I would think second Doctor could tell by an x-ray. Either your stomach is folded or it isn't... Also insurance company should be able to tell you.

CG is right. We pay our surgeon's big bucks to take care of us. My surgeon even gives an emergency #. It would take 2 sec.for them to tell you if you need to worry. Make the call.

Hi Allen, Not from that area, but I asked my PCP for a recommendation and I'm very happy where he sent me. Did you ask your Dr? Congrats on losing 60 lbs on your own, sounds like you'll do very well. Good luck & keep us posted. Post here often, a lot of knowledgeable people here.

I have Aetna and yes I needed a letter of medical necessity. It's no big deal. Just a statement that my weight is going to kill me if I continue down this path.

You're doing great Jim, but I have to agree that 898 calories is not enough for a man.I think 1200-1300 is a little low. My dietician gave our group 1500 for women and 1800 for men. Getting an appt. with your nutritionist is a good idea.
