Glad you're doing well . Congratulations on making goal and being an inspiration (in more ways than one) to the rest of us. You Rock, and stand on the rock! Love you GF!

Good morning ladies, I had a really good nights sleep last night, even with my 1hr nap last evening.lol Need to spray on the mosquito repellent and Water my garden. Weatherman keeps calling for rain everyday, but not getting it. Today is another good chance, but poor plants are all shriveled, they can't take another hot FL day, without water. I think the laundry soap stopped the breeding, but dealing with what was already hatched. Don't like using insecticide, afraid of killing caterpillars and butterflies. Dawn, I am so excited for Erika. This experience will stay with her the rest of her life. LOL, I can't even tell you what I had eaten in Africa, but it was made by executive chefs and excellent. Gained 15 lbs, they eat every 2hrs., whether you're on safari or not. Carole, good thing you two didn't get pulled over by the police. I can see you both on the side of the road, doing a sobriety test.lol Sounds like they will be beautiful. I wonder where I can find some around here? Will google. Di, Sorry about your sad. I'd be sad too, like I was when Evan and Ange moved into their new house. Lol they are only 30mins away. And poor Carole having her family so far away now and son going to Afghanistan. Please give her a BIG HUG from me, when you meet. It is what it is and we must be greatful we get them when we can. Going to the zoo with grandkids had to be a blast. Have to go looking for pictures, I didn't see. Terri, thank you for your input. I will definitely check it out. Ange has already claimed any and all quilts I make. She says, I couldn't possibly run out of having too many quilts. She is like her momma "loves quilts". Do you do Pinterest? I have hundreds of pins of quilts, blocks, tutorials, , templates etc.... Ask Nicole, she pins funny stuff and good recipes. Nicole, best of luck at work tomorrow. I'd be interested in knowing if anyone notices anything. If they don't, no big deal. I had to be down 30lbs before anyone noticed anything. Happy pinning, lol. I love your stuff. Sorry I only pin boring stuff. Michele, whatcha wearing to work tomorrow? lol Prayers for acing your exams. Hope you have a relaxing Sunday. Dee, Hope everything is well with you and the family. Whats the plans after church today? Hows CJ? I forgot to tell you all, I am making plans to meet Sharpie, next time I go to Gainesville. She lives 45mins north of there. She has horses and thats on my bucket list, to ride a horse. She's 10yrs older than me and if she can ride a horse, why can't I. After all, I can ride a Harley, I know how to hang on.lol

Everyone is different when it comes to fills. Some never need a fill, they have restriction from the get go. Others could get the restriction with any number of fills. Like I stated, it took 4 fills for me. First one was 6wks out, month later my port flipped so had revision surgery and fill at that time, that was 3mths post op, 6wks later a fill and a month later another fill , which hit the spot, 7mths post op. By following my Drs diet, I continued to lose throughout. Now its just easier. I like that my Dr is conservative and I never have had to go back for an unfill. Don't get discourage on the time it could take.

I agree with everything everyone has said. I only wanted to add, that until you get enough fills, it will be just another diet. It took 4 fills for me. When you're hungry and meal time is over, drink your fluids.

How often do you weigh yourself?
Maddysgram replied to Nurse_B's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I totally agree with TheB. I weigh first thing every morning. -
After my surgery, I did have sore muscles and after watching the surgery done on Youtube, I understand why. The Drs spread your legs wide, so they can work from between your legs. If you're waking up with muscle cramps, I would have to agree with Potassium depletion, more fluids.

