Finally able to get on here. Last night I could do FB, but no LBTalk or Pinterest, wth! Ange and I went shopping at Target and BooksAMillion today. Last day to wear my white capris, lol. I found out today that Ange can not do BabysRus. She has been one time and had a melt down. She bought quite a lot of things there for Juliette and finds the memories still painful. I can't wait until Emilia is in her arms and helping with that pain. Carole,I think its so great that you and Jack are committed to working out. Did Jack workout before his retirement, or is this something new? Sorry about the greek yogurt on your screen, but I so enjoy making someone laugh. I really believe thats my lifes work. How was the kite festival, you entering next year? Minimi, I just saw a Pin on Pinterest that said to put a few drops of your favorite essential oil inside your toilet paper roll for a continued air freshener. Sounded like a good idea, but now have to figure out the best scent for a bathroom???? Also, how do you keep your yarn balls from unraveling in the dryer and what oil do you use? Inquiring minds. Run any trails this weekend? Dawn, Dee, Terri and Di, hope you're all having a great weekend. I'm so pleased Symba got a forever home, Dawn.

what, having gray hair to hide or wading threw Water? lol I'm going with water. You're to young and hot for gray hair.

Went and had my hair colored and trimmed this morning. Feels so much better. We had a monsoon while I was there. Had to walk threw ankle deep water in the parking lot. All week weather ppl have been saying "this will be a dry week", boy have they been full of crap.....

I'm so excited about your weekend with Brad, woohoo. Have a good one and share pictures!

A kite festival sounds like a wonderful time, have fun. Hope you have a fantastic dinner tonight also. Enjoy your weekend!

Angela refuses to let us give her a baby shower, but I will try and get her to register for things at BabysRUS. There is a huge family on both sides who will want to get the baby something. She still lives with the fear that something will happen. Emilia Hollister is scheduled to be delivered via c section Oct 23 at 8am.

How did I miss this, must go see. Have a great weekend, Terri.

Hope everyone else is doing well and have a great long weekend. I'm thinking about trying to go out in our boat, we'll see. Also want to go out with Ange to BabysRus and get my granddaughter some neat stuff. I wish you all a peacefull, fun time.

My daughter (bio, lol) was in the marching band and I so enjoyed the football games. When the game sucked, the band carried them. When the team did well, the band celebrated them. It was all good! I can't wait to hear about your progress during your 90 day challenge. I always love your challenges!!! You rock!

Being it was a queen size quilt, I didn't want to try and do the final quilting (stitching) design, way to big. I made the quilt and backing and just had someone with a huge long arm quilting machine do the actual quilting part. These quilting machines are set up on a 12' contraption, which cost a fortune and where do you put such a large piece of equipment. I'll still do the quilting on smaller pieces, but queen is much to big for my comfort. A lot of famous quilters, do not actually quilt their own work. As far as sciatic today, when pt showed me how to stretch, I am doing so much better today. I am so pleased with my progress. Hooray! !! Getting rid of 14's. So proud of your persistent work on moving down the size table. You sure have had your set backs, but continued to move in the right direction. I'm just moving into the 14's, will have to buy new clothes.lol Finally been threw ever size in my closet.

Dee, How exciting about CJ. I hope and pray it all works out. Di, I totally agree with you, where did summer go?! Are you still thinking about remodeling your home? Please continue to take care of yourself. You have always been such great inspiration to me, since the beginning of my journey. I hardly recognized your picture on FB, with you and your friends, wow. Dawn, Hows thing's goin? Your statement about keeping my legs together is something Paula would have said. You two are so alike. lol
-
PT went well today. Having a normal knee bend is 120 degrees and I am at 105, which they said most are at 80 degrees at this time. 2Wks post op today and 2 wks today for next knee, woohoo. PT also taught me how to stretch out the sciatic, I swear its like a toothache. Carole, I bet you are losing fat with your exercise, but gaining muscle, so thats why the scale isn't moving. Keep going and it will all work out. It didn't take you long to take to mountian driving, wtg. Terri, picked up my queen quilt today $198., batting included in that. A bit pricy, but I'm very happy how it turned out. Now to add the binding. Planning to sit in recliner sewing that after next surgery.

LMBO, good one.
-
ps. trying not to cross my legs is hard too, as I sit here with my legs crossed. Stop it!!! lol
-
I start outpatient PT tomorrow, hope that helps tv commercials kicking my butt.lol
-
I love you ladies!!!! Dawn, I hope and pray Symba is a good fit with adoptee! Ever since surgery, band has been super tight. 2-3 bites fill me up. Problem is boredom is kicking my butt. Every KFC or pizza Hut commercial drives me crazy, not that I could eat it, but would like to give it a try, lol. Oh, and the cupcake commercials, omg. I'll be so happy when you and Brad are together!!!! Terri, It will be a while before I do the One Fabric Wonder, lol. Just got call today that Ange's quilt is ready. Will be interested on how much to quilt?!?

