Thoughts & prayers with all of you and your families!

Dawn, My heart goes out to you. All we want to do in life is protect our children, but then comes the time when we have to let them get on with it, it hurts. Audrey is a beautiful girl and she will do wonderfully. Try not to worry... Can't wait to see some of Erika's pictures. Terri, hope the pool party goes well. We're still getting a lot of rain. How close do your grands live to you?

So good to hear from you, Diane. I figured life was kicking your butt, but I also know you have a butt that won't be kept down. Continued prayers for you my friend! Carole, that is so awesome, walking the trails of the Blue Ridge, woohoo! It was a long time coming, but you did it. You are a great inspiration for me. To go through something so devastating and now marching the trails. You rock!!!

Never going to let any one of you go!!!!! Trying to wean myself off pain meds. I was able to take half of my usual dose, but it has been hard. Terri, you are right " couch to 5k" and wanting you all to be there with me. I'm certian Mini can come up with a motivational theme for me, us. This morning I was back to pre op weight and I'm sure I still have a pound or two of swelling, better than the 7 lbs. Carole, hope the remodeling is going forward. Terri, I'm having quiltingnwithdrawal. So hoping to get Maddy's lap quilt done for her birthday. I guess if I put my embolism stockings on, I can sit at machine. Right now I am sitting on a heating pad.lol It's funny that a nerve that runs down your leg, can give you one pain in the ass. My band is still super tight, glad I didn't have a fill before surgery. Dawn, How is your world traveler? Love you guys! Thanks for listening to me piss and moan. I promise it won't be forever. Hugs for you all!

Hi Ladies, Had a really busy day today. Went for my one week post op, Dr very pleased with my range of motion. Took off my lovely white embolism stockings, yeah, hot in FL. Removed all bandages and can shower now. Scheduled other knee for Sept 11. Things seem to be moving quickly Went with Ange to her last high risk ob appt. Got a picture of Emilia, but she wouldn't let go of umbilical across face. Still an amazing shot. Dawn, you must be so excited having Erika home. Lots to talk about. When does she have to report back to school? Does the new foster puppy like her? How was gram? Carole, Things are really coming together. Sorry to hear about the miscalculation on counter top. I would have been po'd too. It's not just a little thing. Can you take a picture of new furniture with your ipad? Like I told you before, if its on my phone, I email it back to my email acct and then just savs it from there. Mini must be terribly busy studying! Dee, busy wrangling kids and Charlie Terri lost in her scrapbooking. and where's Di?meet Emilia

Forgot to mention, Angela's c section is scheduled for Oct 23.

Carole, sounds like things are coming around nicely. Hope to see pictures of new bedroom furniture. How far in advance do I need to make reservations??? lol Dawn, your new foster baby is so cute, I don't know how you foster such a gorgeous dog and then give them up?! It must be hard!!!! How's your back doing? Band behaving itself? Di, Hoping now that moms apartment is packed, you have sometime for you. Are you eating properly? I hope and pray! Dee, I pray Charlie gets serious about his new way of living. He was lucky he had a wake up call and a second chance at life. Like us, he doesn't need to blow it. Between Charlie, kids, s hool, work and home, I'm worried about you. I hope you can find a few quiet Dee moments. (((((hugs))))) Terri, You sure are busy too. I think my scrapbooking would start looking like a quilt.....lol I can't put too much info in this brain of mine, suffering from overload. Mini, skinny, shrink a dink, I'm on drugs and so confused. How do you keep all your balls in the air? I have to post this before I close my eyes again. Time for a nap.... PT really worked the knee super hard yesterday. I was able to do what she asked, but boy my knee is not happy. Ice and pills, pills and ice. Everyone have a good day. PT early today, I want my mommy!!!! lol love you all!

WOW Dawn, sounds like you are going to be busy..... It is too bad your ex puts himself ahead of his girls., one day he will regret it. Happy , happy Birthday Audrey!!!! I'm very excited about Erika's safe return home. She will never forget this time in her life. Angie is doing well. She's been having back problems, but hey, her back has 30 extra pounds on it. Loved my PT, she too is pleased with my progress. I just know God has answered all the prayers regarding my surgery and recovery. Dr also gave me permission to fire RN. She did the same thing as before and I talked with Drs nurse. She said the RN left a long rambling voicemail that made no sense to them, so I no longer need a nurse, yeah! She told me I could shower, Dr said absolutely not. My hub has been very good to me, out of character for him. He actually brought home a crossword puzzle book for me. His attitude has made this much easier. Terri, Carole, Dee, Di, Skinny Mini & Dawn, you all mean so much to me. Thank you for your kindmness and support.