I don't think it was so much "greasy" foods. Probably more how you ate the fries, two big of bite, not chewing enough, or you just can't tolerate your potatoes that way. Whenever I have eaten a fry or two, I have to take very small bites, chew it really good and wait a minute between bites.
-
I've had to stop this same thing. No eating in the car, ever...lol

Nausea seems to be often
Maddysgram replied to pastor o's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sojo is absolutely right. If I remember correctly, you were posting about diarrhea yesterday, which will mean you need twice as much fluids. Calling your Dr is in the cards for you. -
Really need help LOVING my band again!!!
Maddysgram replied to sboshell's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I was just going to suggest the fluro fill. Sounds like you have been too tight and maybe eating more slider foods, Soups, mush things etc. There is a lot of us who will agree completely about stress and anxiety tightening the band. Thats why I want to stay a little to the loser side, to be able to handle the stress tightening. I want to be able to eat solid protiens. Good luck with your fluro. Let us know how things work out. -
I just had surgery 6/20/13. Having trouble getting in all the drinks.
Maddysgram replied to jeanbean1024's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
You still have a lot of swelling, just do the best you can. The chest pain is from pills getting stuck, which also causes more swelling. Cut your pills up or have Dr get liquid meds for you. I still have to empty one of my capsules 8mths out. Do look at rx info and make sure they can be crushed. Every day things will get easier. Congratulations fellow bandster! -
Everyone is different, so do not compare to anyone else.It will drive you crazy. The first 6wks is for healing, not losing weight. Keep following your Drs orders, measure your portions, track and make sure you're deinking your fluids. Congratulations on joining the banded side!

Count on it. I put your email addy in my phone. I usually see my mom every 3mths and I'm due to visit probably middle of July.

Sounds like everyone had a nice Saturday. Dawnn, thank you for sharing Erika's picture. The girls look so young. Don't tell Erika, but she looks like a little girl. She'll appreciate that when she gets older. Brad is truly a dear. Glad you get to spend some time with him soon. Michelle, I know you will ace those exams, as hard as you study. How marvelous to shop in someone's closet. It really doesn't make sense to spend money on clothes you'll only wear one season. So happy for you! Carole, you are absolutely right about staying on schedule. Eating so late just doesn't cut it. Sorry you got off kilter. Did you and Jack have a date night? I was thinking, now that he's retired, everyday is a date.lol Where are you, Terri & Di meeting on Wednesday? Can't wait for pictures. Terri, by tomorrow I will have my binding on and moving on to another baby quilt. I got the queen size kit I ordered. I really can't wait to start it. The instructions are amazingly easy. Even a blueprint of how to cut it. Thinking strongly of selling my machine and buying a new one. I really like my machine for clothes making and piecing, but neck not long enough. What model would you suggest? Ange and I ran around this morning for a few things we needed. Then we hung out around her pool. Water was chilly, getting lots of rain. But really enjoyed it. Came home and watched two movies at the same time, with my husband. Yep, every commercial he'd switch between the movies. At 6:30 I layed down on the sofa, just for a minute and was out in a flash. I really didn't want to fall asleep, but it was a nice short nap. Hope everyone has a great Sunday!

I live 100 miles south of Tampa. My mom & sis live in Gainesville and I've camped at the Suwannee River camp up there.I love that area! One day we'll have to hook up for lunch or something.

Well I didn't drink my hot chocolate before bed and here I lay wide awake. I had a really late dinner and just stayed up long enough to make it a couple hours before going to bed.

Just hours after surgery.
Maddysgram replied to BigOBoy123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congratulations fellow bandster! Yep, gas pains suck, but it won't last long. My dr said worst is 48hrs and he was right. Everyday after that gets better and better. Walking is the best thing you can do. Heating pad helps when too tired to walk. Don't forget to sip sip sip Water between walking.lol You have just made the best decision of your life. -
Who was the toughest person you decided to tell about getting the band?
Maddysgram replied to aviva1979's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My husband. After getting up the nerve, he said "whatever you want to do". After talking to his office wife, he did try talking me out of it, but they didn't do the research I did. PS. Office wife wanted it, but negative internet crap, stopped her. Wait until she see's me.... -
Carole, your FB picture has me soooooo jealous. I hate being jealous.
-
Brother something, too lazy to see what model. But computerized with 50 different stetches. I was looking at different long arm machines today.

So Guymontag, whats your fancy?
