How Long Does It Take For Them To Schedule Surgery When U Start?
ibehere10 replied to nicci1228's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I went to the first appointment in July and am scheduled for surgery tomorrow.i did not have to do any Medically supervised diet, t hank God! I did have to have a psyche eval, sleep study, endoscope and cardiac workup. And of course blood work and the rest of the preadmission testing. Seems every insurance and doctors have their own requirements. Good luck in your journey! -
Bag For Hospital All Packed - Ready For Monday 10Th At 7:30Am Cst
ibehere10 replied to mufasas-mom's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am tomorrow too!! Getting things ready but nervous as hell! -
the gain is probably from the surgery and fluid build up in your abdomen from the trauma. It will disapate as time goes on. I had my GB out years ago and had the same weight gain issue but it was very temporary. Feel better soon, Diane

Was Anyone Not Put On Pre Op Diet?
ibehere10 replied to SleeveShelly's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On day 7 of 10 of a liquid diet. Have to do a bowel prep tomorrow then clear liquids on Sunday for surgery Monday. My bmi was 42, seems Barix does this for all patients. I would rather be safe than sorry. -
Couldnt Do Surgery-Liver Size
ibehere10 replied to SlevieNicks's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
geez, so sorry to hear of your troubles.Makes me sad that you have to go through this. But keep your eye on the prize, being healthy. I know one of my fears is no losing enough and when I show up on Monday for my surgery they tell me to go home because I have not lost enough to shrink my liver. I have never had high cholesteral or triglycerides so I hope it is not an issue but somethinG I certainly worry about. ' Best wishes and keep fighting the good fight! -

ibehere10 replied to Justine13's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am on day 5 of 10. Energy is zapped but I am pushing myself to stay active! Have lost about 5 lbs. I expected to lose more but I had already lost about 15 before the liquid phase started so I am not complaining!! Good Luck and have a water bottle with you at all times!! -
What Are Friends For...no Support
ibehere10 replied to evonnrae's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Some are supportive and some are just so so about it. I struggled with telling some of the people in my family but once I got approved I told them all. What matters most to me is that I am ok with this and know it is the right thing for me to do to be healthy! Now, let me re-read this to make sure there are no typos, I don't want to get beat up on, lol!! -
Great, same day! Let us know how you are doing. I know for me the liquid diet is tough. I have been cranky and tired but am forcing myself to clean and get the house in order so I don't have to worry about anything after the surgery!

Question About Approvals
ibehere10 replied to Pinky Green's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have Personal choice and the only thing they wanted was a bmi over 40 and a psyche eval. My surgeon insisted on a sleep study, full cardiac workup, endoscopy. PC approved me three days after the information was sent to them on the psyche eval and bmi. Scheduled for surgery on Sept 10th!! -
Who Else Had To Do More Than 2 Weeks Pre-Op Diet?
ibehere10 replied to ForMyfamily's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have to do 10 days. I start this Saturday! But I will try to keep my eye on the prize. I am also on vacation next week then go right into surgery on the 10th so I will use next week to get my house in order for when I am recuperating. I also plan on going through all my clothes closets to sort out sizes. I am sure I have at least 3 to 4 back sizes for the way down!! At least I will know what I have to wear for a while. I do not want to go spend a lot of money in the beginning of the weight loss. Once I get down lower then I can splurge!! -
Feeling Humiliated....
ibehere10 replied to Tia Noel's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Try to either talk to your professor or go to the school help center. You should not have to sit in any chair that is going to bruise you. I am certain that they have policies related to student health concerns and this is certainly one!! Good luck. -

The Sleeve Is So Much Better Than Getting A Lap Band
ibehere10 replied to 2muchbmi's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Like Isb, I went to the doc believing I would get the lap band but after the information meeting and then doing oodles of research I am going with the sleeve. I do not want to go through all this and not have the best shot at being successful! Have not gotten my date yet but all my pre testing is done and I am ready to move forward!!! -
How To Lose 10% Of Body Weight
ibehere10 replied to ho11ieberry06's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I started using protein drinks the day after my first meeting with the surgeon and am losing weight nicely ! Have gone from 242 to 229 as of this morning. I love the chocolite banana Cream flavor and throw in half a banana or mango or strawberries. I also put in ice cubes and the required water or skim milk and blend in blender. Shakes are thick and creamy and keep me filled for hours! I also am using the syntrax strawberry kiwi powder in my water which helps ward off cravings for sweets and such. In the evening if I need a little snack I have a half of the rockin roll nut protein bar which is delish! Half of a bar along with sipping water fills me! Wish you well in your journey!! -
Congrats, what a wonderful accomplishment!!
