New Pre-Op In Tucson Arizona

Good luck Tracy, we will probably be about the same time. I get my sleeve on 14 August in Brisbane Australia and start pre op Optifast diet today. I am very happy i chose to have a sleeve over a bad. Just too many negatves with a band for my liking. This is a great site as we are all going through the same thing. Keep us posted on your progress. -
Bye the way have you noticed my new profile pic? Hate fat photos of myself, so featuring my 2 week old niece, Charlotte Rose. Isn't she just gorgeous? She is in Melbourne so I am yet to meet her other than on Skype. Hope to be well enough mid September to visit them.

Hi Kelly, your story is really inspiring and I loved your 3 tips LOL. Good question and great useful answers. Susie, all the best and we look forward to sharing the journey with you., cheers Kelli

Hi Ladies, thanks for your replies re Vitamins and medications. It think I will just try and get my blood pressure tablet down initially and the vitamins can wait until week 2 or 3 post op. Not going to stress about it. Just been to a friends place for my last 'normal' dinner before starting Optifast tomorrow. Bring it on...
-
I am curious about taking tablets after op. is I possible. Or will I have to maybe crush my blood pressure tabs, multi vitamins etc.mdo capsules go down more easily?
-
Shellz that's so funny and strange at the same time. We eat out all the time and I am going to be a cheap date. I will have to order the smallest thing on the menu
-
Hi Shellz, so happy to hear you are so well. Since we spoke last we've decided to move house. Going to Mum's place at The Gap for a while. Move over the day before the op. In the middle of packing in between working and luckily I have parents and mother-in-laws help. Looking forward to starting prep tomorrow. Will let you knw hw I get on.

Off to bed. Thanks for the chat

That looks pretty good. I didn't realize they coveted them completely. Though they just used steri strips
-
How are your 'war wounds'? Much bruising?
-
I agree, especially when dietician recommended by surgeon
-
And everyone is so positive.and supportive. Love it...
-
My doc said to have lean meat with dinner during prep, but dietician said not to. Bit onfusing
-
Hi Michelle, that's great you are doing so well. I really prefer this site to some others such as Banding Together which is more about lap bands. Much rather talk to other sleevers. I plan not to cheat, but will look into sugar free lollies.
-
One day to go before I start prep. Was hoping to have 'last supper' of favourites tomorrow night, but now going to a friends place for a dinner party. Wasn't going to go overboard, but some nice juicy lamb cutlets won't be eaten again for a longtime!
-
Wow Aussie Kelloff that's fantastic. I hope I have similar results.
-
Thanks sunoco. I am gld you ate drinking more easily. I bought a small glass measuring cup today which measures up to 1oz or 30mls. I thought it may helps to keep track of small amounts of liquid initially.
-
Thanks ladies, I will definitely try to avoid having the test unless necessary!
-
Yes I agree. I hope my doc doesn't do it, as it sounds very upleasant. I will certainly be asking the question.
-
Did any of you ave a nasty xray while you were in hospital to check fr leaks? I was reading about this the other day and just wondered how common it is?
-
Thanks Aussie, now I know what to expect. It sounds like the best strategy is to take one day at a time, little baby steps, whilst following instructions exactly. Cheers kelli
-
Thanks Michelle, that really helps as I was a bit confused about that. Your explanation makes sense. I am sure I will find getting enough fluids in quite a challenge. Do you also take Benefibre at this time, or is it not necessary? Thanks
-
Hi Aussie kellof, that's god to know for variety during liquid stage. How long do we need to be on clear liquids do you know?
-
Hi aussie kellof, are you allowed to have custard and yoghurt at liquid stage? Does it have to be really runny? I have just received instructions for post op from dietician and surgeon and both same any liquid will have to be runny enough to go up a straw. It it couldn't it's not allowed.