Good Monday morning ladies, I hope everyone has a great start to their week. Today will be my first day home alone, yeah. RN coming to change dressings and yes Carole, I will stand up for my own health. I also will check into pain management, ice is great on knee, its the sciatic that is driving me nuts. All & all I am pleased with my new knee. Everyone have a great day!
-
PT was just here, can I say owwwwwiiiiee. No pain, no gain. Therapy every day for 3 wks.
-
My knee feels pretty good. Matter of fact, I don't think I need a walker, but I will continue to use it until I'm told to give it up. My main problem is my sciatic, it is killing me, much more than my knee. Hopefully this too will pass. Thank goodness for pain meds. I tend to fall asleep in the middle of typing and wake up and start again, it can happen 3-4 times in one post. Thats why I may not address all of you, I confused, lol. Just know I love you all and wish you all the very best this world has to offer. BTW, I met my home health nurse today and even though she is very nice, I would like to fire her. She washes her hands to takemy dressing off and then proceeds to go through her paper work using her pen, touching everything. Also put gauze out on the seat of my hubs recliner, where he eats, drinks and snores, with nothing between gauze and chair.Gross!!!! She didn't know how to put my circulation stockings on, which I have to say are quite a fashion statement, I had to show her. Three times she insisted I needed to sign Medicare release, do I look 65yo??? I DO NOT HAVE MEDICARE!!!! She has got to go. ok, enough of my bitching. Off to Pinterest........ ttyl ♥

So excited about you getting the kitchen done. I need pictures, lol. I'm sure Jack is enjoying his hands on work, men love power tools. That's great you can hire some strong young men to help out. I can't imagine not having a working kitchen. Are you eating out alot? Thank you so much for your beautiful card. I am so blessed to have met you!!!!!

So proud of you girl! wife, mother, student, all while working . You rock! Counting down the days with you. HUGS

I got home from the hospital at 5pm today, yay. I need a long winters nap. Everyone (nurses, aides and PT ppl) were all very impressed by my therapy. They're happy just to have you stand and then sit in a chair. I took a walk down to the nurse station and back. Also walked everyday to the PT room. The only problem I had, my room was right across from stair well and all I know is that a lot of ppl take the stairs, with the door slamming every time. Good to be home!!!! Nurse coming tomorrow. Dawn, cute dog. Terri, sorry about the a/c Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers, they definitely worked.

Started at morbid obesity, then severe obesity, playing around awhile at being just obese and this morning I finally hit "overweight". Never thought I'd be happy being overweight, but am I ever. Ideal BMI, here I come.

Can this be done by me?!
Maddysgram replied to Helli's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm living proof it can be done. I sounded just like you, always tomorrow or next week. Today is the day. You want to be healthy? I bet more than anything, you do. It's time to take care of you!!! No one else will, its up to you. Your profile is not filled out, so I really don't know where you are in this process, but I would suggest, eating good Protein at every meal. A salad will not hold you over, unless it has protein in it, like chicken. Protein, protein, protein is the key to keeping full longer. Drinking lots and lots of Water will help too. You can do this! Sorry that you have an unwell husband, that must be stressful and stress is not helpful. Try a find a new way to relieve stress, like taking a walk, pulling weeds, cleaning something or a hobby, do not use food. Say I can and I will because "I want this". -
Definitely speak with your Dr, all we can do is guess. But it sounds to me like you are either over filling yourself or eating to quickly. Believe me, you can not force yourself to PB, it will do it itself whether you want it to or not ( like in a restaurant, lol) PBing is when you're stuck and you have pain in your chest and begin sliming. You keep spitting to get rid of it and all of a sudden your body will build enough slime, that you either pb it up or it finally goes down. After you have an episode like that you want to be sure to do liquid Proteins or mushies for a few days, b/c it aggravates your stoma. Give your Dr a call. They got big bucks to do the surgery, let them do their job. Good luck!

lol, having my girls 11 years apart made the teens bearable. Can't imagine having 2 teens in the house. Maddy is going to be 13 next month, oh my!
