What Does Having The Lapband Feel Like?
Threetimesacharm replied to SinCityGal's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I comment that I have is that make sure that you want to deal with the filling and de-filling for ever. With other weight losss surgeries this is not an issue, I have had mine for a long time and if I knew then what I know now I would opt for the sleeve, no fills, no constant changes in what you can eat, and you may always be restricted to eat certain foods. -
For Anyone Debating To Convert To Sleeve

Actually slow weight loss is more like 1-2 pounds per week. 3-5 pounds would be considered fast. -
Old-Timers (3+ Years Banded) Recommitting To The Bandster Lifestyle
Threetimesacharm replied to lellow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Have you thought about having another permanent type of bariactric surgery instead, say the sleeve. Since this is a permanent surgery you would not have to worry in the future of having any issues that we do/may have with the lapband. As a longtimer, I know I would seriously consider an alternative if I had issues with my band and it had to be removed. -

Why Does Weight Loss Surgery Fail?
Threetimesacharm replied to Jean McMillan's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
Jean you certainly have a gift for writing. Your articles are engaging and provide insight, humour and a down to earth approach on things we need to hear. Thank you for your post, you are an inspiration!! -
I hate to admit it but I am going to, if I had known that I could eat the slider foods, chips, ice cream, and feel no restriction I probably would not have gotten the surgery. Those are the foods that made me fat in the first place. Had I known I may have gone with an alternative surgery. But the surgeon got my money and on he goes............

Do Lap Banders, really need BREAKFAST?
Threetimesacharm replied to Helen Bauzon's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Magazine
I agree with everyone, my doctors information states to eat only when hungry so if first thing in the morning you are not, don't eat. I too usually eat about 3 hours after I awake but depending on my schedule I might eat earlier. -

yes it is a word, it is slang......................sayin(g or ' ) Regards to you!! -
Since you have not been banded yet, you have no idea what to eat and what works. I have many years under my belt and can offer a wealth of do's and don'ts. You should really take the information for what it is, helpful. You might think differently once you are banded..........................good luck to YOU!!

I agree with all of the posts. How much fill did you get? It does sound like you may be too full. A slight de-fill will make all of the difference, trust me I have been there and done that. Some foods though are tricky, tuna for instance and maybe the mushy beans like the donut can ball up and will definitely get stuck. Everyone is different as to what they can eat so be careful, but go to your doc for a de-fill.

I am actually in Windsor, Ontario but am looking for anyone who would like to start up a support group in our area. I have not found anyone on this side of the boarder but I hoped there were others right across the river who would be interested. Please let me know of your location and maybe we can set up a coffee group to meet in person and support one another. Donna

Finally, Got Stuck And So Happy!
Threetimesacharm replied to shortishelli's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Why are you taking large bites and eating potatoes? The expression stuck is because what you just ate can not go from your small stomach through the band area into the large stomach. Drinking will/can only make it worse. Be careful you should not force the food down it should really come back up. Maybe you should review your information received from your doctors office so you don't harm yourself.......good luck -
You may want to nix the beans and macaroni not really part of the diet for us. Adding a ground meat would be nice.

5.5Cc Fill....wondering What Now?
Threetimesacharm replied to VelmaDinkley's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You should be eating 1 cup of solid food at each meal three times a day. Stop eating when you feel full don't eat if you are not hungry. Eat your protein first. -
Full, Yet Hungry?
Threetimesacharm replied to Fat_Librarian's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree with lillib you should be only on liquids not shakes. Milk, juice, protein water..... Revisit your eating plan or contact your surgeons office for clarification, you don't want to harm yourself after surgery.... -

Threetimesacharm replied to michelle626's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hmm, so you are saying you have lost 20 pounds and weigh 160? How tall are you? Are you near your goal weight. If you are eating your one cup of food three times a day, drinking your water, when are you getting hungry? What/when are you getting stuck? These answers may help you, please post. -
Seven Days To My "new Life"
Threetimesacharm replied to Edan Ren?'s topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Hey Rene good for you! I wish you all the best with your surgery! Please keep in touch here and let us know how it goes and if you need any help!! God Bless! -
I too have tried this in an injection form(I'm in Canada) anyway before you decide read the book "pounds and inches" by Dr Simeon he is the Italian founder of the HCG die(you can google and read online)t. It is too hard to explain but the hormone increases your metabolism while stopping hunger and you do get a fantastic weight loss, normally 30 pounds in 30 days. You are not supposed to follow for more than 40 days and the food selection is very limited. Would I do it again maybe but I was very weak, hungry at times, moody and unable to function so if you don't have the time to commit to it it would be very hard, but as you know everyone is different.
