I'm just not understanding the food part of all this.
Maddysgram replied to ADJL's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I too agree with Missy. I was also told that"if I'm not hungry, don't eat". -
Diane, I am so sorry. Prayers and believing in a miracle for him. Keep us posted. May God show His mercy and grace!

Hi everyone, Hub and I evidently caught all the hacking and sniffing at the airports and hotel we were at. Some how I expected that, with all the hand shaking. Dave's manager was sitting behide us on the flights and kept hacking and hacking. Finally got caught up on laundry, drain field has been under Water for over a week. Its about 2 feet away from our new lake. Like Diane, everytime the water goes down a little , another storm comes in. I have to go back and read whats been going on. I'm hoping to find everyone well. Mini, glad you've had a break in the heat. The 60's sounds pretty awesome. ttyl, love you all

Congratulations on your success. Thank you for sharing your story. -
Sorry about this gross question...
Maddysgram replied to Helli's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't have a pre op diet, so I can't help you there, other than report to surgeons office whats going on. Post op, I did have diarrhea and was able to take chewable Imodium, per Dr. I've noticed everyone handles this different, some constipated & some diarrhea. I suggest Chapstick to take to surgical center, wake up with really dry lips. Also heating pad for post op. Good luck! -
Hello my BFF's, I've missed you all. I just got done catching up on everyone. So much has happened, it seems like I've been gone forever. I had a very good time. The weather was iffy, but did have sometime around pool and the beach. The food was excellent. Dave was very good at making sure I was comfortable and happy (not really like him), lol. Iactually got him to wear a wedding band after 40+yrs. We went into the Harley store in Pensacola and they had a gold mens band with a Harley logo etch in the center, with a small diamond on each side. It was on sale and he really liked it, so I bought it for him. I quess we're officially a couple now, lmao. The airports killed my knee's, especially when we practically had to run to catch connecting flight in Atlanta. I know it was a good mile between planes. We just made it. ATLANTA AIRPORT IS A ZOO!!!! Got home to a flood garden, again. Had to wade threw the ick and rescue plants, again. The Water was up to my ass. Rained all day yesterday and I had to go out and rescue the rest of the plants I thought were safe. All this did not help my knee's either. The weather called for more rain today, but so far, so good. The tide in garden has gone down almost a foot. Calling for rain until July4th and I keep praying for mercy. Today is Maddy's Independence Day, she left the NICU 12 yrs ago today after spending her first 10mths there. She laughed all the way out the door and the drive home. Terri, I hope you have a nice time on the coast. Carole, Glad the foot is ok. The granite sounds amazing. Yeah for the scale. Continuing good thoughts on the barium test. Dawn, Have a good time with Brad and kids. Prayers for safe travel. Mini, So sorry about your pain. I was wondering about Shingles???? Hope they get tothe bottom of it and find you relief. Also hoping for relief from the unbearable heatwave you and Nicole are facing. Dee, So proud of who you are!!!!! Next time you take that test, please ask for prayers.... Glad you are having a wonderful time with the kids. Hugs, angel! Diane, Hang in there GF. One day you will be on the beach with your hub. Anyone who is as dedicated as you, will be blessed. Nicole, I hope things are going well.I'm sure you are exhausted returning back to the work force, after a major life change. Oh, I forgot, congratulations Mini on the 6 lbs down. You rock! Dawn, you do not take after your c mom when it comes to drinking. The only alcohol that can knock my socks off, is Vodka and I stay way far away from it. Jagermeister- I can drink anyone under the table on, no effect at all. I did have a couple Long Island Ice Tea's this trip, thought it was made with ice tea, NOT. Vodka, tequila, rum, gin, triple sec, sweet and sour mix and a splash of coke (what, coke?????), very, very little coke. No effect. Stomach made of steel, that only stress can get to, go figure.lol

For those not on FB, my new machine. I'm in love!
-
Ah, chicken... Sometimes goes down, sometimes doesn't. Funny, I had the same thing for lunch and as I'm transferring laundry to dry, spitting slime in the nearby toilet. Must either be the weather or the thought of doing laundry while eating chicken. Hope you're feeling better,Mini. I just finished tuna and it went down fine, but I was done with laundry.lol Carole, We have had a twister a day, for 4 days now. Typical FL weather... Terri, One side of binding to hand sew and I'm done with babies first quilt. Love, love, love my new machine!!!! It's crazy b/c I keep wanting to use knee lift as the pedal. I haven't had a knee pedal in over 40yrs. I was watching a Fons & Porter show and they had Jen, from Missouri Quilt Co. and she had never used a machine like ours and she kept doing the same thing as me, so I didn't feel soooo stupid. Di,Dawn,Dee & Nicole, I hope you all had a good day. I will miss you guys this weekend. Anyone want to head to Pensecola Beach, you'll find me there. TTYL

Love the picture, Terri, beautiful. Thank you! Michelle, wow, what a great deal. Congratulations! Makes laundry better, when you like your machine. I got a Speed Queen last year and I love that machine. Speaking of which, I have to get my laundry done today. By this time tomorrow, I'll be at the airport by this time tomorrow. I hate to fly.....I like the idea of being able to pull over if you have a problem. Everyone have a good day!

