Am I Imagining Thigs?
Threetimesacharm replied to amytug's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I don't think that you can really look at the surgeon to see how fast/slow you will lose, I don't think it has anything to do with it. Now for Mexico it can be because patients are/not following their food plans correctly. I guess you can look at bougie size as it seems all Mexican doctors use 32F. I had Dr Garcia and in my third month lost 16 pounds(November) and I only have 25 more to go. Dr Garcia provides stockings for surgery and you have a private room. He is an amazingly skilled surgeon you won't go wrong chosing him. Best of Luck! -
Wth Is Wrong With Me...? Lolbvs
Threetimesacharm replied to deltatrans44's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Make sure you drink enough water. The more you drink the more you will release. I find it odd that you have not lost more. How many calories are you consuming? Try to stay around 500-700 calories eat only protein and take your vitamins. Don't worry about exercise, you will lose weight regardless. -

Revisionista Alert - Long Term Results
Threetimesacharm replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
Just want to say this is just in her practice. You are right we all need to follow the rules to be successful. Just because I know what slider foods are it doesn't mean that I have to eat them. Actually for me it is quite the opposite. For 5 years not being able to eat chicken, yogurt veggies I am now so thrilled to be eating normally I want to contine this way for a very, very long time. Good to know though, good to know. -
Try to cook your chicken in the crock pot, it will be very moist and delicious. I am 11 weeks out and have not attempted pork or beef they are both very tough and even with chewing may not go down. I had chewed on some veal and it just wouldn't break down so I just spit it out might try again when I am further out. Try soft fishes and take small bites and chew well: tuna, haddock, tilapia, sole.

Am I A Candidate For Vsg - Brutal Honest Feedback Needed
Threetimesacharm replied to chaya's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Regardless of what anyone thinks or says, "are you ready"? Ready to adopt a healthy eating plan for life Ready for the reduction in the stomach size(not longer able to eat large quantities and certain foods) this is a biggy Ready to take your vitamins(pills) daily, of course some can be found in liquid form Ready to eat Protein with only a little veggie. Ready to possibly give up Pasta, rice and potatoes forever There are probably lots I have missed but give it some consideration regardless of any health issues you have. I believe yes that you issues would be lessened if not removed with the surgery. It sure is worth it for me! -

Week 34 And 35 (Little Over 8 Months Out - 54.6 Lbs Down)
Threetimesacharm commented on mrsteacher's blog entry in Sleeved by Dr. Kelly in Mexico
From reading your post it appears to me that you are no longer interested in losing any more weight. Is that right? You eating plan that you list is not for someone who wants to lose weight; chips, french dip, cookie? Really? If you truly want this you need to get back on track. Your calories are way to high almonds also are very high in calories. Basics: Eat protein with a little veggie Measure/weigh out your food None to little carbs No snacking Good Luck! -
Acid Reflux...tips To Avoid And Conquer

Not sure where you got this list from but they do not all apply to people with VSG. For example: gum chewing, sugar water and some vegetables. -
What Are Your Thoughts About Healthy Frozen Meals?
Threetimesacharm replied to TheNEWME!'s topic in Food and Nutrition
Well I can't really see anything wrong with them. They tend to be high in carbs so this would be a detriment for me. I stick to protein with only a little veggie. -
What Makes Wls Different From Other Diets?
Threetimesacharm replied to carrieann70's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The biggest point here I would like to stress is that you have the inability to ever eat large amounts of food again. You also get very full on very small amounts of food. Now I am not at my goal weight but I do assume that in the months to come they say you can eat more(yes like 1/4 - 1/2 cup more). This is the magnificent tool to help you reduce your food intake for life and help you shed those pounds. Totally not doable in my opinion without it. I will always be thankful for what the sleeve has enabled me to do. -
Acceptable Weight Loss
Threetimesacharm replied to Colunga65's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What was your starting weight? How much do you have to lose? Did you retain fluids after surgery? These factors may come to play when she said you had not lost enough. -
Trying To Stop Losing Weight!
Threetimesacharm replied to robbie_rotten's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hey Robbie, I really thank you for this post. I have thought that at some point this could be a problem for some. As last poster said how about high calorie protein drinks, high calorie nuts, high calorie cheese. If you truly can not eat more than this would definitely be of concern. Don't listen to those bashing you I think that they are jealous!! I hope that your weight stabilizes soon...............start drinking those milkshakes!! Oh and congratulations on your weight loss, a 40 BMI is definitely a candidate, never second guess the surgery. -
Has Anyone Ever "failed" At This?
Threetimesacharm replied to Mckate's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Is your question about failing or stalling? Stalling - there are a gazillion posts on here about why/when and how. Failing - I am positive that there are people failing, but I bet they are not posting on here. -

Wondering About Body Parts Sagging.
Threetimesacharm replied to Ladylaurarose's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To the OP question Yes the girly parts can be saggy. I guess it depends on how much fat you have in that area. I actually had mine "lifted" after a previous weight loss. Now I find that the girly parts now are more loose and flabby if you know what I mean, but it does seem like some of the fat is shrinking from this area. I still have some weight to lose so hopefully it will continue to improve. I do notice too that my fat is squishy, I think as the fat goes the skin is trying to shrink up to keep up but in the interim your fat is a little squishy, this too I hope will improve. I still will be going for a thigh/arm lift they have no hope at this point. -
Yes he does have a pre-op diet to follow. Just ask your co-ordinator and she will guide you as to when to start. All the best!! See you on the losers bench!!

Now I had my surgery in Tijuana and had it booked in three weeks. The absolute best thing I could have done. So, in asking me, I say, if you can afford Mexico go, you will not regret it.

Clothes Shopping - Makes Me Panic
Threetimesacharm replied to MacSleever's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well start with the bigger size. When you see it is too big go down one size at a time until you reach the size that is comfortably tight(you want to be able to wear it for a while). I love shopping and seeing that I can wear much smaller sizes is wonderful!! To me it sounds like you don't want to see what your new body will look like in properly fitting clothes that will show you off so to speak. Just a thought. For some their weight is a suit of armor. -

What Average Weekly Inches Loss?
Threetimesacharm replied to sleeve_sister's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I don't think that you can put an average on it. What is your total weight loss? Some as they progress along will lose inches and not as much weight, looks like this may have happened to you. -
There are so many things you can do besides eating and drinking: go bowling go to the movies go on a hike go for a walk go to a museum go shopping go to a quant village and window shop then stop for a tea or coffee go skiing(in winter) go biking(in summer) go to the beach oh my gosh the list goes on!!!! You don't want to pass this guy up...............he may be the one!!

Cheddar Cheese Help
Threetimesacharm replied to MrsM's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well being two weeks out it is understandable that you can not eat an entire egg. As far as cheese goes I don't really look at low fat/high fat/ no fat. I do consume laughing cow light(these are delicious), and a light Jarlsberg that I like but for all others cheddar, mozzarella I eat what I like. At 11 weeks I have lost 51 pounds!!
