i dont know what todo
Maddysgram replied to MsRhonda's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you waiting an hour after eating before you lay down? I agree with Chez, use a couple pillows around you so you can't roll over. I get the shoulder pain, but only when I push an extra bite of food. That pain is my soft stop. Glad you're seeing Dr soon. Keep us posted. -
and don't forget the banana holder too.lmao Amazon does have nice warming plates.

Did I make a mistake?
Maddysgram replied to jaye282's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are healing from a major surgery, Lapband with hernia repair, of course you're going to feel crappy for a short while. I too, had LB and hernia rspair, didn't see my Dr after surgery b/c they have surgeries back to back. I was given my instructions on the way home and they were discussed at different meetings. Almost everyone who has had this surgery has gone through the WTH did I do to myself phase, but it only last a short while. Its way to soon to be talking about getting it removed. Give it time, follow the Drs orders. The more you walk the more gas you get out of your system and that helps a lot. Sip water all day long. Do you have a follow up appt 7-10 days out? Take a deep breath and try to relax, being stressed out will not help. I love my band and think its the best thing I'vs ever done for myself. But right after surgery it was WTH,lol Best Wishes -

Congratulations fellow bandster! Sounds like you're doing all the right stuff. Take it easy, even though you feel pretty good, it was still major surgery. -

Can Menopause hinder weight loss?
Maddysgram replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The water weight is a big issue. There are days when my band is very tight and I can hardly eat, two small meals and then there's days when I can't get satisfied to save my life and I think it is all fluid related. Makes me worry about fills. I can take normal size bites of food, but I chew it up really well and never(knock on wood) been stuck. I can eat pretty much anything that I want, not that I do, but could. I practiced small bites for 8mths but as time goes by without restriction, I have gotten lazy. So I'm sure I need a fill, but what happens on those tight days, I'll be starting my meals at 4pm,lol Ah the joys of getting older! -
Considering the "Advise of Others"
Maddysgram replied to Sojourner's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
That is how the forum is suppose to run and I know their are a lot of ppl that are smart enough to bring it to their Drs attention. And I'm glad you're one of them. But this forum has ppl from all around the world and even Americans go to other countries for cheaper surgery and then they come here for medical advice, when they should be seeking a Dr in their area. I'm sure those are the one's OP is worried about. Them getting good medical advice from a qualified Dr. I've seen post here and replied to "I'm throwing up blood, do you think its a problem" and someone comes on and says "oh, I threw up blood too, but it was old blood from my surgery". When the reply should have been "get off the boards and call your Dr or go to ER", lol my reply. The forum is a wonderful educational experience. It helped me a lot, as it will you. Best wishes on your journey! -

Can Menopause hinder weight loss?
Maddysgram replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Had no idea that it had flipped. Went for 2nd fill and after 10 pokes, sent me for fluro and it was flipped completely over. He was really upset b/c with it stitched down it should not have done that. He wasn't mad at me, he was mad at himself. I see him for follow up tomorrow so maybe he can tell me more, like did all the stitches go or what. -

Everyone is totally different so try not to compare yourself with anyone. As long as the scale is going down, its all good. -
Can Menopause hinder weight loss?
Maddysgram replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I thought I was over hot flashes, but the LBS threw me back into them, but not as bad as they were. Sorry for all the problems you two have had. Just last Wednesday I had to have my port revised (flipped) but nothing major like you two. Good luck! -
medicare for skin removal
Maddysgram replied to jenn9585's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
In Florida our Medicare patients can have anything done and medicare will pay 80 % of what they determined is a reasonable fee. I have never heard of anyone having to get pre approved with Medicare. Also Drs have no idea how much of your deductible has been met. Like I said, that is Florida. My advice would be to call your Medicare office and ask them. Good luck! -
Can Menopause hinder weight loss?
Maddysgram replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, it slows down your metabolism and makes it much harder to loose. That's why I went with LBS. -
Oh, it even gets better! I've cleaned out my closet 3 times already.lol It's nice not to be so crammed full of all different sizes. I can even imagine how you'll feel in a couple months with your students. woohoo! The best is yet to come!
-
The Dr decides the size. It's all about the shape and size of your stomach. I have a 10cc band and I'm not worried about it. If your loosing weight your stomach will shrink also. I haven't heard one story about running out of restriction room yet.
-
absolutely nothing is on my mind. Maybe after Drs appt tomorrow I'll have something to report.
-
I had my fiirst PB the other day too. I took a pill whole that was a little to big and then made the mistake in trying to wash it down with more water. My Dr told me to never do that, I didn't listen. But like you, it was a learning experience. Not as bad as I imagined and if it happens while eating out, excuse myself quickly.lol

May I ask dear, why no meat? Did you just give it up or you can't tolerate it? Love you too and have a wonderful day!
