    A New Day

Oh, about the beach wheel chair rental... The problem is Maddy can't sit up in one. She'd fall off the side. Her wheelchair at home has all kinds of molded cushioning to keep her sitting up right. Her new wheelchair is so much better than her last one.

Terri, please don't call me St.Janet. I understand the heart in how you said it, but I am far from a saint. I also believe what the bible says about getting your praise down here on earth, Its all you will get. I'm looking for more than that.lol Thank you for your praise, but I'm just doing what I think is right. Been using a seam ripper a lot today. Guess my heads not in the game. I hope you share a picture of your friends quilt.

Carole, sorry to hear about the Migraines. Praying tomorrow will be a better day. Sending warm fuzzy thoughts your way. Mini, Yes, Carole sounds just like you.... Hope acupuncture does the trick. I was considering acupuncture for the pain I was in months after my accident. I got a LB instead and whatever they did in surgery, fixed my neck and the rest is history. Tell your son we are still waiting for a video concert. Does he take request?

Got my new battery. They think mom might be having trouble with Gallbladder, if thats the case since she has a strong heart, they will do surgery. I'm waiting until tonight and see how things go. Dawn, I thought exactly the same way about mini's son. Music has been a big part of Maddy's joy, since her earliest days in the nicu. I was just asking her when she was going to pick up and instrument and start playing. She thought that was funny. I have come to the conclusion that everyone of us has shown great strength and in turn has used their strength to bolster those of us in need. I am so proud of all of you! Now I need to hear from Carole.....

    A New Day

Morning girls, Carole, thoughts and prayers on keeping your band and having a plan to do so. Whether you have to have it removed or not, I do hope you will not leave us. Diane, Good to hear you have woken up to sunshine. Praying for continued improvement. Did I ever tell you about my brother who broke his neck? Sorry if I repeat myself. He had the same break as Christopher Reeves, close to the same time as Chris too. He was offered the same surgery as Christopher, but being they had no insurance they chose to have a full body cast. All these years later, my brother is still walking and working as an auto mechanic. The day he broke his neck, I was with him. He got up, walked around and then started to go into shock. He was in and out of a coma for 2wks, but it was at that time while praying I heard God speak for the first time. He told me "have faith in times of darkness", it wasn't my head, it was a out loud voice. My brother woke up, after a prayer meeting and was home in 2 1/2wks. His recovery wasn't easy, but it was a miracle. I'm believing in a miracle for your brother too! You'll always hear me say " Have faith in times of darkness". Mini, Sorry your son has to deal with Torettes and my continued prayers for him are going on also. I don't care what Drs say, I believe! Dawn, I love you girl. You are so much stronger than you know. What you're going through, is making you stronger. Your day is coming and it will be better than you can even imagine. I believe! Terri, Glad all is well with you. Enjoy the nice nails and happy quilting. Dee, I so jealous of Terri!!!!! But also happy for you two. Nicole, Hoping all is well. Lastnight had to take my husband to Urgent Care. He has pink eye, viral & Bacterial virus. While waiting at the drive thru CVS, my car battery decided to go dead. I was able to push it out of line, but poor Dave had to come jump my car. My sis called this am and my mom was admitted to the Gainesville Hospital was some kinda infection. She doesn't think its necessary for me to come up. But being mom is 86yo, I should go. So right now, I am waiting for battery to charge, so I can go get a new battery. I need to be home by Friday. Maddy is having an endoscopy and I need to watch Jack & Delaney. When it rains, it pours. But I BELIEVE!!!!!! You all have a great day. I love you all and consider you all my bff's. Thank You!
  12. I too had a port revision and I was told to treat it as original surgery, as far as exercise goes. What was explained to me, is it takes the 6wks for enough scar tissue to form around stitching to help hold it in place. I must say though, it was much easier than the original surgery.

Prayer for continued improvement and getting out of the ICU, coming your way Diane.
  14. Until you have enough fills for restriction, it's just another diet. Stick with your surgeons diet requirements. Sometimes it takes a number of fills to hit the green zone. The first 6wks is for healing., not necessarily losing weight. Good luck!

