I agree with Chez & Missy. I too, am waiting for both knee's to be replaced and I have not started exercising and still able to take weight off. You can do this!
-
Yep, AJ has me hooked.

Congratulations! It's amazing how many things that others take for granted and are a major yeah moment for us. Ppl think I'm crazy when I'm giddy being obese, until I explain I was morbidly obese and severely obese. lol Looking forward to "over weight".

I started using MFP way before even considering lapband surgery and still use it today. It's a great way to keep track of not only calories, but protein, fat, sugar and water too. I feel its a must when you're first starting out.

lol, " results not typical". Congratulations! I hope they ask you to speak at their seminars.

Questions I wished I had asked.....
Maddysgram replied to erinkenben's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Looking back, it would have been , whats this "bandster hell" I keep hearing about? Thanks to my friends here at LBT, they clued me in. I was under the impression that the pouch was small, you can only physically eat a small amount, from the get go. NOT! -
I did have this also after my surgery. I chalked it up to swelling . Didn't last too long.

Amen sista! Prayers for quick healing with that arm! Talk about seeking, I was just wondering where you were yesterday and was planning to write a note and check up on you. Glad you're back, miss you when you're not posting. Love & God Bless!

Met my good friend Sojo for lunch today. It was nice to meet one of the first person here to take me under her wing. Love ya!

I'M IN ONELANDER, YEAH!!!!!!! 199 LBS this am. I want to thank my LBT family. A lot of you have been here for me from my very first day. You taught me, you inspired me and you support me through thick and thin. Thank you, doesn't seem to be enough, but it's all I have, my undying gratitude!

I'm in Englewood, South Sarasota County. I have Sarasota Memorial Bariatric Center, Dr. Scott Stevens. I really like the whole team. They do everything to make sure you succeed.

Watching what I eat and how much to eat.

LOL. your new normal. In the past, not normal. Post-op normal and great you recognized it.Good job! -
Dr told me first 48hrs the worst and he was right. Every day after that gets better and better. Walk as much as possible, heating pad and pain meds. Warm decaf tea also helped me.

I was banded 3 days after you and I'm just now at 5cc in my band, but like everyone has stated, that has nothing to do with anything.I just reached the green zone with the last fill 2wks ago. I keep my calorie intake close to 1000, Protein at every meal 60 grs total for the day and minimum of 64oz of Fluid a day. I'm not able to do much exercising, so that is not a factor in my weight loss. If you are following your diet plan and not losing, I would ask to speak with the Dr or Nut. and work out whats going on. Good luck

Welcome to the forum! You've come to a great site for support, inspiration and knowledge about the Lapband. Everyone here has had different insurance requirements, so kinda hard to comment on what you have to do. I myself had to do a 6mth suoervised diet, so I had plenty of time to have all the other requirements completed. Good luck on your LB journey!

Why am I so scared to not eat?
Maddysgram replied to CM77539's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I remember being pre op and having all the same thoughts as you. Can I do this, I've failed so many diets before, will I just fail this too, etc..... But WLS was my last hope. It was either try this or my life was over. Guess what??? It does work!!! Follow the rules and it will work for you too. Push the negative thoughts aside and say to yourself " what do I have to lose" Best of luck to you! -
Another great post ,Jean. Should be mandatory reading for all and especially pre op patients. Thank you!

New to the site but banded 2 years
Maddysgram replied to Stephanie1013's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I can't comment on your situation b/c I have not experience it, but I did want to welcome you to the site. I was told by my bariatric team that more ppl succeed with this surgery when attending some kind of support group. So I'm glad you're here. I have lost 100 lbs twice pre banding and can't believe I had gained it all back and then some, so that part I do understand. Don't beat yourself up. The best part of being banded is you can start over. You know where you made your mistakes (sliders), so I'm sure you'll not do that so much. This whole WLS has a huge learning curve and supporting each other helps. So my suggestion would be to start all over like you just got your band, if your dealing with head hunger, come talk it out here or find a good therapist that can help you work that out. We're all in this together. We can do it! -
A couple of months post banding, my wife insists....
Maddysgram replied to Uncle Ted's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Dr Oz says losing weight does increase the size. If Dr Oz says it, it must be true. I'd google it, but no telling what would pop up, no pun intended. -
Has anyone flipped their port?
Maddysgram replied to bandedally's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My port flipped completely over, no pain at all, only way we found out was couldn't di a fill and fluro showed it upside down. Had revision Jan 236 and all things good. Try not to worry ! -
Thats to bad, sorry. I was doing all the required stuff at the same time as supervised diet and had all my paperwork sent in the day of last visit and got approved in 1wk to the day. I know when we finally make up our mind about doing this, we tend to get in a hurry, but everything will work out. Try to practice LB eating for the next month, and you'll be that much farther ahead. Good Luck!
