New And Happy To Be Here
Maddysgram replied to Joy1961's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Joy! I bet at least half the people on here have had a hernia repair at time of banding, so don't worry about that. I've had a hernia for years and they really don't do anything about them, but I know with LB it's important to repair it. I'm having surgery 10/15 after 6mths of supervised diet, psych eval & healthy eating class my insurance required. Welcome to the forum! You'll learn a lot and find a lot of support too. Best wishes on your journey! -
May God's peace and healing be with you tomorrow and always, Amen! Can't wait to here about your success

Ah, I thought you were in Australia. We flew into Johannesburg and stayed a couple of days and then out into the bush. I really wish everyone could do Africa at least once in their lifetime. -

Maddysgram replied to Harrier's Woman's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
My 11yo granddaughter had this same surgery minus the lapband(had drainage tubes from shunts from brain placed) and she had Tylenol once, day after surgery and was happy & laughing the next day. Same incisions as LB. I hope on Oct 15 I will do her proud! -

After reading this makes me very happy I have who I have. They are all so nice! -
Not only would I do what Line Dancer said, but mention to the Dr how PA makes you feel. They are there to help you, not hinder you. Either that or find a new Dr.

Non-Successful Lap Band Surgery
Maddysgram replied to Ellen Isaacs-Santulli's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Really sorry about all the problems you've been going through. I hope things straighten around soon My 12yo granddaughter has a G&J tube b/c of delayed gastric emptying. Something she's had from birth, 1lb 2 oz. She's 65 lbs now and is doing really well. I'm going to talk with my daughter and see if gastric bypass might be something that could help her at some point. Good luck to you! -

Not biopsy, autopsy.

Dr Oz had a great show on yesterday about binge eating and you would not believe how much you can stretch your stomach. He showed xrays & biopsy pictures. My thought is the pouch or lower stomach are still stretchable. The upper pouch can stretch by eating to fast and to much. If your eating in that way it gets backed up and then starts stretching.
