What Did You Take With You To Mexico?
Threetimesacharm replied to Lollyx3's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I actually packed too light. Make sure you bring light jackets for the evenings as it gets cool, sundresses for the day, sweaters to wear over them. You do need an outfit or two every day. Comfortable shoes, Ipad, books, things to keep you occupied. -
Gaining Weight Unbelievable!
Threetimesacharm posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I had my surgery on September 10th. I gained 7 pounds during surgery and it took me a week to get it off. I then proceeded to lose another 14 pounds over the next two weeks. This brought my total pre and post to 30 pounds, so at this point I am very happy! So then my weight loss starts to slow down, no big deal right, I have read alot about stalls so I am prepared. So I start into a stall but then the unbelievable happens, I START TO GAIN WEIGHT, I am doing everything the same food, exercise, water I have just started into soft foods. As you can imagine I am dumbfounded. The only thing I can think is I have started back on BC pills. Has anyone experienced this? I know, I know the weight will come off but I feel so defeated already. Can anyone help me through this? Thank you for your support -
I Dont Want To Lose My Hair!
Threetimesacharm replied to suzjag's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
make sure to take "Biotin" everyday. I actually have fine hair and it seems that my hair is getting thicker. Some say it works others don't. It doesn't hurt to try it because if it helps will only benefit you. -
"normal Life" Down The Road?
Threetimesacharm replied to Getting There's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
i just want to say that in the beginning success with the sleeve IS to weigh and measure your food. I think the eye can be tricky and you may try to consume more than you should. As time goes on and you have lost most of your weight maybe only then you you be lax on this point. They also say that as time goes on you are able to eat more, all the more reason to weigh your food. Enjoy your travels during weight loss and the rest of your life!! -
How To Make This Decision?
Threetimesacharm replied to DebH's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my revision on September 10th. Besides all of the weight loss issues you have, I do believe that the band is NOT forever and sooner or later you will have to get it removed. So what would you do? I will bet that without the band you will have a significant increase in hunger and most likely food intake. I say go with the sleeve, remove your band(keep for a souvenir) and see what happens with the sleeve, all you have to lose is weight! -
New Her! I Choose Lapband My Dr. Choice Is The Sleeve

Are you getting your surgery October 2012? Are you then with the sleeve because your doctor has suggested it? Not quite sure on your post. -
Stall Solution?
Threetimesacharm replied to madintx's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
By my calculations you have lost 55 pounds? Is this right? How can you say, "AND THAT IS IT". That is an amazing amount of weight to lose. Don't down play your success. You must be very happy to be in a 16 and shopping in any store you like. Be happy where you are at and don't stress about it, you will lose the weight! -
Not Telling Anyone
Threetimesacharm replied to PetraLuxor's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I went to Mexico by myself and did not tell a single soul. I still have not told anyone about my surgery and I don't think that I ever will. It really is none of anyones business how little I eat or how MUCH they eat!! -
Official Stall Thread- When Did You Hit Your First Stall And How Long Did It Last?
Threetimesacharm replied to NJSleeveboy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am just coming out of a week stall that happened just over 3 weeks and I actually gained 3 pounds. Could be related to TOM not sure but this morning dropped 2.2 pounds. Whew, very happy about that but stalls can be very disheartening especially when you are doing everything right. -
Has Anyone Who Was Revised From Band To Sleeve Not Been Successful?
Threetimesacharm replied to soocalchic's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have had a wonderful transition from band to sleeve. The benefits of being banded first are great: knowing when full, eating small portions, eating slowly and there are foods that I haven't eaten much of in 5 years; pork, beef, soft breads. I have lost so far pre-post op, 33 days 30 pounds which includes a week long stall/gain(TOM related I think). So I think if you follow your diet plan, exercise the weight will come off but each person is very different when it comes to speed. Know that you are heading in the right direction with every great day that you have. I LOVE the sleeve I can now eat chicken/tuna and not worry about vomiting. The sleeve is 1000 times better than the band. -

Big Stall... Hate This
Threetimesacharm replied to Robyn Owens-Miille's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Firstly I would like to congratulate you on your 75 pound weight loss, amazing!! I know exactly how you feel and I am only 32 days out and am on a big stall and have even gained weight. Think of how fantastic you look, your milestones that you have achieved(smaller sizes, feel great). If the weight is meant to come off it will. As someone said to me this is a marathon not a race, so don't attach a time limit to it. You have been very successful and you will lose the weight, hang in there!! -

It's That Simple, Yeah Right

What do you mean by starches? They are carbs. Are you reffering to potatoes, rice, pasta, winter squash? Veggies and beans also have carbs. -
Things I Miss ---But No Longer Can Tolerate.
Threetimesacharm replied to elisa's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The food phases go like this: liquids then FULL liquids-cream soups, cream of wheat, jello, pudding then pureed-tuna, canned meats, soft luncheon meats, egg salad, cottage cheese then soft-same as above but not pureed and chicken, ground meats then all foods it is important not to miss a step as you are helping your new stomach digest the new phases of foods. Going too quickly can cause you harm, it is not worth the risk taken. -

You might consider adding some other fruit than banana which is very high in sugar, carbs. How about berries: strawberries, blueberries, raspberries. -

I'm Gaining Weight 2 Weeks In?!?!
Threetimesacharm replied to Kelly123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well you asked for help but it doesn't sound like you want to hear it. Unless you seriously track your food you will have no idea how many protein/carb you are really consuming. I too think you shouldn't be having bread at all. Just protein and veggies if you have room. Bread is your enemy at this point. Good Luck.
