    Its So Hard!

My brother is freezing some of his great brined turkey to have in turkey salad in 2 weeks. The food doesn't bother me today at all!
  2. Today is surgery day and I just saw where I was supposed to stop all Vitamins, it such a habit I took them through yesterday. I take vit. D, flintsones chewable and the Calcium citrate. I thought we were supposed to keep taking them due to liquid only diet. Have I messed up and will they cancel because of this?? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using VST
  3. Thank you, thank you!!! I was thinking about all the hard work I have done to get here and was frustrated that it might be cancelled. The Protein shakes have Vitamins in them, so I thought it would be okay. My surgery is at 12:40 today, I am so ready to get this done! Thanks for all the support here! I will update as soon as I can!
  4. I have been doing my fall cleaning since I am on our Thanksgiving break from the school I work for. I bagged up all my summer clothes and took them to Goodwill! I cleaned all the carpet in the house today, tomorrow I will wash windows and put wreaths and candles up. We are actually putting our outside decorations up early since I do all the electrical layout and configuration. I figured it would be difficult to bend for long periods of time in 2 weeks, so we are doing it now! Currently I have to be at the hospital at 10:30 am Tuesday unless I get a call tomorrow that would change it. I am just trying to stay busy for the last day! I can't believe my day is already here!
  5. I'm so ready for Tuesday, I can't stand it! I am always happy, but I haven't told most of my co-workers and they keep asking what is causing my extra happy attitude! I just tell them its the time of year to be thankful and I am embracing it wholeheartedly this year!!!. . .

    Sleeve Vs Csection

Thank you, thank you for this topic!!! I had been wondering too, I have had 2 c-sections and a vertical open hysterectomy. The hysterectomy was the worst thing I have ever been through due to healing of the large incision. I have been hoping and convinced myself that the sleeve would be a lot easier than the surgeries I have had. Just over 4 days to go for me!!!

    It Feels Amazing!

I think this is now one of my top 5 topics here!!! All of the reasons previously said are goals for me! My husband and I (married 22 years) have a list of all things skinny sex to try! But the major reason for me is to be able to have an active life with my boys 9 and 13 and live longer for them. They love it when I play baseball with them, but I can only run for about 2 seconds at this weight. One of my goals is to run with my 9 year old son (he's my energizer bunny) by my 50th birthday in June! Thanks for all the inspiration! I am so ready for my surgery on 11/20!

    It Feels Amazing!

Thanks for another list of reasons to stay focused! I also want to achieve many of the items on your list! I have never had a matching bra and panties, my hubby will definitely enjoy that as much as I will!

    Onderland!

Congratulations, that is awesome! That is my first goal, I am hoping by Christmas!
  10. Good luck to everyone who is scheduled tomorrow! You will do great! This time next week, I will be on the losers bench and I can't wait! I turn 50 next June and I almost cry thinking about what a life changer next week will be!
  11. I have to be in the hospital 2 nights next week for the sleeve and am dreading it. I don't like being there at night, no rest because of all the temp, blood pressure, oxygen checks, etc. Were you awake and feeling good enough to be bored? I'm thinking of taking my iPad so I can keep up to date on here, but to also pass the time. My hubby will be with me on surgery day, then leave to bring our boys to see me. The second day, he will be at work and I don't think I will have any visitors until evening. I will go home Thanksgiving morning (I will truly be thankful to be home). I don't sit still very well, lol! Any advice?

    November Sleevesters?

I keep hoping that it will be easy compared to hell I have been through! Thanks for the pick me up! I am planning to go back to work at 1 week post op. This should be fine, I went back to work at week 3 from one of my c-sections, don't know what I was thinking, obviously I wasn't!
  13. I lost 60 lbs about 3 years ago and was weighing every day. I got lazy about a year ago and stopped weighing daily, I gained 15 lbs back. When I started my supervised diet in June, I started weighing daily again and I found that I was more careful with my choices. I don't think about being a scale slave, it's just a part of my day to keep me focused. Everyone is different and needs to do what works for them.

    Oh, The Gas ...the Gas!

I just told my hubby that he can do that to me next Tuesday and he just laughed! LOL, thanks for the tip!

    Stop Telling People!

Iggychic - I hope I didn't offend you, I have read the stories of complications on here and understand completely what could happen. We are all in this journey together and the info shared here is invaluable! Thanks for reminding me that there is another side to the critical remarks people can make.

    November 19Th- Officially

I'm the 20th, so I am right there with all of you! I can only have liquids, it is getting boring now, but the weight is falling off, 5 lbs since the 7th, so that is keeping me focused!

    November Sleevesters?

I'm November 20, Harrisonburg, VA! I am only concerned about incision and muscle pain. I had a complete hysterectomy by vertical incision (cut was about 6 inches long) several years ago and thought it was the worst surgery to recover from. My hubby keeps saying its not that again, and I will be fine. I have a high tolerance for pain, but don't ever want to go through that again! My C-sections were a piece of cake comparatively. Other than that I am ready to be on the losers bench for good!

    Stop Telling People!

LOL, tell her you are having a medical procedure that you really don't want to discuss and be done with it! I know it's easier said than done, but my backbone is getting stronger by the day! Hang in there!
  19. I too am in the beginning of my second week. I have been drinking the EAS Advantege shakes for at least one meal per day for the last year and half, so I am not minding the shakes. I can't stand jello, so that is out! I have missed chewing. I love ice so I fill a glass with crushed ice then add diet juice or water and eat the ice after I finish drinking. I just keep thinking how I am one day closer to surgery and it keeps me on target. I have also lost 5 lbs since last Wednesday, so that has been very motivating as well! You can do it! We will be here if you need encouragement as well!!!

    Stop Telling People!

First, good luck on your surgery Wednesday! We will be here rooting for you!!!!! Second, I understand as I have only told a few people. My sister and my husband are very supportive. I decided to tell my brother (my parents are deceased). Well, that was a mistake, his first sentence was "well I don't mean to be critical", I almost hung up on him. He then proceeded to tell me complications that his wife's sister had last year (she had the full gastric bypass). I tried to explain to him that there are fewer complications with the sleeve and just decided to let it go. I have decided that if he brings it up again, I will tell him that if he can't be positive, then I will not talk with him about it. He is Mr. Exercise who thinks it should be easy, however he has never been overweight in his life. It was a lessoned learned, I will only tell people who care for me and will be supportive! I love that we can vent here!!!!
  21. Just curious, my Dr. hasn't said anything about a goal weight, do they typically tell you or did you give yourself one?
  22. crickee

    Omg

Hang in there, just think we are on the downside of the mountain that it took to get approval! The count down is on and yes, you can hang in there for 1 more week!
  23. My surgery date is November 20 - Harrisonburg, VA, and my Dr. requires 2 night stay which means I will go home on Thanksgiving morning. I have laughed at the irony of this all day. I will literally be sipping while the rest of America gorges. I think it is a perfect week to begin my new sleevie life! I also think it will give Thanksgiving a whole new meaning for me and my family! I am hoping that this time next year I will look back on the tough times and appreciate the true meaning of Thanksgiving.
