All Drs are different. That's something you'll hear a lot around here. My Dr requires 30 days of full liquids, yeah!!!

Sorry about your problems too, but I wouldn' t worry about pissing off the PA, he does not have a MD behind his name. Also PA's almost killed my granddaughter b/c sometimes they think they're smarter than they really are. My daughter now does not let her see any PA. She is a very complicated child. My Dr didn't require a liquid diet, but a 1200 cal diet 2wks before surgery. I have been dieting all through my required 6mth diet and had lost 19lbs and 6 wks ago I was seeing surgeon and he asked that I lose 5 more lbs, that was 10 lbs ago so not really worried about 1200 cal diet, but I will continue doing what I've been doing, down another lb today. Down 30lbs so far.

Its good that you recognized that you were using food to feel good, but now you have to figure out a different stress reliever, like going for a walk, tearing into a closet that needs cleaning. Any thing but food. Best wishes

Usually its NPO from midnight the day of surgery. NPO nothing to eat or drink