Morning Ladies, It is so good to hear from you all. I so wish there was something I could do to help with your problems Dee and Di, but alas, all I have to offer is a heart felt prayer. May God give you peace and strength to face your daily challenges. Dawn, How you doin? Must say, I'm glad you do have your puppy's, so you are not totally alone. I would hate the thought of you coming home from work to a totally empty house. I happen to catch a special news report about the thugs taking over the streets of Chicago, last night. Ppl staying off the streets and kids having guards walk them to school b/c gangs have taken over. How sad! I will be so happy when you move out, can't come soon enough. Start packing!!! Carole, That kitchen sink is so beautiful. I have never seen anything like it. Better get that kitchen done before the leaves are in full bloom. If you are like me, you will be spending a lot of time outside, just enjoying the beauty of it all. I do hope both you and Terri will share pictures. I will trade one beautiful beach sunset picture for a glorious picture of a sea of magnificent color spend over the mountains. Even the thought of it thrills me. So jealous! Minimi, I checked out your Essential Oils page. I have always been interested in it, but now with you being a distributor, will have to investigate more. What oil works on staying asleep longer????? So when do you have to start studying for CPA exam? I will be so happy when all you have to do in life is enjoy the fruits of your labor. Terri, I think I may have asked you this and sorry for possibly repeating myself, have you every made a One block wonder quilt? You use just one fabric. I got the how to book for my birthday and just dying to make one. I have so many quilting projects sitting in my sewing room waiting for me. Yesterday was half tempted to put on embolism stockings a sit at my sewing machine, lol. The darn things are just too hot. My next knee is scheduled for Sept.11. I do appreciate all the prayers, it worked great the first time.Hoping for a repeat performance. When standing, I put more weight on that leg and it reminds me, it is time. It will be nice to have two knee's that don't lock up while standing. I did all the laundry yesterday, hubs in charge of carrying it in and out of laundry room. I did not use the cane once, but getting out of bed at 3am I was trying to figure out where I left it.lol Thursday my Dr said " get off the walker as soon as you can and use a cane and then get off that as soon as you can", following Drs orders, thanks to all the prayers. Batteries are about dead, better post before I lose all my ramblings. Love you all!

I started my LB journey because of the pain my body was going through, just trying to keep up with basic daily activities. Since being banded I have done very little exercising, due to said pain. The years of carrying around 100+ extra pounds has left me with bone on bone knee joints. Yes, taking off 100 lbs has help, but the damage was done. My weight also was beginning to stall b/c of my slow metabolism, I needed to start exercising. 10 days ago, I had a Lt total knee replacement ( Rt is scheduled for Sept 11) and I am so excited by just what I can now do with my physical therapist. 4hrs after surgery they expected me to just stand up and then sit in a chair. I was able to walk down to nurses station and back ( I had farthest room from ns). Yesterday PT had me doing stair climbing, say what???? lol 10 days later I'm ready to get rid of my cane. Hoping for the same results on the right knee (xray said that was my worse knee) I am so excited about my new future! Thanks to the LBS for getting me there! Weight goal here I come, one step at a time.

Happy Sunday Everyone, Hub just took me grocery shopping. I finally broke down and road in a handicapped cart. Hub wanted to drop me at door, but I did refuse that. This morning I vacuumed, scooped 2 litter boxes, cleaned up kitchen and ran dishwasher, iced my knee, showered, shopped, put groceries away and iced my knee again. I just layed down on the bed, more because with all the ice downs and blood thinning, I AM FREEZING!!!! If I could get this sciatica under control, I'd be great. Skinny Minimi, Hope you're feeling better today. Terri, Hope the pool party going well. Carole, So happy you and Jack are living your dreams. The boxes will wait, do something fun. Dee, Whats going on in your hectic world? Charlie behaving? I just watched my hub have vanilla ice cream followed by Cheddar Sour Cream potato chips for lunch. Oh Lordy!!!!! Dawn, How did Audrey do? Hoping your trip to see her went well. Diane, please don't ever stay away b/c of not having good news to report. We are all here for you through the good, bad and ugly. Like Carole said, we're all just a phone call, txt, email away, even if you just need a shoulder to cry on, we're here.

I really don't know why or when I started using food for comfort, but I did. Happy, sad, lonely, bored, whatever, food was there for me, my medication. A medication that never really worked, but was always there. Glad the blinders have been removed and I can face my emotions in more healthy ways. The medicine cabinet, aka the kitchen , has been purged, replaced with healthy natural foods. -
That is wonderful! The girls are lucky to have grandma close by. Are either one of them interested in grandma teaching them to sew? Delaney will ask me to find quilting tutorials for her to watch, soon as its over (approx 10 min) , I hear " another one grandma".lol
