I'm so disappointed. I'm a little over 8 months out and down 71 lbs. Is anyone else a slow loser? I'm about ready to throw in the towel :-(

carbs, calories, and protein oh my!
SleeveShelly posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well, I have found myself obsessing over everything! Carbs, calories and protein. Everyday it seems I am so wrapped up with...am I getting enough of this, am I getting to much of that? Trying to write down, figure and keep track of everything. All I have to say is E.X.H.A.U.S.T.I.N.G!!!! I know 7 months out what I should eat and what I should stay away from. I am 7 months out and have decided starting tomorrow no obsessing over any of it anymore!!! I have been at a 2 month stall, and I am now wondering if my weight is hanging out the same because of additional stress trying to keep track. For the next few weeks, I am just going to eat right, not go run and write down e everything I put in my mouth. I'm just going to go with the flow. Geez -
sleeve and weight watchers
SleeveShelly replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks Amazon13. Very true. I have 83 more lbs to go. I keep telling myself if I can just get to where I can really tell I have lost, it would be more motivating. But weight loss has been super slow. No matter how hard I seem to try and how much I walk the scale will not budge. So so so frustrating. -
sleeve and weight watchers
SleeveShelly replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 7 months out and was thinking about trying it just to see how it would work. But I hate to try it and gain weight -
I was just wondering about weight watchers. Would sleeve patients lose weight if counted points? I know that we are suppose to watch carbs and all of that, but also portion control. Bananas are high in carbs, but free points on weight watchers. I was curious to see if anyone does weight watchers points and still lose weight?

I am 7 months out and I honestly think my body has it against me to let me get under the weight of 258! I think I have been right around the same weight for about the last 2 months. So frustrated!!!

how to measure food?
SleeveShelly replied to SleeveShelly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So a cup of lettuce isn't very much, and then when I put my shredded cheese on it and cherry tomatoes, and turkey. That would end up being more than a cup. -
This may seem like a really dumb question. When measuring 1 cup of food, do you measure in a measuring cup or do you use a kitchen scale and measure 8 oz?

I still have about 85 more to go. I just get so confused. I don't know if i should be watching calories and carbs? Protein and sugars? I don't know what to do. -

So if watching carbs and limit myself to 20 grams a day, does that mean no bananas and fresh fruit? -

Breakfast=coffee with a scoop of protein powder in it. I usually have two cups so there is two scoops. Snack, string cheese and a clementine, lunch usually a salad with ceaser dressing, cherry tomatoes, shredded cheese and turkey lunchmeat. Snack been having little Debbie star crunch (yikes), supper whatever I make for the family. Tonight we had chili dogs but I didn't have the bread, just hot dog, cheese and chili. Snack, cranberry trail mix. Some days I have two little Debbie star crunches. Ugh. Sometimes sugar is my weakness. I have been walking 3.5 miles a few times a week. -

Wow. Thanks! I just looked at my muscle milk protein powder and there is 9g carbs in each scoop and I have 2 scoops every morning. Maybe I should skip that!!! That is 18g first thing in the morning. Yikes -
