Pain after surgery
Maddysgram replied to Laurie8855's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first 48hrs is the worst. Every day after that gets better and better.I did think that the port was going to stay tender for as long as I was banded, was very bummed. It took the full 6wks for the tenderness to go away. Thanks to great friends here, they kept me reassured. -
Tell Mr K I need to speak with him.Meet me tonight in our regular spot.lol
-
Constant rash and odor from sweat in skin folds.
-
On my horse? If we went parachuting, you'd push me out of the plane without my chute.j/s

I pray for the day you stop judging yourself. You is kind, you is smart, you is important(especially to me). God don't make junk!
-
WTG! My bucket list only has things like going horseback riding.lol

I too, trust God and like I told my daughter when she decided to sell her house. " If its meant to be, it will be done with no real effort from you". Her house was sold to the first person who walked into it. She found the house of her dreams totally by accident. Its between you and God, not your family members. I pray God will make it totally obvious on what you should do. Love ya sista!

pre-op At the hospital
Maddysgram replied to jsws91's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My pre op took less than 45mins. They go over your history, medications and such. Weigh you, take b/p, blood work and EKG. I didn't have to have a chest x-ray. Good Luck! -
As stated earlier, Kitt was not judging anyone, by calling them out by name. She was frustrated, like many of us and as stated "venting". She's trying to understand where others minds are, what makes others tick. I think its terribly unfair to be judge for doing so. I would hope that anyone is free to ask anything to do with LBS and those that don't like the thread are free to move on. No one gets judged!IMHO

So bummed. Had my appt for revision surgery today...
Maddysgram replied to marfar7's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I'm really sorry Marci, wish I had a great plan for one. Cazzy's plan does sound reasonable 1/2 lb per week. Can you set up some kind of payment plan with the hospital? Like paying the $110. per month, you would have to be paying for Medicare or a small home equity loan? My thoughts and prayers for coming up with a plan are with you. -
First of all, congratulations on your banding! You've come to a great place for support, inspiration and knowledge regarding the band. I hope you stick around and share your successes with us. I have not thrown up once and I hope I don't. Since surgery, I can no longer tolerate Pecans. I get a burning pain in my stomach, but I do not get sick. It took me awhile to figure it out. Funny thing is, I can eat other nuts, just not pecans. I love crushed pecans mixed into my key lime yogurt, but its not worth the pain. Good luck on your journey!

Congratulations! You do whatever keeps it real. Great thread.

BTW, Thats how I got fat in the first place, rewarding myself for whatever I had to suffer through.lol Had a bad car accident, I deserved a doz donuts for my pain and suffering. Gained 30 lbs.lol
-
Rejoice! I even like the sound of the word "rejoice",lol. I don't believe I need to reward myself for something I should have been doing all along.IMHO
-
I believe Kitt was just stating her humble opinion, which she is free to do. She said she was venting and I'd rather someone do that, than hold it in. It is frustrating to think someone went through jumping threw all the hoops, and not take this seriously. Personally I did not undergo serious surgery to not take it seriously. IMHO

"do you not value yourself", was one of the first things I learned before getting banded. I came to a point in my life where I had to put myself front and center. I matter, I'm worth it and no one is going to take care of me, but me. I truly wish, those considering banding or newly banded would work on how important their lives are and how worth it is, to suffer a little to gain a better, healthier life. We are all special. We deserve to be healthy.

Lord God Almighty, Please keep your loving arms around Shannon. Touch her with your healing power and guide her to health.Help her to believe that you will never leave her or forsake her. Your love for her is great. May you get the praise and the glory. In Jesus name, amen!

So sorry to hear about your problems. I wish I had great words of wisdom to help you through this. My only thought would be to eat like a bandster. Measure, count calories and continue drinking the required Fluid level. Remember it takes 3500 cal to gain a pound, keep your calories under that. Best to you!
-
The liquid diet is only for getting you ready for surgery and for healing after surgery. You can not live the rest of your life on a liquid diet. That is not realistic. You need to learn to eat regular food in a healthy manner. No more crazy diet plans, thats how I got fat. Time to eat like skinny ppl do. Best of luck

Until you have enough fills, its going to be a fight. Try to eat protein at every meal and snack. Its the only thing that can help hunger. Tell the head to shut the hell up!lol You are not starving to death.

You are doing great. 30lbs in 3mths. If you are going to let your emotions mess with you, you need to find a therapist, or someone who can help you through that. We all will face stress in our lives. Its up to us to learn a different way to handle it.Exercise, read a book, find a hobby anything but use food. We can support you, but its you that has to help yourself. If I could, I would be there to slap the crap out of your hands before you put it in your mouth, but thats not possible. Make up your mind. Do you want better health? Just do it! My thoughts & prayers for you to find away to deal with pressures. Good luck! -
