Just like any other "take weight off quickly", it won't last.

When did you find out your surgery day?
Maddysgram replied to love2flyball's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
They scheduled my surgery the day they got ok from Insurance Co and it was scheduled 2wks out.My surgeon only had access to OR 1 1/2 days per week. -
LOL, Sorry, no bubbles.Storm came through, but all is well now. Yes, it was the Missouri Star Quilt Company. Wonderful tutorials on Youtube.

Good for you girl!

About as fair as JackieO posting outdated statistics as fact.j/s Jean's statement is closer to fair, being statistics show weight gain after band removal. I hope and pray your lifestyle change does stick. I'd like to think that also.

Keys to success with Lap Band
Maddysgram replied to BigOBoy123's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with this. Plus following a healthy eating plan. If you have something extra wine, ice cream etc., count it. I also firmly believe in regular support, which recently my Dr said how pleased he was, that I find my support here. He said "that more ppl do well with the band being with a support group". -
Terri, I just ordered a queen size quilt pattern from ConnectingThreads.com. Its called Parisian Nights. I have been looking for a quilt for Ange & Evan and this was in American Patchwork & Quilting, August issue. I fell in love with it, the minute I saw it. They had a promo code for 20% off $51 no shipping fee.yippee I couldn't buy all the fabric, backing & stuff for that price.

Dawn, we have the same thing with the hail, tornado warnings etc. Stay safe my dear! My girls always txt their momma when they are home safely.hint hint... I have a trick to help battle the chocolate, it is full of bugs and terrible other things. Thats why they're giving it away. Can't sell candy with creepy crawlers in it. Ewwwww

I need some advice about getting my weight moving again.
Maddysgram replied to kileybug34's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've been threw a few plateaus and they are discouraging, but eventually the weight does start coming off again. I just figure, it is what it is. My Dr said, I can't expect the weight to come off like it did at first, just hang in there. You're looking great, so you're doing what needs to be done. Try not to get discouraged -
Dont laugh at me...
Maddysgram replied to solson8201's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wore a cute new house dress and flip flops.I bought a few and wore them all day, everyday until my 2wk post op visit. I always wear flip flops.lol -
I did a really stupid thing..... I got some Dulcolax stool softeners (tmi), don't want to end up in ER impacted and I don't want to take a laxative every day. Makes it hard to go anywhere. Anyways, when I got home with them, I realized they were gel caps and I know they won't go threw without getting stuck. Smart me decided, I'll bite into it and wash the liqiud down with water, like I do with my Tylenol. FYI, do not ever do that!!!! It has burned the crap out of my throat and made any drink or my lunch taste awful. Its been 2hrs and the burning is letting up. But boy, how dumb! I can't imagine how that would feel stuck and disolving around my stoma, ouch. Needless to say, back to the regular laxative.

Dee, whats the kids up to today? Hows CJ? I had to take my 91yo friend to an eye appt early this morning and the rest of the day is mine. Thats what lack of sleep does for me, makes me lazy. Where are you with pre, post menopause? Probably much to busy to notice.lol Hugs to the best mom I the world. Diane, so glad you checked in. We were all worried. Hugs and prayers to you and yours.

Nicole, Great job on staying where you're comfortable and being able to tell the difference between head hunger and real hunger. Sometimes its hard for me to tell. The only time I know its head hunger is after just eating and knowing there's no way I could be so hungry. I noticed that if I have the slightest bit of sugar, gives me the hungry horrors the next day. That's my head hunger, just don't eat sugar. It is amazing you have no complaints, other than your clothes falling off.lol You do know, if you have any problems, we're here for you.