LOL, You're absolutely correct. Slow that eating down.... I have a need for speed.lol

LOL,Dawn... Saturday I had to do the math also. I thought I was 57, but I will be 57. Once I went almost a whole year thinking I was a year older than I was. Never a year younger.lol

    No Restriction

What they ^ said.... As Sojo stated, the psychology part of obesity is a huge factor. If you stick around here for any length of time, you will hear banders confessing their screw ups b/c of stress in their lives. Everyone has stressful times, we need to deal with other ways to cope with them.

    A New Day

Good morning ladies I'm on my way out to mow the lawn (love being outdoors) and wanted to check in on Diane's brother, Dawn's safe return and everyone else's daily plans. Di, continued prayer for your brother and family. I'm glad no signs of paralysis, God is good! Also glad you are with him, hang tough GF. It is time for your other brother to step in taking care of mom. This might be a true eye opener for him. I too had to lol, with the thought of your hub finding mom in the buff. I can only imagine his face. My hub would have run away screaming like a girl.lol Just glad mom doesn't have any thought about that situation. Dawn, I'm so sorry about you having to leave your true love. It must really be a bummer. My thoughts with you, sweetie. So next Monday you're going to be 42 yo. Oh my, that makes c mom really old. Glad I adopted you and Mini, if you were my bio kids, I would have been 15yo, yikes. Dee, Continue having a fun filled summer with the kids. Let me know of the salt spa's. We have a huge salt spa here, lol. The Gulf of Mexico. We just can't figure out how to get her on the beach. She's too heavy to carry, wheelchair won't go in sand and beach wheel chairs are soooooo expensive, of course. I am a true believe in Water therapy of any kind. Carole, I'm getting anxious to see new kitchen and new furniture you've picked out. Makes me want to come visit very soon, lol. Love the pictures you have posted on FB, especially your homepage. Hearing about the nearby waterfall, makes me sick to be in NC, j/s. How's that foot healing? Mini, Also anxiously awaiting your son's Drs visit. Nice how we tell younot to be anxious, but then again, we are anxious. What a hypocrite I am.lol You know I CAN finally tell my twins apart?! Terri, have fun with that quilting.I wish I had as many quilts under my belt, that I could start giving them away to ppl in need. Maddy got so many little quilts while she was in the NICU and I always appreciated the folks that donated them. Soon, very soon. Nicole, WTH are you? We have inquiring minds here... Love you all. Have a great Monday! The lawn awaits, lol.
  22. My PCP was thrilled. He never mentioned my weight, but we both knew I was the elephant in the room. It was my cardiologist who got me going. He told me if I couldn't do it myself, there were other ways, meaning surgery. After the first 4mths post op, no longer on b/p medicine.
  23. I'm glad you have realized that drinking was not helping you live a healthier life. This might sound kinda harsh, but I don't mean it that way. Everyone in life goes through stress and disappointments, at one point or another. We really have to decide on not using those times as excuses. We have to learn to deal with those times, not with food or alcohol, but figure another way. Anything, going for a walk, reading, taking a soak in the tub or a craft of some kind. Also staying with a support group will also help. I wish you all the best. You can do this!!!

    Food Question (how I've eaten)

diet cokes, ff chips, ff popcorn offer you nothing , plain and simple. Later down the road, will be ok once in awhile, but not a regular occurance. Lean meats, solid Proteins of all kinds, is whats going to keep you full longer. You stick with Protein, protein, protein and you will do great. Good luck on your journey!

    A New Day

It's truly what I believe..... It's I, that thank you all for accepting my belief. I also believe that we were brought together for a common good and that too is a gift of mercy and grace, I am so blessed. Your families and friends are always in my prayers, along with you all. Mini, Carole is right, it can be almost anything. Just live 1 day at a time and sometimes 1 minute at a time. My niece was told recently that she most likely had a brain tumor. She was having seizure like symptoms. Freaked everyone out! After every test in the book, no tumor. Turns out she was taking Miralax on a daily basis for many many years. She had a build up of the chemical thats found in Antifreeze and Miralax. Remember us talking about that, Terri? Ange, Paula and I went to see a movie "The Heat" with Sandra Bullock. It was really funny, but a lot of F bombs. Today is the first day with no rain, but the night is still young. Good thoughts and prayers for everyone!
