I'm having trouble getting my protein. I can maybe stomach 12 ounces of protein shake in a day. Maybe two bottles of water... I just took my vitamins, which are chewable, and the chewing was making me extremely nauseous. I'm not in any pain- just worried I'm not taking in enough. Am I normal? Lol

Good to hear. Today was my first day feeling nauseous... Not a fun feeling.

Banded this morning and in quite a bit of incision pain. A hernia was found so they said that's why. No gas pain though... yet!! Good luck.

Less Than A Week To Go

I get banded on the 26th! I am very excited. Down 18 pounds on my pre-op diet... Good luck to everyone and God bless. -
I am getting banded on 9-26 and seem to be getting pretty nervous. A lot of people are talking about their horrible experiences with the band. I guess I just need some reassurance that this tool does work... I am paying quite a bit of money and would like to know that it's going towards a tool that could better my life. Oh man! I hate nerves! Lol

Thank you much. That's appreciated.

Trust me, I do read the success stories. Have been for months and I'm so excited to start the journey... But I don't think it hurts to read the other side as well. It's called being knowledgable and I think that's a main reason so many are successful- because they have all the facts. Of course I'm confident in my doctor and his staff or I would never agree to him doing the surgery. And reassurance isn't a bad thing- I think many need someone to just tell them it's all going to be ok or that they support them. At least I do... I hardly think I'm a minority on this.

I think it's more like- bands slipping, living with the tightness, the vomiting that some have... The recovery. I have never had surgery. I guess fear of the unknown is getting the best of me.

Hello- this is my first post on this forum. My surgery date is set for September 26. I am so happily overwhelmed for this new lifestyle choice I have chosen. I live in Oklahoma but my surgeon is in Texas so that is where I will be traveling for everything. My first doctor visit was June 12, 2012, and the following week on the 21st I had my meeting with the nutritionist and the psychologist. My next doctor visit was the middle of July. September 10, 2012 I received my approval from my insurance company and surgery was immediately scheduled. Did I mention how excited I was? My husband and family are beyond supportive and that makes this so much easier. All I know is that- I refuse to be the mother who tells her daughter know because I am too overweight to walk. She and I deserve so much more out of me, but enough with that! Good luck to everyone and God bless.

I have Anthem BCBS through my husband's employer- Goodyear. From the time they received the information to approving the surgery was about 6 days. I did not have to do a supervised diet. My requirements were to see a nutritionist and also a psychologist. Perhaps all Anthem BCBS plans are different- I'm not sure. Was a pain free process for me, especially since my doctor's office knew exactly what to submit to get the approval. Hope this helps you out! Good luck!