Glad you had a wonderful time, Di. I knew you would. Yes, we do all need to get together. I'm anxious to hear about Carole's Drs visit. To cheer myself, I had shopping and grandkid therapy. Then a visit from Ange. Can't wait for pictures.

Not even out of bed yet, well have been and just layed back down. I'm very teary eyed. Today seems to be one of those bitter sweet days. First, tears of joy for our girls who get to meet. So happy for them, it makes me cry. Happy Jack and Franc have time together too. Crying for the pain Carole must be going through, sending Seth off. We will continue to be praying for his safe return home. Crying for my sil, Evan. His grandmother past last night. She was a very sweet lady, who loved my daughter very much. She was in her nineties, so she had a good long life and she deserves her rest now, but her loving kindness will be missed. She and Evans grandpa were a big part in his life. His father walked out on his family at a very young age and it was his grandparents that picked up the pieces. It was Evans grandfather who made Evan the man he is today. Now grandma and grandpa are reunited. Makes me think of the hymn- God has not promised skies always blue, Flower strewn pathways all our lives through. God hath not promised sun without rain, joy without sorrow, peace without pain. But God hath promised strength for the day, rest for the labor, light for the way. May you all have a wonderful day. Know that I love and pray for each one of you.

I watched Dr Nancy Sniderman on the Today Show discussing the impact this will have and the major impact is that all insurance companies will have to start recognizing it. I'm guessing there still will be a lot of ignorant ppl discriminating against obese ppl. After all, you can't fix stupid.

Losing with/without fills
Maddysgram replied to utkscvol1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Missy is right. I have consistently been able to lose weight, but not until I had enough restriction , did the hunger become manageable. Before restriction, just another diet. After restriction, not really a diet. -
We will be waiting patiently (not) for pictures. But as I remember Carole and my lunch dates, pictures were hours in coming.lol I didn't want to say goodbye. You all have a great time!
-
btw, last year grandma couldn't do this. wasn't able to walk from the parking lot to the beach.Woohoo!
-
ok, I didn't stay home. But you can't get in trouble taking your grands to the beach. Making memories!
-
I feel your frustration, Di. It has happened to me a number of times. How far does everyone have to travel to meet tomorrow? Prayers for safe travels. I'll be home all day today. Got into enough trouble yesterday. Everyone have a great day. TTYL

Dawn, Glad you are making an appt. No sense having a band, if its not helping you. I know what you're saying about the deductible. But its worth making payments if that can be arranged. Yes, I'm very proud of my c grandkids and my c daughter too. You've done a great job, single mom. Sharpie is on the forum and she always makes great sense. I liked her before I found out she was from FL. Mini, So sorry this is a sad day of remembrance. I'm with you about the rain, the sky is crying b/c of your loss. Nicole, How was your day? What was on your lunch plan? Dee, Always good to hear from you. Really sorry about the butthead taking your money. He will get his, one day. Carole, Thoughts and prayers for the strength you need on your visit with Seth. Glad Jay can be there too. Di, Cajun turkey sounds good.lol I know when you make a pledge, you will do it. I still jealous about Wednesday, but I'm working on it. Terri, Its all your fault. You encouranged me to get back to quilting. Went to Joanns, just to look around and they were having a great sale . Got yardage from $1.50 -3.00 a yard.

Anyone watch Nick Wallenda cross the Grand Canyon? Talk about a band tighting up over stress and I was just watching.

Good Monday Morning! Mini, good luck on exams. Terri, don't encourage me, lol. I never met a fabric I did not like. Carole, proud of you getting those steps in. Dawn, Hope you have a great day at work. Praying for strength in resisting the office "crap" aka chocolate. I love chocolate and I'd probably have to quit my job, to resist. Nicole, Good luck on your first day back. Dee, Hope you and the kids have a good day. I really don't know how you do things, kids, working, home. Hows the old guy you've been sitting with, is that an all nighter? Di, I presume you're at work today, have a good one. I'm very excited your date with Carole & Terri is in a couple days. I know you are going to have a very good time. My trip to Pensacola is this weekend. If all goes right, will have a room right on the beach. I sure wish someone was close to Pensacola:*(
