    August Sleevers

Hi Alex, are you in Brisbane. Maybe you should join our Attention Aussie Sleevers thread. I am in Brisbane too and am having my sleeve done by Dr Copp at St Andrews Private in Ipswich on Tuesday. The final countdown has begun. How did you go with the liquid stage?
  3. Coconut water....it's very hydrating and may be a good option for those of us who get sick of drinking water. You an buy the individual packs in the supermarket.
  4. Ah I didn't realize it was the light version, hence little sugar. I will give it a go. Which flavour did you prefer?
  5. Hi Susie, these products look interesting. I will most likely purchase them in a couple of weeks when I get to mushy stage. Thanks for the tip.
  6. Hi Michelle, I would have thought these were full of sugar?? But doesn't appear so.
  7. Two days to go til op. Have handled pre op regime pretty well. Little hunger or headaches after the first day or two. I hadn't weighed myself since starting until today. I was 107kg at my heaviest when I saw the surgeon in early July. I was down to 103 a couple of weeks later after trialling Optifast for 5 days. I was the same weight when starting 2 weeks pre op and today I am 97. I am very happy but now have family and friends giving me a hard time saying if I can do it myself then I shouldn't have the operation. I know it is ignorance on their part as they are making uninformed judgements and really I don't want to hear their opinion unless it is positive. Those of you who had the op, did you have to fast from midnight the night before? I won't be operated until mid afternoon so my dietician said I should be able to ave a shake for Breakfast. Thanks
  8. Hi Michelle, I can't offer any advice sorry, as I am not there yet. I think I will struggle with that stage as well as I am used to eating large portions. It will be a mental challenge.. Would visualualsation work? Or meditation?
  9. Hi Everyone, just an update....5 days left of Optifast before op next Tuesday. I have been going well, but have been travelling for work the past two days and am now exhausted. Have had shakes only fr past 2 days and it's not enough. I think the lack of actual food, especially protein is really starting to kick in. I may indulge in vege with a but if fish or chicken tonight. Moving house on Friday and haven't any energy left to pack boxes. Wish me luck.
  10. Hi Nessa, welcome to our little Aussie group. This is a great site as it's all about sleevers and it is a terrific way to give and receive support. I am having my sleeve next Tuesday, so on the final countdown now.
  11. Congratulations Lila, does that mean you are still paying $18K for the surgery or is it now covered by private medical?
  12. Hi Shelley, does everyone at work know what you have had done or do they all think you've been on a diet? Great that they are noticing the changes already. One week down and o e to go. This time next week I will probably be getting nervous, but I am not so far. I am getting a bit sick of vege & salad and shakes already. I need to look at some creative ways to serve them. I do like the vanilla Opti shakes with a short black espresso cofffee, crushed ice and Water and Choc or vanilla with frozen berries. Any suggestions? Maybe I should make a thick cauliflower and leek Soup?
  13. Hi Lila, I am paying $500 for my sleep guy next Tuesday. All up it was $2000, but most covered by private medical Insurance. I hope yours is no more than $2000. Let us know how you get on. Cheers Kelli
