    Protein Powder Help?

I like "OH yeah" protein drinks, grab and go. Flavorful and good protein. I also use a powder called "Choco Rite", they have many flavors but I love the banana and the cappuccino the best! Good luck in your journey!

    This Pain Is Bad...

I am 4 weeks out tomorrow and still have pain on the left side. It especially burns when I am getting out of bed or when going from a sitting position to standing of if I lean over at the waist to pick something up. Better than it was but still can take my breath away at times!!

    Food Question

I bought canned crab meat and blended it with fat free mayo and some celery seed and onion flakes! Love it and it gives a decent amount of protein. Going to try same thing with shrimp!!
  10. You can call and ask her to give you the measurements. I am sure the will accommodate you and give that info over the phone!! Good luck

    Normal

I put on 12 lbs in 24 hours from the surgery! They told me they intentionally flood you with the IVs due to many people having dehydration issues during the first week or two. I started at 243, morning of surgery, 9/10/12, I was 219, evening of 9/11/12 I was 231!! As of today I am 210. Happy so far with the loss. I am still having trouble getting allmy fluids and protein in but I am sure that once I am better healed I will do fine!!

    Amazing!

I have a wedding in two weeks. Not sure what type of food they will be having but I am sure they will have meatballs so that will do!!
  13. I have four weeks off. I am still tired and having pain in my left side. Much better than I was last week but know that this fourth week will have me in much better shape to fully be able to do my job. I think my age has slowed the healing process. 20 years ago when I had my gallbladder out I was in great shape after about 8 days, this had been a slower process for sure!!

    A Week Out

I had the surf on the 10th and had pretty severe pain for over a week. I used the pain meds they gave me to use here at home even though I didn't like using that stuff, knocked me on my butt with every dose! I am now just taking Tylenol and it helps some. I also use a heating pad at night to help my abdomen relax so I can get to sleep!! Hope you are feeling better soon but if you are in such pain you might be wise to call your doctor and consult with him/her.
  16. Had the sleeve on the 10th. Morning of surgery I was 219. Day after surgery I was 231!! All water gain from them pushing so much fluid for the surgery! Now at 216. I know I have to start walking more but I am still having discomfort and tire quickly! Other wise things are going ok, getting most of my fluid in through protein drinks etc.

    Hungry

When I was hungry on the pre op diet I made sure I downed at least 8 oz of water, waited 5 minutes and 9 out of 10 times the hunger passed telling me I was not hungry but in need of hydration. The one time it did not pass I would either have a SF jello or Popsicle and it did the trick!! Good luck and hang in, it will be worth it!!

    Return To Work?

I had surgery on the 10th and still feel there is no way I could work. Maybe my age is a factor, 57, but I tire easily and still have a great deal of discomfort on my left side. I have plenty of sick time and am going to follow my doctors directions as to how long he feels I should be out. I see him next week so we will see what he says . One other thing, to the best of my knowledge this surgery although "elective" we still meet the criteria to use FMLA to cover up to 12 weeks out of work providing we meet the full time employment requirement and have been employed with our company for more than one year. As long as your doctor writes that this surgery is medically necessary they have to afford you with fmla coverage despite it being "elective". Obesity is a life threatening disease and for me it was medically necessary. Check with your HR people for the details or you can research the FMLA federal law online for more specific details . Good luck
  19. Thanks Katie, you are so right and I do need to be easier on myself !!
  20. Had my sleeve surgery on sept 10th. The weighed me the day after and I had put on 13 lbs from all the fluids. They said it is very normal but it still upset me as I had worked had to lose 21 lbs prior to the surgery. 7 days out toda and still not back to my pre surgery weight. I am 58 so maybe that had something to do with it? Not sure. I am still having some abdominal pain and my belly is retry swollen. Was feeling very discouraged this morning but better tonight! Have a good night!!
  21. HAd my surgery yesterday and am doing really well. I took everyones advice and have walking and sipping!! Thank God this site is here I know I learned so much from all of you that had made this part of my journey easier!! Go home tomorrow!!!

Oh well, just hope they are satisfied with this loss tomorrow.just don't want them to send me home...
  23. Excited and nervous;-) looking forward to moving forward in this journey!! The only thing that surprised me is that's have not L oust Minh weight on this 10 day liquid diet.not sure why, just hoe this won't be a problem in the morning when they weigh me! List about 8 lbs.
