your there and then you're waking up in recovery. Everyone is always nervous about this and you wouldn't be human if you weren't, but you will do fine. The ppl looking out for you are professionals. Try to keep your eyes on the prize. A new you, being able to run around with your son, shopping in normal size clothes dept. all the good stuff health and happiness give you. Last believe you deserve it all, b/c you do. Everyone deserves health! My thoughts & prayers will be with you for a speedy recovery and great success. I am truly happy with my band and you will be too. Best wishes
  24. I think the first thing you need to do is see your Dr. You need to make sure everything is where its suppose to be. You know being too tight can actually cause you to gain weight, by eating more sliders that are higher in calories, but easier to get down. I strongly advice you, call your Dr. Best wishes

    Skin issues

I wouldn't worry about it, but I would call your Dr or Nutritionist and tell them. I have all kinds of skin problems that run in my family and sometimes little things can irritate your system. So like I said, don't worry, just check it out.
