    Gas Pain

Heat pads, warm showers, walking and if the gas pain is in the high left tip, arm windmills and arm above head will help, doing his while walking, sit down for a few minutes and start again. When it gets to bad, heat pack, lay down on your side and push heat into it. Hope you get some relief.
  2. Update Day 5 Post Op..... OMG feeling so much better today, shoulder pain has decreased..when it is happening I saw that everyone was saying walk it out as best you can and heat pack, I also read that arm windmills or arms above head and now I have hit the jackpot... really helping, scale has gone from..... I am not sure I can take this to, ok this is all manageable. Doing well with drinking water and either adding a touch of squeezed lemon or sqeezed orange juice managing a protien drink for one meal and some soup for the other... my only vice is a skinny coffee once a day, also doing the glass of water with benfibre once daily. Using lots of pillows to get comfy. Took off waterproof dressings yesterday evening, steristrips intact and wounds look clean and healing nicely, wounds are feeling better wthout dressing ontop. Bruising is mostly around the incision near the naval. Haven't breezed through but am feeling so positive today, enjoying the beautiful sunshine and pottering around the house, looking forward to being back at work tomorrow

    Newbie 4 Days Post Op

My story so far is very familiar with others.... I have battled with my weight for all my life... I have tried every fad diet available with success while I only focused on that part of my life, I have tried medication (Duromine) which I was on for nearly 2 years and again success until I had to stop taking it. Most of my fams and friends can't understand the extremes. 2 years ago I was diagnosed with Hashimoto disease and as a result I have had some other health challenges like high BP, very low vitamin D and high cholesterol and I have decided that I need help to take charge and a lap band may do that as it is a long term fix, no short gain. I am now 4 days post op and things have gone well, the only thing I am truly struggling with right now is extreme left should pain (not all the time) and one of my incisions near my belly button is really tender. It has been fantastic to see that there are so many offering advice and support and helping with the daily struggles.
