  1. I just had my revision on the 10th and it too is the best decision I have made. For you, I guess it matters why you had so many issues with the band: did you eat too much, too many wrong foods, grazing all day. Many factors can contribute to the failure of the band. If you did everything you were supposed to 100% I say go for it. Remember that the sleeve is also just a tool and it is a really big life changing committment to make it work. Good luck in your decision.

    Lapbandtalk.com

Wow great post! I just had my revision on September 10 and it is the best thing that I could have done. I started out at lapbandtalk and it brought me here. I only found out about the sleeve three weeks before surgery. I knew that the lapband is not "forever' that eventually I would have to get it removed. So before I had any complications I did so but it turned out I had a small hernia, so glad I had it. I did maintain a 60 pound weight loss but that was not my goal weight. It is so true that because you literally can't eat healthy foods like proteins and veggies you start to eat all of the soft, unhealthy foods and it is a vicious cycle. Like lapband is not for everyone neither is the sleeve but I am so happy to have my $16,000.00 lapband now as a souvenir!!

Whey Liquid Protein Shots - Which Are Best

Hey butterbean could you please explain? I was thinking of getting some of these too. Why is this way useless to us. I thought that we should be consuming whey protein and not others. thanks

4 Months Post-Op And Experiencing Pain

Doesn't sound like it has anything to do with your sleeve. Your doctor will be able to assist you.
  6. You are lucky that you did not injure yourself. Be careful.

    is your pouch to big???

I agree here with this poster. It is your stomach just smaller. FYI there is only a millimeter difference in the size of sleeves. It would not make a huge difference in the amount you can eat. Be careful of what you are eating, how much, and use an on line tracker for this. You may be surprised how much food you are actually consuming
  8. Congratulations, how wonderful it must feel, you deserve it!

Please Help Me With My Hair Lost

My surgeon has prescribed me to take biotin. It is proven to stop hair loss. You have nothing to lose but hair if you take it. I have just started and I had surgery last monday.

    How Painful?

Are you asking about the band removal? I saw the tag. I had a revision on the 10th and there is no real pain more discomfort. I have swelling and the pain where they removed the port, lots of trauma to my fat and skin I guess. No worries you will do fine.

I Cant Stop Burping When I Sip Water

I Started My Period Two Days Before Surgery - Is This Okay?

I just had my surgery on the 10th and I too had my period. It was very light so I did not tell anyone or use a tampon. My surgeon did not allow underwear. Remember you are only out for about 2 hours and then you can get up and fix yourself up. I have had another surgery in the past and told them, after they were finished with my surgery they put a pad on me. Tell the nurse and they will advise what is best to do. I am sure they see this all the time, no worries!

    Confused Dr In Mexico

I just had surgery with DR Garcia on the 10th. He is an amazingly skilled doctor you won't be disappointed.
  17. I disagree it is MORE likely because our bodies are not taking in hardly any nutrients. Wait to you have your surgery...................you will see.

    Birth Control Pills

Wasn't sure where to put this but I thought "pill" section would be okay. Did anyone take BCP's right after surgery? You have to take one a day so I am worried that I won't be able to swallow one the day after surgery.
  19. I agree lots of liquids and sip all of the time. I don't start protein drinks until one week out.

    When Will The Gurgling Stop?

You only had your surgery on wednesday you are not expected to get all the protein in. I don't start my shakes until tuesday and I had the surgery on monday two days before you. My tummy is gurgling too, remember it is healing. Don't rush the food, your tummy has gone through a major trauma and needs to heal take it slow.

Finally Able To Tell My Story

Wow sounds like you had a horrible experience. I went to Tijuana Mexico and it was the most wonderful, great experience. From the amazing Doctor, caring nurses, all the people I met. I wouldn't have done it any other way. Something to be said about Mexican health care. I hope that you are doing better day by day. It is day 6 for me and everyday gets better. You now have what I call a "Tiny Tummy" take care of it.

    Cost Of Band To Vsg?

I was very afraid of Mexico too. But after reading all of the great information at this site I had a revision(band to sleeve) on Monday September 10. I went with Dr. Garcia in Tijuana Mexico for $5500.00 which include a endoscopy for $300.00. So if you didn't need that then $5200.00. I still can't believe that I have had it done! It was fantastic the Dr. is amazing, no gas pain, no real pain, a really great surgery experience!
