NC is one of my favorite vacation spots. It would not hurt me in the least to come up there and kick ass. I remember being 16yo and 122 and thinking I was so fat and going on a strick diet. Now 40 yrs later, the rest of the story.....

Can I Push A Bowel Movement Out??
Maddysgram replied to kittylove32's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yep, don't push really hard. The laxative will work believe me. Drink a lot of water. Worse comes to worse, ask Dr about Fleet Enema or Glycerine Suppositories. -
I was banded Oct 15 and after that first week, I felt the same way for awhile. I'd run some errands and be exhausted. Good news is it didn't last long. Make sure your staying hydrated and getting your protein shakes.

Thats why you have to like what you have on the inside. I don't think we'll ever look in a mirror and totally love what we see. I just look this morning and said to myself "yep, your face is getting thinner, but now you need a facelift, which isn't going to happen". I also know I will not like looking at my saggy skin, but I'll like covering that up. Can't cover up my face. LOL Point is, I will never be a 10, but I love who I am! I AM SPECIAL!

Remember we all are unique. There's not one person like us. No one has your fingerprints, only you. Isn't that amazing, all the people in the world, present or past, and you are different. That's what makes us SPECIAL Love your uniqueness! I am special!

I'm two weeks out and I'm allowed creamed soups & blended vegetables. Tonight I made my Taco Soup minus the meat. Put it through the blended. So good, I feel I cheated, but I didn't. Real food, yummy!
-
Ewwww, don't eat baby food, that's gross.lol I just made a big pot of Taco soup and put a cup in the blender. Much better then baby food. You can make all kinds of vegetable dishes and put them in a blender. Fat free refried beans, black beans. FF ricotta, marinara,ff cheese warmed in microwave.

Sciatic Nerve/back Pain After Losing Weight
Maddysgram replied to Lola184's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Fun story. I reply earlier to this threat I was pre-op at the time. I told you how I have had sciatic problems and then a car accident messed the rest of me up. Well when I went in for my LB, my sciatic was so bad I was laying with my hand under my hip to relieve the pain. They took me back to surgery and when I woke up the first thing I said was please take the pillow from behind my head. My neck was killing me and it continued for 3 days. The LBS was nothing compared to my neck pain. After swelling went down I no long have my neck & shoulder problems that I have been suffering with for months and therapy for months and I no longer had the sciatic pain either. My Sleep Number bed is my best friend again. I feel like I got a 2 for 1 with my surgery. I heard the recovery nurse tell another nurse they had a hard time with the air tube.I think what happened is, they manipulated my neck while I was out and relieved a pinched nerve. 9 months of pain and all I needed was lapband surgery. Go figure! -

I Need To Start Over,i Can Use Your Help And Tips, Please!
Maddysgram replied to Erin18's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I would just start using the LB rules and keep track of your intake. Many of us use MyFitnessPal for that. Every meal 1cup of less, starting with your Proteins first, veggies and then good carbs. Total of one cup for all three. Eat very small bites and chew 20-30 times putting down your utensil, wait 1 min between bites and you're done in 20 mins- whether you finished every thing or not. No drinking until at least 30mins after your meal 64 oz of Water a day exercise 30 min a day Every Drs. orders are different and this is what mine told me. This is all just a suggestion. The best thing to do is get a hold of your surgeon and talk to them and maybe see a nutritionist and find out where your problems lay. I wish you all the best!
