Threetimesacharm replied to ArcusX's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A

You won't be in a room with another patient. These rooms are for patients who have a travel mate. I had a single bed in a private room. -
Revision Or Not? Need Advice!
Threetimesacharm replied to Nicole Sikes's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Nicole in my opinion I don't think that you will have the esophogus issues with the sleeve. There will be a smooth transition from esophogus to stomach, just your stomach will be smaller. There won't be anything restricting your food, as in the band, for the food to get stick, or go back up into the esophogus. Getting the sleeve will be the best decision you can make. I am now 45 pounds under my lowest band weight, I can eat chicken, yogurt, meats now all things that I had trouble with the band. It is a blessing that this surgery is available, I am thrilled! -
Help Needed - Eating At Night
Threetimesacharm replied to Chicago1962's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Is it maybe because the weather is changing? You mentioned that it is just in the last few weeks. What did you do before in the evenings? I know this sounds strange but do a bit of analysis of past habits. I know for me evenings is also a time to munch, or eat. I have tried an acid reducer which works and also, try to keep busy at home. Sometimes a hot beverage fills me up and takes away the desire to eat something. Congratulations by the way on your weight loss it is phenominal!! -
Tomatoes Soup
Threetimesacharm replied to stokesmommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also consumed tomato soup during the first few weeks of full liquids. It was delicious. I don't think that the canned varieties carry so much acid. I had no issues. -

Musings: "the Rules" Are All Over The Place
Threetimesacharm replied to DanaInNewOrleans's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well until you are on the table the doctor won't know how your liver is. It is best to err on the side of caution and do a low carb pre-op diet. I only had to do a week, did nine days, and my doc did not need to make the extra, "hole" to use the liver lifter...............what a good thing! -

Lapband Is Finally Coming Out!
Threetimesacharm commented on cadezma77's blog entry in cadezma77's Blog
So here I am speaking from the horses mouth..................I had my revision with Dr Garcia September 10th. He only charged me $500.00 to take out the band. IMO it would be the best decision to do it in one surgery. I had a small stomach hernia and he fixed it also for free. I had no complications and had the band for 5 years. There is nothing to "heal" if you have no issues with your band, don't risk the weight gain by doing two surgeries. You could probably have your surgery this year and be well on your way by cruise time. -
Congratulations, you deserve it!! Right behind you on the way to "Onederland".

Will This Actually Work?
Threetimesacharm replied to froma2toa1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Your body needs a set number of calories just to function, for example 1500 calories. You don't need to "burn off the calories you eat". We are already at a deficit eating 500-800 calories a day. Go for a walk and keep doing what you are doing, the weight will come off. Trust me I have been there too. -

I don't recommend eating fruits; too high in carbs. Eat protein for breakfast. Are you gettin in 60-80 grams of carbs per day? -

Wow - 300 Plus Calorie Protein Shake Breakfast
Threetimesacharm replied to suejersey's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Not sure how far out you are but I wouldn't be using the banana. You really don't need the extra calories and the shake is filling enough. Try using only one cup of almond milk. Soy milk has alot more protein so you may want to try it, in shake form you don't taste "soy".
