Just Got Back From Surgery With Dr.fernando Garcia
Threetimesacharm replied to Myweightlostjourney's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
My surgery was Sept 10th. I have yet to have a phone call; just a generic email where my full name was inserted into the body, how impersonal. The only reason I got an email from the Dr was prompted by me on two occasions. They(ready4achange) in my opinion do NO follow up. -
Is Popcorn Ok Post Op Down The Line?
Threetimesacharm replied to moonrisen's topic in Food and Nutrition
What does your NUT say? On mushee you can have mashed potatoes. Most say don't eat pasta for 6 months. -
Advancing Post Op Diet Too Quickly?
Threetimesacharm replied to zack515's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I am on soft foods, 40 days out, and I can't say that I am hungry. If I am eating food and not shake I am really full for a long time essdecially with chicken. I eat 2 ounces at a time and it keeps me full for at least 4 hours. -
Lap Band Removal Revision To Sleeve. :)
Threetimesacharm replied to MCD's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I am confused? So you had your revision? If so make sure you are eating very little sips/bites of food and eat slowly. Make sure you are not eating too much. I am 40 days out and have 4 ounces of shake or 2 ounces of chicken at a time. I had my revision on September 10th and couldn't be happier! -
Old Ways Omg
Threetimesacharm replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Newgrandmother I think you are missing the point of the surgery; NOT to feel hungry. Our reasons for eating 5-6 small meals a day is not the same for the non WLS patient. You should not be feeling more hungry. If you are feeling so much hunger it must be head hunger for you. -
I Ate Solid Food!
Threetimesacharm replied to smhagood's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You will probably be fine but why risk it? You could have caused major harm to your stomach, it is just not ready yet to digest ham. Take it easy, slow down, you will be able to eat ham in no time, don't rush it. -

Choosing A Goal Weight
Threetimesacharm replied to mwrarr's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I am 5'10" also and had a goal of 180 pounds. I can only ever remember being 190 and thought I looked good. I like your idea of making it to the normal range. This morning I weighed in at 236.6. I am not close yet but maybe I will be able to revise my goal weight like you!! -

The Newbie From Canada.
Threetimesacharm replied to Lifechanging<3's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
just a quick post to say that I am in Ontario, went to Mexico in Septmeber 10th and got the sleeve with DR. Garcia. He is absolutely an amazingly skilled surgeon and you would not regret going with him. If you are really ready for this surgery, I then say don't wait, book your surgery. It will be the best decision for you too! I went by myself and they will look after you. Don't you worry you will be fine!! Best of luck with your decision, I am sure you will make the right one for you. -
How Many People Eat How Their Nutritionists Want?
Threetimesacharm replied to pandabear's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Okay so plain greek yogurt 0% fat has very little sugar. I suggest checking it out in the grocery store and bring her the information that you find. Plain instant oatmeal also not bad but maybe steel cut is better but you have to be able to eat what you like. -
Why Can't They Just All Agree?
Threetimesacharm replied to Getting There's topic in Food and Nutrition
Just a thought about the dehydration question; all foods have a water component to them. So when you are eating alot of food you are also getting in water. -
4 Weeks Post Op Hard Time Getting Food In
Threetimesacharm replied to Lloydthumper's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Lloyd make sure that your chicken is soft. I am eaing thighs and cook them in the slower cooker. I then kind of make a "pulled chicken". After you measure out your 2 ounces of chicken make sure you eat very slowly, just a little on your fork and chew well, you shouldn't have any problems. I use miralax for constipation or you might try Milk of Magnesia as it normally works very quickly for me. -
Taking Capsules After Surgery
Threetimesacharm replied to Nikki_1985's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My antibiotic right after surgery actually was a capsule. At first I hesitated when taking it but thought, my surgeon said it is okay, so I took one with a small sip of water and it went down no problem!! I was amazed. I don't think that it will hurt you at all. -

5 Weeks Out Today And Really Concerned :(
Threetimesacharm replied to Carly4HandinSD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 39 days out. I am just coming off a 10 days stall where I gained 2 pounds. The most calories that I can take in is 750 but normally I sit around 600-700 calories. Make sure as others have posted that you are drinking your 64 ounces or more of water. I am vigilant to make sure I get this amount in daily or more. Your stall will break I really feel your pain. I also lost really quickly weeks two and three, 21 pounds, I will bet this is why I went into a stall too. -
Sleeve Vs Bypass
Threetimesacharm replied to Onesassychick79's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
One of my WL surgeons actually had the bypass. The reason why she went with this surgery is that she is addicted to sugar and one of the things you can't do with the bypass is eat sugar as it will make you violently ill. She was not a large woman at all but felt for her this was the way to go. -
Losing Too Much?
Threetimesacharm replied to Mom2IrishTwins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hmm I don't know I think the majority of doc's say 6 months out for bread. Crackers are different if you choose to eat them. Most do low or very low carb diets to make the most of the first 6 months, good luck to you -
Losing Too Much?
Threetimesacharm replied to Mom2IrishTwins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Wow 35 grams of protein a day is not alot. I guess each Doc is different but I need to consume at least 60 grams a day to help prevent hair loss, muscle loss, damage to vital organs. I too have two snacks a day but at each meal I have two ounces of protein; same for my snacks. -
Learn From My Mistake! Lost Money (Mexico Surgery--Quinones)
Threetimesacharm replied to gettingback2me's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just a quick comment to "opinions are derived probably more so on staff than skill", really? The surgeons skill is 1000% times more important than his staff or coordinators to me. If you have had the surgery I am sure that you would agree. -
Make sure that you are getting in at least 60 grams of protein. It is very important for body function.

New Way The "girls" Look...
Threetimesacharm replied to Pookeyism's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You might want to try the "Genie Bra" they are fantastic, comfortable, will fit however you are shaped and very reasonable, just google Genie Bra. Hint: if you are larger busted when ordering go up a size so you wont be so squished in. I just had to go down a size and have size 2X if anyone is interested. -
