I just found out this morning that my Dr determines this between patients. I was at my last educational class before next Monday's surgery and each of us had a different diet. 2 were doing shakes and I'm on a 1200 cal low carb diet. I thought the Drs kept all their patients on same plan, but no.

Just came from my last educational appt before surgery next Monday and they did say to go only to the two ER's they're affiliated with. Like Sojo, pass up my 2 local ERs. Good to know you can throw up blood and it doesn't mean you're dying. But get it checked. Hope you're feeling better!

You know I have been on so many diets in my 56yrs I can't even count. You lose 50lbs, you gain 70 lbs, I lose 100 gain 120. I would refuse any new fad diet. Can you live the rest of your life on a liquid diet, no. That means as soon as you stop, back comes the weight plus some. I agree with Mis73, you have the tool. Maybe it needs some tweaking, but it is something that can work.

The LB pamphlet says 1-2 lbs per week, so I think they are being a little unreasonable.

Donna, You do have a lot on your plate. I know what you're saying about mom. My mom is 85 and just like you, we get along really well & I love her very much, but sometimes when things are tough they can get on your last nerve.lol I'm sure I do that with my grown daughters. When they have a problem, mothers tend to want to fix it, instead of just listen. I'm sure your divorce has been very depressing to you also. Throw in eating changes. I do know about the restriction issues b/c I have research LBS extensively. I 'm being banded Oct 15.
