I tend to be obsessed with the scale. Bad, I know.

Oh, and I'm 5'4". :-D

I understood that you want to weigh 152 in a year, right? If so, I think that's attainable. I started at 263 at the beginning of my journey. I was banded on August 7, 2012 and am currently sitting at 201. Good luck with your journey!

Amazing! That's fun! -
I am only 5 lbs away from ONEDERLAND! It's so close, but feels so far! I've been hovering at the same weight for a week or so, and almost feel like when I'm close to a mini goal like this that I sort of sabotage myself for a bit. So yesterday, I decided it's time to quit fartin' around! That's all. :-D

I started my journey in about March or April. Shortly thereafter I started reducing my insulin. I was completely off of my insulin for at least 2 months before I even had my surgery on Aug 7, 2012. Getting thinner is great, but I cannot express how amazing it feels to know I am healthier. I'm healthier in a real, tangible way. Now, I only take metformin and my blood sugars are consistently very normal. Also, I have always had very irregular to non existent periods. Suddenly, I'm having those again. Good luck in which ever path you choose. It has been a lot of hard work, but I impress myself daily, and I'm so grateful to have this tool to help be a better me!

Have had the Mirena for four years and haven't had any signs of a period for at least three years. Now I've lost 43 lbs and suddenly I am having a super light period. I know weight loss can effect your cycle and in the past it definitely has affected my cycle. I just was surprised that I would have this since I have Mirena. Thoughts?

My hubby is in surgery getting his band as I type this. I am so excited for him. After our surgeon finishes his band, I have an appointment with him for my first fill. It's an exciting day at our house!

The fill was super uneventful and my hubby is doing great! I am so excited for him! I would love it if the pounds would just fly off now, but somehow, I'm guessing it'll keep moving at the same pace. I hope you're right!

Nsv - You Don't Look Like You Need A Band

I had people say that to me a lot even before I started losing weight. I said, well, thank you, that's kind, but I am not healthy. I have type 2 diabetes and it is out of control. I'm making a change for my life. That shuts em up fast. I think most people mean well, and the convo of WLS makes many uncomfortable, which causes silly comments. You do look wonderful btw! -
Thank you! I have lost 20 lbs since surgery, but I have been exercising and counting calories like a maniac. I understand it is very normal to not lose right after.
-
I'm going today for my first fill. It's been seven weeks.

Yay! So excited for you! -
Since becoming type 2 diabetic, I would sweat like a lady of questionable morals in a place of worship. ALL THE TIME! Now that I'm down 50lbs and my blood sugars are very normal (even for a non diabetic) I am freezing all the time. I'm not gonna lie. I'm enjoying it!

Rock on! Congrats!

Woohoo!!! That is super! I'm happy for you!

Am officially down 50lbs from the beginning of my journey! That's 11 more pounds than my 4 yo weighs, and she is heavy to lug around! Excuse me while I have the success high for a moment! I don't have any fill in my band yet. I go September 25 for my first fill. I'm doin the happy dance! Ok. I'm done now.

Thanks, everyone! My surgery was August 7.
