When Will I Not Be Hungry?

To add to this I think that because I had a lapband revision to sleeve I had learned how small portions keep you full and the difference between real hunger and not. Please understand that I speak as a former fat person too. It is very hard to go from a large quantity eater to eating only two ounces, knowing that you are full and then having to understand that you DON"T need more food in two hours. I think the work "starving" is a little strong here, are you really starving? People living in third world countries are starving. I think we are so focused in the beginning on food that yes it is very difficult for some to differentiate between the two. It's not hunger. If anyone would care to answer: what is your hunger queue? My stomach makes noises, but it is not hunger just gurgling noises, not hunger.

    Weekly Miralax Date

If you really can't go take milk of magnesia, I take three ounces with a big glass of water; within 3-4 hours you will go, stay close to the bathroom!

    Tummy Tuck After A Year?

Don't listen to everything that you hear. I have had a tummy tuck and it is not painful. Removal of skin is not as painful as cutting through muscle. The results are amazing so if you get it covered I say go for it! I am sure that you can get pregnant but really shouldn't right after, or close to, your surgery. I gained weight after my surgery and no problems with the skin stretching and now back down again.

    Weekly Miralax Date

I have most recently been taking a version of smooth move tea. It has senna in it. It does seem to give me some discomfort in my intestines. I was considering just using some stool softeners and seeing if they will work. I was taking miralax but it did not seem to work for me.

Hi- New To This Site- Really Depressed

Just an FYI for you. Don't be afraid to go to Mexico. I did in September and I went with Dr Garcia in Tijuana. He is the most amazingly, talented, skilled surgeon. I actually had a revision, it went fantastic and I had no issues no real pain or gas or complications. The price is fantastic and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Anyone Else Have A Goal Size?

Well right now I weigh 221 pounds, wear a size 14 and am 5'10". So I know that sizes have increased over the years and the last time I was under 200 pounds was a long, long time ago. So my goal weight is 180 pounds and I hope to be in a size 10, maybe................ a size 8!! We will see.

    Help

You shouldn't be having pineapple juice. During liquid stage the only juice you should have is diluted unsweetened apple juice. Good Luck

    Afraid To Eat?

You will be weak in the beginning. I think it took me about three weeks to start feeling better. Once you start the pureed stage with real foods it will get better.

One Thing You Wish You Knew...

I went to Mexico so the one thing I did not bring was gauze covers/tape for incisions: I needed it. Oh also antibiotic ointment. One thing that it is hard really to tell in advance is that I beleive every patent progresses at their own pace: don't rush it, if you try the next phase and it doesn't feel good stay were you are. I found I "Knew" when my body was ready for the next phase. I am in no rush for solid(all) foods, I have the rest of my life to eat everything I choose.
  14. I had my revision on September 10th. The great thing is you actually CAN eat food. You know what I mean chicken, meats, yogurt. All of these foods I had trouble with the band some days I could some days I couldn't. I don't miss that at all. I can actually also swallow pills, I couldn't do that with the band. The great benefit of having the band first is you already know what full is(upper part of chest), you can eat small portions slowly. Even though I am not far out I have not vomited, I know when I am full and stop eating. There are already so many foods that I wasn't eating because of the band that I don't miss any. I have no cravings, no hunger, following the plan to a "T". I love the sleeve and am 110% sure that I did the right thing. No worries.
  15. Yes I did it was very light. Surgery is only one hour plus recovery so you are back in your room in no time to fix yourself up. No worries!

    Costa Rica

I had my surgery in September in Tijuana Mexico and it was very, very, very safe. Don't listen to all the bad that you hear. Some of the other patients went sight seeing, shopping, walked to walmart and had no problems at all. Go to Mexico you will be fine!
  17. I was still on full fluids my first two weeks. You have to make sure you are sipping water all day, are you getting in your 64 ounces? I was not to be so concerned with protein at this stage. I also had a variety of soups, shakes, water, yogurt.

    How Often Do You Stall?

Comment to the other reply: stalls have nothing to do with how often you weight yourself, how silly. I have only had one stall and it was after a big weight loss right in the beginning. Don't worry OP your body will adjust and then start losing again. I will say a prayer that you reach Onederland by your birthday!! It will happen.

    I Dont Like Food Anymore

It sounds to me like you are looking for your old life back. The days of wendy's burgers and fries should be over. Start working your sleeve and looking at new things to do instead of focusing on food: new hobbies, exercise, friendships. You got this surgery to help you so please work it for all that it is intended. Best wishes to you.
  20. Thank you for sharing your story it was so enjoyable to read. I too had a revision on September 10th and it was the best decision I could have made. I had my band for 5 years but new it would not be forever. I love my sleeve and my new journey of weight loss.

    Shrimp! Who Would Have Thought!

All fish is high in protein and low in calories, you can't go wrong!
  22. Well Bryan Whitson I don't think that there is any halfway. It will be all the way with the sleeve or nothing. The halfway point to me sounds like a "diet plan" that will restrict your calories but won't be extreme. Maybe try a diet first: weight watchers, jenny craig, nutrisystem, something that can get you regulated to eat less and see how you do. This sleeve journey is not an easy road, or for everyone. This doesn't mean it's not for you but maybe take a slower approach and see if you can handle it then progress on.
