Sounds like you're doing all the right things. From my experience the chest and shoulder pain was from gas and swelling. Thats where the heating pad comes in. I also would drink warm decaf tea and that helped me with the chest discomfort and extra oz,lol You're doing great! -
I was banded yesterday morning

Congratulations Bandster! I just watched a You Tube video of a Dr, Malley doing a lap band surgery, wonder if its the sams Dr The video gave me a lot of respect for surgeons. I sew alot and I could never sew like they do with those long instruments, amazing. Well if you been reading threads here, you know what to do. "Follow your Drs plans and don't cheat",lol. Any questions and someone will answer them. Best Wishes on your amazing journey! -

HERE GOES NOTHING!

Nerves are normal, even to ppl who have had multiple surgeries. Our heads like to mess with us. Thoughts & prayers for a quick recovery! Keep your eyes (mind) on the prize. You'll do great. Follow all your Drs instructions. -
I'm like B-52, hub chooses to eat what ever he wants. He didn't sign up for a lifestyle change, I did. After awhile, it really doesn't bother you. My oldest daughter is always apologizing for eating things in front of me and I'm always saying "really, it doesn't bothed me, don't worry about it". After 3 1/2 mths, you'd think she'd learn. I still think "clocking" your partner is still funny though.lol

My Dr & I just had this discussion yesterday. I too, am not ready to eat for hrs after I get up. He told me it was a universal problem with LBers and its due to fluid retention from being in bed. Like Missy said, who said breakfast has to be at 8am, and breakfast has to be typical breakfast items? The other day, I started my day with a lean burger patty, quickly cooked on George Formen, cottage cheese and fresh tomato slices. That kept me going all day. Funny thing is our bodies let us know when we're hungry, lol. I'm lucky, my nut says "don't eat, if you're not hungry", which makes sense to me. That's just my Dr & Nut opinion and everyone else's may vary.

Yep, the more you move the better you'll be. The first 48hrs is the worst. You're swollen and your body is screaming WTH. Everyday after that will get a little better. By the end of your first week, you should feel pretty good. Keep up with pain medication, walking, sipping and heating pad helps too. I was told to walk around every 2hrs. First day I just paced the hallway, 2nd day walked around outside. Hang in there, it does get better! -
I would keep a food diary, so you can take it to your Dr or nutritionist and they can help you with a plan. Doesn't sound like you're eating to much, maybe it is your thyroid. I've only had 2 fills totaling 4.5cc and not in green zone yet and the only thing that works for me is tracking every morsel I put in my mouth, drinking 64+ oz a day and keeping my Protein to 60grs daily and calories at 1000. You will start to lose weight, it just takes time and everyone loses at a different rate. Just hang in there!

Shoulder pain still!
Maddysgram replied to jewel2013's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too had shoulder pain for three months, my 2nd fill got rid of it. It was my soft stop and now its gone. It's not the same as shoulder pain from gas, it's a nerve pain. Give it time and when you see your Dr just mention it. -
If you feel you have to tell them anything, other than it's none of their business, lol Tell them that until you have enough restriction in your band, the band does not work and restriction can take up to 6-7 fills with some ppl. Are you logging what you eat? I use MyFitnessPal on my phone & computer. How many calories & protein are you eating. Can you give us a sample of your typical day?

Incision pain 7 weeks out???
Maddysgram replied to finallytime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would def give it some time to heal back up. Just had a port revision and I didn't even do anything to pull it. Dr. told me today at follow up, that they expect the stitches to hold port until scar tissue holds it in place. -
ROFLMAO!!!!

Gram, can I be your flower girl? I'll work really hard to be at goal.

Lapband and that time of the month??
Maddysgram replied to Tina Ramirez's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would think if my LBS could restart my hot flashes, that I thought was over after 5 yrs. That the surgery could also mess with your period. IMO -
Also helps to warm plate before adding food to it. Bed Bath and Beyond doesn't keep the warming plates in stock, but they do offer to order you one, if you don't want to go Amazon route.
