definitely not the easy way out!!! Every day is a new day to start over. Don't beat yourself up. Rome wasn't built in a day, we didn't become over weight in a day and we will not lose the weight in a day. Just don't give up.

Yes, call your Dr. In the mean time, like Steph04 said, try drinking more fluid. I know for a fact that when I get just a little dehydrated, I get terribly dizzy. You might want to take water with you. Just a thought.

I totally agree with you, Sharon! Thanks for the reminder. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family! (((hugs)))

well since we're not doctors and it can be almost anything, I'd suggest calling your Dr. A lot of us suffer from constipation and have to take something to help that, but is that your problem, I don't know???? Also after banding sometimes our stomach can't tolerate things we used to eat. When it comes to our stomachs, our dr is to best one to ask. good luck!

That's it. When a meal doesn't keep you satisfied for at least 3-4 hrs, it might be time for a fill. Since its been a year, it is time to see your Dr. Try increasing your protein, until you see your Dr. That might help between meals.

Can't help you there, but you have come to one of the best support groups here. There's a lot of knowledge, support and inspiration right on this forum. So stick around, until you find what your looking for, in your area. My local support group is a combo Gasrtic bypass and LB and the bypass patients think their way is the only right way, so I quit attending. I have gotten great support here for the last 1yr. I couldn't have had the success I have had with LBT. Best of luck

yes, call your Dr. My Dr said that the incisions have to be completely healed and I don't think 12 days in long enough. You really don't want to get infected.

Feeling Tired after 11 Days of Liquid Diet
Maddysgram replied to wadeg7's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Great job, Wade! If it gets really bad, call your surgeon and check with them. I think you will be surprised that after doing 3wks liquid, after your surgery you will be all detoxed and have no cravings for sugary Snacks. You'll do great! -
Yes, the last we heard, she is in the hospital. Missy has not made it a secret that she has MS and between the TT, blood clots and MS, she needs all the prayers she can get. Many here have PM her our personal get well wishes and I hope and pray we hear from her. May we all stand together in prayer, for a speedy recovery!

Maddysgram replied to enjoythetime's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This is all normal. You are still swollen. I was told to try drinking 1oz every 15min. This won't last long and you'll be getting your 64 oz in no time. good luck -

Preparing for surgery?
Maddysgram replied to Justaprettyface's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had clear liquid for a few days. Jello, broth, popsicles, decaf tea and DO NOT forget Chapstick to take to the surgery center. You wake up with terribly dry lips. Best Wishes! -

Preparing for Surgery and the Hospital
Maddysgram replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Thank you, Alex! Without LBT I'm sure I would have been a struggling bandster. I know I have learned more here than any of the other classes I was forced to take. I've made life long friendships. The support system is unmatched to any other. I know, without a doubt, LBT is the reason for my success. I quit going to my local support group because it was a mixed group of all the WLS and most were LB bashers. Not pleasant! What I tell anyone who post their introduction here is "Welcome, you are in the right place for knowledge, support and inspiration." We owe it all to you! My most heart felt appreciation, Janet aka Maddysgram, Madds, Maddawg, dawg -
Where's everyone from?
Maddysgram replied to WheelCrazy's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
On the gulf coast of S.Florida -
Reversible, least invasive and I would die before my time from morbid obesity. My sister had Gastric Bypass, lost all her weight and gained it all back. With any wls, the surgery is just a tool to help you. You have to be committed to making the lifestyle change. Good Luck on your wl journey!

To stay full longer, its all about protein, protein, protein. For fast easy meals, I go for things that are alreaedy prepared and I can just help myself to s serving. I will make chili with ground turkey and after I nuke it, I'll add 1/4c ff plain greek yogurt to really boost the protein. It is super yummy. I also love Taco Soup, loaded with black beans and again ground turkey, I also add the greek yogurt to that too. My all time fave, I have an addiction too is ff plain greek yogurt, reduced fat peanut butter or pb2 (powdered pb) and splenda mixed together. Makes my mouth water just typing this. Notice my theme, FF Greek Yogurt, which I hated yogurt until I was banded. Key Lime with crushed pecans is really good too. Putting up ground turkey burgers, mixed with black beans, another good one. More protein please. With the LB, its all about being prepared. If you can spend a weekend day preparing meals and freezing them, its easier to just grab a serving.

you are too, :P

LOL, thats exactly how I felt for a short minute. My thought was, how could a tumor grow that fast and be the size of my port. When trying to feel if it was like a cyst or something, then I realized , thats your rib, stupid.
-
ps. I wish mine was deeper. Feels rather gross now.lol

Congrats and welcome to the banded side! I had my port flip 3 mths out and before we realized that, I was poked about 14 times while Dr trying to find port. It did not hurt at all. Dr kept apologizing and I kept say " not a problem, don't worry". Finally I had to go to hospital for a fluro and yep, port turned upside down. Since having it fixed, it still doesn't hurt. Try not to worry about it. Its really not as bad as it sounds.

Has anyone had a port revision?
Maddysgram replied to MandaMom23's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had a revision 3mths out b/c of a flipped port. It was a lot easier then the actual LBS. When my daughter picked me up at the hospital, she said " you don't look like you just had surgery", nurse said " she does look good, doesn't she". My Dr said a flipped port is really uncommon, you're more likely to have a leaking tube. I was only his 2nd pt to have this happen, out of hundreds. Good luck!
