Maddysgram replied to Creekwood's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I only had trouble the first 24hrs. After that was able to sleep in my bed on my side and slept very well. Vicodin helped a lot too.lol I do have a sleep number bed, so I was able to make my bed a marshmellow and pillows do help. -
Does anyone wake up with a sore throat?
Maddysgram replied to seeme1954's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wake up every morning with a slight sore throat, pre & po banding. I always start the day with a hot drink and that takes it away. -
What TMF said.

Very normal. Sounds like you had a PB (productive burp) and yes, after getting stuck your esophagus can be aggreviated for awhile. You might have to stick with liquids for a day, go slow. My Dr said not to drink with a stuck and you just proved why. Don't worry, I've done it a few times.

Havent lost any weight on mushies
Maddysgram replied to d9leigh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
TMF is right. Just keep doing what you're suppose to and if the scale freaks you out, STAY OFF OF IT!!! This surgery works, if you follow the plan and don't give up. I've been fighting a plateau for a few weeks now, but I know I'm doing what I'm suppose to and my body will catch up. -

Maddysgram replied to DBRN1972's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I too, had my surgery in Oct, port flipped and had revision surgery Jan 23. My Dr also told me it was very rare and I was his 2 patient in all his years have this happen. I think it is really sewn down good now and hoping for no more surgery. So sorry this has happened to you. Good Luck! -

I FINALLY understand "bandsters hell!"
Maddysgram replied to koolkel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hate to burst your bubble, but it could take months to get you in the zone. Maybe you'll be the lucky one, who doesn't need much. But most take multiple fills to get there. Welcome to "Bandsters Hell" Good thing is, its worth it! -
You're probably still quite swollen, so I can understand the problems you are having. I can't speak on the plication b/c I don't have that. Are you laying down right after eating? That is a no no.Eating late at night? Maybe eating to much? Best thing to do is call your surgeon and discuss this with them. It might be as easy as smaller amounts, more frequently. Good luck

That is common right after surgery, but it doesn't last long. I've heard many a ppl complain about that on this forum. Congrats on banding!

My Fitness Pal here too, it links with my Fitbit. Love the scanner feature, scan barcode and logs nutritional data.

You are never going to get that Thanksgiving kind of full. The LB is a whole different dish of fish. yes, if you are eating until you feel full, you are going to get sick and hurt everytime. Don't get down on yourself. This is a huge learning process. I know ppl at goal that still make mistakes. Give it time! Measure your alloted amount until you know for sure what that looks like. Eat slow, 1min between swallowing and next bite, which means put your fork down. Stop at 20 mins whether you're done or not. Those are the LB rules. Good luck

Nine days post surgery and port poking me
Maddysgram replied to balbuquerque's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It took me months also. I was feeling the same way, thinking I had to live with it the rest of my life. Don't even know its there now, unless I feel for it. I enjoy grossing my kids out by having them feel it,lol The little things in life that tickle me. -
1cup of food? Seems like a lot?
Maddysgram replied to BriannasBand's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
just stick to your Drs oders and you'll be fine. Plus it goes threw the band as you eat, thats why you have to eat sloww, so it doesn't back up and get stuck. -

Maddysgram replied to buckeyegirl4's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
<------ Meet my daughter, she's 58 and was band within the last year. No she's not really my daughter, a great LB friend, but everyone thinks she's my daughter. I think she'd tell you, yes, go for it.