Michelle I could kiss you!! I have tried the mosquito donut things and even have a mosquito propane powered contraption, neither seem to do any good. I'm running out there with powdered detergent right after I finish my post here. If anything, it has to make the Water smell better.lol I do have the things to make mosquito catchers I pinned off of pinterest, but I just know the raccoons will just come and dump them out. Little suckers turn over my plants all the time. They're lucky I believe we are all creatures of God, or I'd take a few of them out. Carole, the plants I lost were just cheap annuals, so no big deal. I too, had another bad night. I think maybe got 3hrs sleep. I can't think straight when I'm tired. I can't afford to lose anymore brain cells. Dawn, Great job resisting all the crap at work. Its funny insurance companies are offering cheaper insurance for eating healthier and businesses are allowing employee's to advertise their crap. Bring it to work, but keep it in your desk, or out of sight.j/s My husband does that, but its only b/c he doesn't want to share.lol Terri, I heard you were reported to Alex again. She is furious that when someone is blocked, they can reply to your post. I'm sure Alex is tired of hearing it. What happened to" if you don't like it, move on and ignore it"? When she told me that crap, I just ignored it.Not my problem and not going to make it my problem. I was wondering what Alex would do, ban you???? I thought this was a drama free zone.lol

Nicole, Glad you had a good time at the concert. I like sitting in crowded places, ppl watching.lol You wonder 1. do they own a mirror 2. do they really think thats flattering 3. Really!!! I know thats judgemental, but like to try and figure out whats in ppl's minds. Diane, Where are you???? We all think of you often. Hope everything is working out for you.

I'm ok, just feeling my age I guess. I didn't do much of anything, went and sat at Ange's house and waited for Comcast to hook up tv & internet. Paula and kids came with and swam in the pool. I came home exhausted! I've had a few days of sweating, freezing, sweating, freezing, day & night. Menopause, you gotta love it....not I think its also causing my band to go tight and loosen, tight & loosen too. Dawn, Good job on doing well with your food. Sorry about the cramps, when they're done it don't get any easier, sooorrryyy. I have lost some plants. I waded back there yesterday and the standing Water stinks. I worked fast and hard watering the hanging plants. The mosquitoes are atrocious! Carole, So happy to hear about Sushi. Glad she's back home with you. When are they starting your kitchen? Did you decide which granite you're going with. Terri, I'm not sure if you're coming or going with the Fitbit. I think thats a great challenge you and Frank have going. Dee,Prayers for CJ, poor guy. Paula took Maddy in pool today and at first Maddy gave the look that said "this ain't the 90º therapy pool" . But after the initial chill, she had a good time. Michelle, Paula's middle name. Glad you had fun at the amusement park. Best part is what you and Dee described as fitting comfortably in the seats. Made me smile. I always love the good eats finds you share with us.

Emergency defill?
Maddysgram replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No, It was a husband and wife on here, who had it done at the same time. He did well and she was in bad shape. They unfilled her and she was still having problems, so they went in an unbuckled the band and waited for swelling to go down and then rebuckled it empty. I haven't seen them on here for a while, but the last time I heard, they were both fine. -
I had one a few years before banding. They started with the treadmill, knowing I had bad knee's and was prepared to switch to chemical stress. But I did it, was so worried, but it was not a problem. They found out my B/P was going all over the place and was pit on medication. Approx. 4mths into banding, I no longer take B/P medicine, yeah.

Continued prayers for Sushi!!!! Terri, glad you're home safe and sound.

Emergency defill?
Maddysgram replied to Wanna-Be-Healthy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My Dr does not put any fill in during surgery. I was thankful for that, b/c any surgery I have ever had, I had more swelling than usually expected. Dr once said "they could write a book about your swelling". I would have had trouble like you, glad I didn't. I'd just be glad that you could have Fluid removed. I've heard of ppl being so swollen without fluid, that they had to go back in and unbuckle the band. You'll get small fills, as you need them. IMO, the way they should be given. Fills, unfills, wouldn't want to do that. Slow and easy for me. Good luck on your journey! -
Love & Peace to you, Sharon! One of my favorite songs Jesus Culture- One Thing Remains, check it out on youtube.

I don't understand why you hang here, if you loathe everyone so much? We really don't mind hearing about bands not working, but when ppl start posting old out of date info and claiming it to be true, kinda gets under our skin. Fact is there are a few complications , ask msmaui, that are no fault of the patient. But the majority of complications are from non compliance. So if you want ppl to say, its ok, eat & drink whatever you want and as much as you want and the problems you are having with your band is the bands fault, not yours. That's just not going to happen.

Me, Finally getting back to my baby quilt, yeah My prayers are with you all!
