Fear Of Losing Weight And Denial
Maddysgram replied to Lapbandster's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I've had the opposite problem. I never felt obese until I saw my reflection. If I never saw myself in a mirror, I never realized I was fat. It wasn't until my knees went south that I realized I had a problem. -
The best thing you can do is research & educate yourself. I haven't been banded yet, but yes I expect gas pain. I had a hysterectomy 15yrs ago and I remember walking up & down my driveway at 2am. Everyone will have gas pain but walk ,walk, walking will help. PS I only had to do it one night

Starting My Wl Journey
Maddysgram replied to Kizimodoe's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Welcome to LBT.com! The best advice I can give you is educate yourself as much as possible before surgery. There's a lot of great books including Bandwagon, written by our very own Jean (you can find her on the boards and she writes for the LBT.com magazine board). WLS for Dummies is another. Also stalking this forum is very educational. Have a question, ask. Knowledge is power! Good luck on your journey! Hope to see you around! -

I'm like Sojo, can only exercise in pool. I'm waiting on double knee replacement. The pool is wonderful. Sometimes I don't realize how hard I've worked out until I have problems getting out of the pool.

I think if someone wasn't nervous there is something wrong with them ,lol. You can do this! Yep, there is good and bad stories, but if you've done your homework you would know the odds are on your side. The odds of dying from problems from obesity out way the odds of surgery. Can't wait to hear about your success!

Way to soon to throw in the towel. Go for your fill and ask to speak with your nutritionist. Are you journaling? I know you can do this! It might take awhile but you CAN do this!!!!
