Ga Girl Newbie Who Looooves Food!
Maddysgram replied to Marybell's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Marybell, Welcome to LBT.com.There's a lot of knowledge, inspiration & support here. Stick around! I think "liking food" is common with all of us,lol. I would highly suggest you take this next 10wks(if your Drs behind is correct) and get to know everything you can about the band. Knowledge is power. I'm quite a bit older than you and I only wish I had done this sooner. Sorry about losing all the important women in your life. Yes, you have to get health for your girls. Hope to see you around here a lot. We're here for you! Best Wishes! -
Really sorry to hear that Lisa. I don't understand why insurance company's choose to pay for treatments like B/P, Diabetes, heart disease & strokes instead of stopping it before it gets to that point. Hopefully you can choose another policy at enrollment time. Best wishes!

This was really a good question! I would have never gave it a thought. Thanks! Recently my GD needed an MRI but she has a clip in her heart and it took 6mths to find out what kind of metal they used. If it was a real emergency not knowing this could cause a problem.

Congratulations on weight loss! My granddaughter is onMiralax . She has been since birth (her stomach doesn't work), you can adjust the dosage to get the results you need, but please, please please talk to your Dr. first. Good luck!

New To This Website, Just Got My Lapband On Tuesday 8/28/12
Maddysgram replied to Cpvillacis's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That was the best advice you could give. Well said! "Listen to your Dr or dietician". Congratulations on starting your new journey everyone!!!! -
Really sorry you are going through this. Thoughts & prayers for a speedy recovery. I have a 12 yo granddaughter whose stomach has never worked since birth. She has a G&J tube for feeding and does very well. So I know how frustrating this must be for you. Hang in there!

Maybe I haven't been banded yet, but I have spent everyday for 6mths educating myself to avoid such things happening. I've read numerous books, articles and listening to the pros on this forum. Basically Sojo (whom I consider a pro) pretty much backed me up. She just said it better. I also apologized and explained I wasn't trying to hurt her feelings. If she had started her question with "generally speaking". I would have understood her from the get go. So you don't really know me, or if I'm educated enough to respond. So it goes to show your remark was really off base. J/S

Didn't mean to make you feel bad and I wasn't going for any laugh's. I'm sorry if that's the way you took it. I just wanted you to do what your Dr. ordered. Most Drs say between 1/2 to 1 cup of food and that's what I was getting across to you. Don't over eat and follow Drs. orders, period.
