It always makes my day to hear from everyone. Happy Sunday Fathers Day! Di, so glad to hear from you. I can understand your pain.My grandma did the same thing to my Aunt. That was before you heard about dementia or alzheimers. Hurt my Aunt deeply! Hang in there and take care of yourself. I expect Terri & Carole to give you a big hug from me on the 26th. Dee, I just read this in a magazine this morning and I wanted to share it with you. It came to me that every time I lose a dog, they take a piece of my heart with them, and every new dog who comes into my life gives me a piece of their heart. If I live long enough all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are. ~anonymous I think your heart already has all the components, Dee.

In all reality, it can take a few fills before you get the restriction you need. Make sure you eat all your Protein first, that is what keeps you satisfied longer. This is what we call " bandster hell", right now, its just another diet. Do the best you can, keep busy and drink a lot of sf liquids. Hot Drinks do help. My go to is sf hot chocolate. When you feel the hunger, pick up a glass of Water. Good luck!

I would use the PM, safest & secure. I do have friends that I gave my email address to, but it took months and months of talking before doing that.

I have been constipated since surgery 8mths ago. Good luck! -
I do the CVS chewables. They don't list the calories, but I like them. Calcium Chewables 600mg Plus, with Vit D & Minerals.

8 mths post op, I have no problem on what I eat, but still struggle with the speed and size of what I put in my mouth. Sometimes I swallow something and right away think uh oh, I didn't chew that very well. The band is quick to remind me. I does take awhile for the brain to catch up to the band.

I'm not a Dr, but since all your test are normal, I would guess its what, how much and how your eating your food. Sounds like stuck episodes, from either too big a bite, not chewing enough or eating to fast or all of the above and once you have an episode like this, sometimes you have to do just liquids for a couple days until the swelling goes down. Believe me, I know from experience. I got stuck the other day from eating GoLean Crunch too fast, it hurt for 2days and the only way to get it to stop, was to stop with solid foods until it healed. Its worth giving it a try. First heal, use Protein shakes, eat yogurt and mushy foods for a day of two, then go back to regular food, take really small bites, chew like crazy and wait a minute between bites. I also found out certian foods I could eat before, I now can't, like pecans. I suggest keeping a food journal of what you ate, how much and how it made yoj feel. I would never force food down, while in pain. That never works. Good luck, I hope you can find some answers.

I would definitely give him a call and ask, just to ease your mind. Good luck!

Congratulations! Many would say you have been blessed, lol. Thats why its hard for us to tell someone how its going to be, everyone is different. Now if you can only be blessed enough, not to need any fills.lol Best wishes on your new journey to better health.

I certainly can't "like" that Michelle.. I am so sorry this is happening to your family. I hope either your daughter leaves him or they get serious couples counseling. I think you have figured out away to handle this, by running. Try to do something non food to cope. And don't beat yourself up for slipping and sliding through this mess. This is a huge stress factor. We're all moms here, we can relate. The sad thing is your daughter may work this out, but it will stay with mom F O R E V E R. My thoughts and prayers for all of you!

Bridesmaid dress help!

and the more you stress, the more you want to turn to food to relieve it. I too, would go with the bigger size. It can be taken in, if need be. -
2nd port revision done today
Maddysgram replied to Bigboyjess's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Sorry to hear that you had to have a second revision. I hope this mesh thing does the trick. I had to have a revision 3mths out, like you, it had flipped. My Dr also said it was very rare. I was only his second patient out of hundreds, this had happened to. He also said mine was b/c the scar tissue had not had enough time to develop and help hold it in place. I certainly hope that same scar tissue doesn't cause it to flip again.lol I would definitely have a second revision. Good luck and thank you for sharing your experience. -
The good news for you,Donna is that you recognized you had a problem and doing everything you can to defeat it. Some ppl never admit they have a problem and need help. My sister had a gastric bypass years ago b/c of her food addiction. She lost a lot of weight, but didn't fix the head problem that caused her to use food for comfort. Since she couldn't use food for comfort, she turn to alcohol and has become a case of beer per night person and gained all her weight back. She traded one addiction for another. She wants a band over bypass, but the Dr won't do it, b/c it won't fix her head. It is very sad and until they admit they have a problem, all we can do is pray for them and not in able them. Like your ex, my sister looks terrible. She sent a family picture at my mothers 85 birthday, my mother looked in better health than my sister. Sometimes ppl have to hit rock bottom, before they can see their way up. That's where I was, literally did not want to live another day in the pain I was in. The Lord heard my prayers and made away for me to get the help I needed and I now have my life back. If I need comforting, I now turn to something that can't hurt me. Like I shared with you before, getting in touch with the beauty around me,in my own backyard, or just giving a stranger a few minutes of my day. May all those that have an addiction find peace within themselves, so they may live the life that they were meant to live.

Looking good, congrats!

LOL, don't think I'll be doing that tour. I wouldn't be able to resist choc. chip cookies either. Great job, it could have been oh so much worse.

My Dr said "the first 48hrs is the worst" and he was right. Everyday after that got better and better. Hang in there, its worth it. Congratulations fellow bander!

Gastric Band Not Best Choice for Christie?
Maddysgram replied to JACKIEO85's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Well said girls! Since the news broke about Gov. Christie, I have felt nothing but anger to those who choose to judge him and his decisions. This was his personal , should have been private decision, no one elses.Where was the hippa laws and who broke them? The media should be ashamed of their selves. I wish he would join us here, so we can support him. -
When Your Bandwagon Stalls
Maddysgram replied to Jean McMillan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
By now, you know I love your articles. Keep'em coming!!!!! -
The first few days are the hardest. Your body is dumping all the toxic junk in your system. If you can just hang on, that will pass. Keep busy, drink as much as you can, go for a walk. You can do this.Don't allow yourself to think you can't.

I never felt reflux, but I had what they call "silent reflux". Gastrointerologist told me"no dairy". Thats when he put me on 2 Prilosec a day. My endoscopy showed erosion to the point of near esophageal cancer. Thats why I'm always telling ppl not to ignore reflux. Have you had an endoscopy, Carole?

Dawn, The mosquitoes were still pretty thick last night. Even though I'm treating my standing Water, the rest of swampy FL is not. If our county could send the helicopters up and start spraying, we might get a handle on it. They tend to start at the end of summer. Go figure! I'm hoping to ride my bike this weekend. My knee blew out at VS yesterday, was ready to offer a stranger $20 to wheel me out to my car. But I limped slowly out, ppl watching me and feeling very self conscious. By the time I got to my car, I had worked it out and just a little sore today. By tomorrow it should be back to "normal", whatever that is. Did you get your new seat? I do have a nice padded seat.
