Going from a 6mth supervised diet, to LBS in Oct, I can honestly say I really don't crave anything any more. Right after surgery I found that the Propel I used to add to my water is now too sweet. I really enjoy not having food call my name! lol

Yes, until I get the hang of things I weigh, measure and log everything. I'm hoping after breaking old habits and practicing new ones, that one day counting calories won't be necessary. But for right now, its a must for me. We have to do what works for us.

Ok, I'll lay it on you, You did it, you confessed it, now move on. Don't beat yourself up. Like Jean said, today is almost over, tomorrow is a new day. Try to find something besides food to comfort you about parents move. Hope I wasn't too hard on you.

Insurance came through
Maddysgram replied to shazini's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations! I remember the day of getting that approval call, mixed emotions.Happy and then gulp, what am I doing. Can I do this????? So the apprehension is normal. You will not be disappointed. Good Luck! -
You have absolutely nothing to be embarassed about, really. You're 6wks out and that was your healing time and not loosing time. You don't owe anyone an explanation. I hope you are doing this just for you. You are the one you have to answer to and no one else. If you're following your Drs plan, you should be proud of yourself. You've just come through the roughest part, pre & post op. Stand tall, be proud. You are becoming a new and healthier you.

Glad you're doing well. There is a lot to learn from the veterans and the mistakes others make.

The only problem I have is the very small print. Everyone has different educational backgrounds, so I don't fault anyone for doing the best they know how. The colors don't bother me or whether they center, right or left margin. I don't even care if they use paragraphs. I just like the fact that they feel they can share and be supported. To each their own!

medicare for skin removal
Maddysgram replied to jenn9585's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
If I were you, I would also get it in writing. Sometimes you can get 10 different answers from 10 different ppl working for the same insurance company. It just took my daughter two weeks to finally get my granddaughters medication b/c different ppl within ins. co. giving different answers to drug store. -
Bad Night. feeling down doesnt begin to cover it..

Boy, those stupid ppl must think they're rocket scientist. They had no idea you didn't know you were heavy and felt the need to tell you. What asses! And to think they probably consider themselves adults. Its really sad that society judges ppl by what they look like, instead of whats in their hearts. I hope you stick with our chat board here b/c we have all heard these stupid remarks before. You will find the support and understanding you need right here. -
I am not your age, but welcome to the forum. We're all here to support you. You have a question, just ask. You will find inspiration, knowledge and support here. Best wishes on your journey

Stuffing our feelings is one of the things we have to work on during LBS. You my as well start to learn that part and be open with your feelings. Thats probably why you feel like giving up, b/c the old you stuffs your feeling and then comforts yourself with food, but now thats not possible. Its amazing all we have to learn about ourselves now. Its not just changing our intake of food, thats only part of it. Its about changing who we are and how we handle things. Missy is right, you are worthy to be good to yourself. You are worthy of being healthy. You are worthy of respect from yourself and others. Don't give up, you have nothing to lose, but the old you. You can do this!

I worked for a Ob/Gyn and they call it "break through bleeding" and it is caused by hormone changes like knitmom stated. It can happen when you're on birth control pills too. I don't know about the Nuva Ring (I'm old school) but you might want to call and ask Dr about effectiveness during these episodes.

Superbowl junk food and pre-op diet
Maddysgram replied to akwright68's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You'll have the last laugh next year when you're all slim and sexy and they're standing there with their beer bellies hanging out. Then you'll see who is the most fit. And yes, your son is a super hero and deserves a special treat of some sort. Hang in there, it is worth it! -
9 Days Post Op - Hungry and Can Eat Much More than 2-3ozs?
Maddysgram replied to Nate A Erickson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded Oct 15,2012 and have not had enough fills to have restriction yet, but I do follow the rules and the scale shows it. If you want this to work long term you have got to get your head in the game. Stick to your Drs plan. I know at some point you heard " you can eat whatever you want, only being able to eat less". That is not right now. Pull out your Want Power and do what you have to do, to get what you want. I wish you nothing but success. Look at scripture under my ticker. Just b/c you can, does not mean you should. -
6 month diet bomb!
Maddysgram replied to sweetie__13's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had to do the 6mths supervised diet and wasn't pleased either. Once we make up our mind, we want instant gratification. But that 6mths turned out to not only go by quickly, but was the time I got the best education of my life, right here on LBT.com. There are so many who jump right into surgery and they really have no clue what to expect. They think they do, but their habits say otherwise. If I was you, I'd let the insurance pay for it and take the time to learn all the does and don'ts of lap band living. Ask folks here how much they learned about "bandster hell"? Not covered too much with pre op. You can learn from the pros here and the ppl making mistakes. I want you to succeed in this, just like your insurance company. Save your loan money for tummy tucks, boob lifts or face lifts. Good luck on whatever you choose! -
1. I can cross my legs, haven't done that in at least 3yrs. 2. My motorcycle does not burn the crap out of my inner thighs. Cubby thighs to close to the heat. It's all worth being in "Bandster Hell"

Weight Loss Challenge at Work - Unfair Advantage??
Maddysgram replied to Redesigned_Curves's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Cawanna is right, 9 times out of 10 you will be on a diet for months before you have enough restriction. I was banded Oct 15 and still not in the green zone yet. If you are a lucky one and have restriction from the get go, you can decide then. -
Speaking of pizza, I just found a pizza crust made out of cauliflower on Pinterest.
