Keep Fussing And I Will Keep Posting!!! Love Ya!!!
Maddysgram replied to shrcumm's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
It's a shame for judging LBT.com by reading one thread. You will be missing out on a lot of knowledge, inspiration & support. Every once in awhile one of our own will be attacked by someone and we come to their defense, but all in all we will support each other. Sch was not pushing her believes on anyone. I'm in agreement with most, if you don't like the thread, move on. I love LBT.com I've learn so much & have made some wonderful friends. Sorry you're not giving it a chance. -
Jacki, on a previous post you said the list your doctor gave you said you can have fresh fruits * veggies, not cereal. If in doubt call your doctor to clarify what he wants you to eat. He gets paid well to answer all your questions. Good Luck!

Seminar Was Tonight....
Maddysgram replied to JhonnieB's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It will move fast enough. Educate yourself as much as possible before the actual surgery. I was in a hurry 6mths ago to get the ball rolling, but looking back I really didn't know as much as I needed to do this successfully. I read somewhere that all this information comes at you so fast that you don't have time to absorb it. It really does! Spend time on this forum and read everything you can about the band. You'll be ready when the time is right. Good luck on your WL journey! -
I need double knee replacement. Just the thought of squats hurts!!!LOL

You can do this, boyfriend or not!!! This is about your health. Do something for YOU!!!! If you're a little bitchy b/c of pre-op diet, he just needs to understand. YOU CAN DO THIS!!! If you want it bad enough.

Atnea & 6 Month Supervised Diet
Maddysgram replied to Krystle Austin's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have read on here that WW does count if you have documentation. As long as it was consecutively. I almost had to start over because me Dr. went on vacation and I was going to miss an appt in July. My bariatric office caught it at the last minute and I was able to see a Doctor filling in for him. I would have been really ripped if I had to start over. -
Omg What Did I Do?
Maddysgram replied to aferreira14's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What did " 1 shake for breakfast & ate outside my diet for supper" come down to?? No lunch??? I really don't know what to say, other than I hope it works out for you. Sometimes a mistake doesn't matter and sometimes it means no surgery. I hope in your case it mean it didn't matter. My only thought is, if you can't follow pre-op are you going to be able to follow post-op? It's really important that you follow your Doctor's instructions to work your band. This is not a magic bullet, it's a choice to work your band according to your Doctors instructions. I hope & pray for the best for you!! -
Too Heavy? Psychiatric Clearance?
Maddysgram replied to wants2lose's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You're not to heavy. If you follow this forum you will see there are a lot of people heavier than you. That being said, you do have to have your mind in the game. Lapband is Not a magic surgery that you have and the weight is just going to fall off. It's a tool that has to be worked properly and if your mind isn't in the game it won't work. I suggest you continue with your psychiatrist and make sure you know what is involved with the LB. Best wishes to you on this journey! -
Atnea & 6 Month Supervised Diet
Maddysgram replied to Krystle Austin's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have Aetna and that is exactly what I had to do. If you have 6mths of consecutive supervised diet with PCP they will except that. I did not and had to start at day one(just finished 6mths). My bariatric surgeon did handle everything. They stayed in contact with PCP. Psych Eval sent report to surgeon. Right now surgeon just sent all of above requirements to insurance for approval. Now I wait!!!! This is a good time for you to educate yourself on the Lapband. It's not a magic cure to weight loss, but a tool that has to be used properly. Good luck on your journey and post often! -
