The difference between stuck and too full ????
Maddysgram replied to donna12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Donna, I know from experience that stress can also tighten up that bad. I once couldn't hardly eat for 2 days and it was nothing but stress. Also I agree, do liquids and mushies until it clears. Once I feel like a lump in my chest, quit. Do not take one more bite, ever.lol js -

Lap band after weight loss and now gaining weight
Maddysgram replied to jlenard77389's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sweetie, try to relax . If you look at any weight loss surgery, you will see you can gain weight back with any of them. My sister had gastric bypass, lost a lot of weight, didn't fix her head and gained almost all of it back. It's all about changing your habits. Not using food to medicate yourself. Following your Drs plan. No matter which surgery you choose, its going to take work. Good luck -
Tomorrow is the day! I am sooo nervous
Maddysgram replied to kfiorentino01's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thoughts & prayers for a quick recovery and great success. Yes, nerves are normal, but keep your eye on the prize. A healthier, happier you. Keep us posted. -
After spending a lot of time on LBT and now having some experiences under my belt, I have come to the conclussion that the LB is like a game of Chutes & Ladders. We start our surgery and we're going along and climb a few LADDERS by losing weight and then we might do something not so smart, get stuck, not enough protein or water, injuries, sickness etc... and we hit the CHUTES, back to shakes, rethink how and what we're eating. The best part is there is always a winner, as long as you don't give up the game. Just my thoughts

Here in Florida they do that , plus underweight kids. They send the notice to the parents. My grandson got a notice that he was underweight. My daughter had a fit.lol

I can't believe it!

That's awesome, congratulations! -
That is a great attitude! Sounds like you have "want power".

failing at the band already
Maddysgram replied to msseven's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
M1 is right. Right now you have to depend on your want power, not willpower. How bad do you want this? Ask yourself that before you put something in your mouth, how bad do I want this. -
Is this an NSV, or is it just weird?
Maddysgram replied to Jean McMillan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums

Tighter Isn't Always Better
Maddysgram replied to Jean McMillan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Everytime I read your articles I think "oh that's good". But this article was one of your best (until the next one, lol). I truly hope everyone reads this. Thanks again Jean! -
WTG Girlfriend! Great post, we are all different and no comparison.

My husband has loved me 40 yrs overweight, I don't think its going to change. At one of my support meetings that fact was disclosed and I like Karen, believe it wasn't strong to begin with. I know a lot of woman who stay with their partner b/c of their weight. Thinking they could never do better. After losing the weight, different story.

You really shouldn't do that. You're given a liquid diet for a reason, not for torture. When you put solids in your sutured stomach, the churning of digestion could do some damage. You need to call your Dr and talk to them about being to hungry on just liquids, maybe they can work something else out for you. Good luck!

You are a lucky one to be able to drink that much from the start. You must have minimal swelling b/c that is usually the problem on our first week. Don't worry about your calories right now. That will come later. Just keep doing what your Dr order and try not to worry, which I know thats hard b/c we all did worry in the beginning. We're scared of getting this wrong and failing yet another time. You're doing great, congratulations and welcome to the banded side!

LOL, yes phone don't let you do a whole lot. Tablets a little better, but nothing like the old pc to get the job done.

There are some Social Group Forums that are private and not open to the public and you have to be invited. I hope this helps.

I just had port revision after having it flipped, no infection involved. Banded 10/15/12. I call it my bump in the road along my journey. Sorry you are having problems. What the others say is true, you need nothing for pain having tubes & staples removed. My granddaughter lives with a G & J tube that has to be replaces monthy, which my daughter does. Just pulls them out and puts new ones in. I hope your journey has no more bumps in the road, good luck.

WTG Girl, you rock! I hope everyone reads your story about living the LB rules. Happy Belated Birthday!

Well thank you for sharing yourself with us. I know I just share what my bariatric team tells me and it seems to work for me. No, I'm not at goal yet, but sticking to my Drs orders, I plan to be. Everyone has a different story. All our journey's are our journey's and I appreciate everyone's story, no matter where they are in that journey. Matter of fact, I learned so much starting out from others in the middle of their journey. The likes of Missy, Sojo, CG,AJ, Dee,Chez, Floridays & Jean, just to name a few. Not to mention all the books I've read. I figure most of us have educated ourselves before WLS, to know rhetoric from fact. So we take things with a grain of salt. Thank you for sharing your journey. You have done amazing. May the rest of your journey be like wise!

I'd wish you good luck, but luck you don't need. You have what you need. God Bless and have a great week!
