  1. I think I agree re the dietician. E and the doc are not on the same page. I will still talk with him, but will check with doc as well.
  2. I will be staying in hospital for another night as my temp is up and still have drain in. Hopefully I will go home tomorrow.
  3. Thanks, that makes me feel better and less stressed. I have had water, coconut water, a little apple juice and tea. I think I can start on shakes once I go home. Dietician wants me to have 3 per day split over 6 sessions, so 100ml each. Should be ok.
  4. My dietician said I should be getting 2.5 liters of fluid a day, but should I be aiming for this straight away or building up to it over the next week? Any advice? Thanks
  5. Good Morning, feeling a lot more human this morning. Got total of 7 hours sleep and I am sure it makes all the difference. Hoping to go home today.
  6. It's 3am and I am wide awake. There is a lady in labour in the room next door. My drip cannula fell out when I went to the bathroom at 1am and I had the nasal drain out about lunch time. Only one drain left and it will come out today thank goodness. I will start to feel more human when I am free of all the tubes. Getting sick feeling in top of my tummy. Is this normal? Got 5 hurs straight sleep, but now I can't drop off. Hospital bought for my dinner tonight,, clear Soup which was nedible, jelly and lemonade which was not allowed to touch, apple juice and tea. I had half of apple juice, not that I was hungry. You really ave to check what they give you and can't assume it's suitable. I hope to go home today, but will have to wait until the doctor coes in to find out. Thanks again for your thoughts and best wishes. I don't feel that I am going through iit all alone. Cheers kelli
  7. Well, it's 24 hours since I went into surgery. It has all gone well and the Doc was happy there are no complications. He flushed the sleeve during surgery, so I don't have to have the dreaded X-ray afterwards. All I had to do was drink a couple of glasses of green cordial and as it didn't come out the abdomen drain then all is well. The worst part was the nasal drain directly into the sleeve. It only came out a little while ago. I kept getting nausea and wanting to throw up. Had my shower and now feel a better although still hooked up to fluid drip and abdomen drain for the next day or two. Feel a bit more comfortable. Mild pain n tummy, but not unbearable.on clear fluids for time being.
  8. Thank you again for all your good wishes. Just checked in at St Andrews Private Hospital Ipswich. Definitely no going back now. Have lost 9kg since first saw doc. Will keep you posted.
  9. I think I will do that, as Opti should give me all I need nutritionally whilst in hospital. Thanks
  10. Sorry, I have another question. During purée stage does the food have to have no lumps, but can be thick? We just experimented by blending some left over lasagne, but it was still quite gritty with small lumps. Also looked really gross. LOL During mushy stage can you ave soft food with lumps?
  11. Shelley where did you get item? The chemist said there is only Berocca, but that s fizzy so I didn't think it appropriate.
  12. Did anyone use a soluable multi vitamin? I've been told to take some to the hospital tomorrow, but the pharmacy I went to doesn't sell any. Any suggestions?
  13. Thanks for yor suggestions. Will take my iPad for entertainment, but doesn't sound as though I will need it. Cheers Kelli
  14. Will pack my bag to take to hospital. Any must have's from those of you who ave already had op?
  15. Thanks, I will check it out. Cheers Kelli
  16. Thank you all. Your advice and best wishes are much appreciated. I don't feel as though I am going through this alone. Cheers Kelli
