When to tell new boyfriend I had Sleeve surgery?
Threetimesacharm replied to Pam2011's topic in The Gals' Room
Well this is a good question. I am single also and since losing weight have very loose skin. I will definitely have to disclose that I have lost weight BUT not necessarily the surgery. I think that I will play it as it happens; if he asks about my scars I guess I will have to spill it all............... -
Incission opened!? *warning* graphic pic ahead

If pus is coming out, it must be infected, definitely go see the doctor, not just call him. -
To measure weight or volume
Threetimesacharm replied to ArtSong's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do both too. It is a little hard to measure out a piece of chicken. If it is ground meat I normally measure, veggies I measure, fish I weigh(they come in 2 ounce filets). -

Three Unexpected Surprises Today!
Threetimesacharm replied to deedeemuffin's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
To the OP you mentioned that you have a puppy. Well your puppy needs to go for a walk EVERY day. You should put this into your daily routine: you need to bundle up and dress for the weather, it was 36 degrees where I live and I just bundle up and go!! You will start to enjoy it and your puppy will for sure too!! -

5 Months Out, 45Lbs Down
Threetimesacharm replied to audreyrn's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Look your weight loss is fantastic!! 45 pounds you will never see again!! Can you tell us what you are eating/how much now? Maybe you can tweek your menu a bit to get your weight loss moving faster. I really eat very low carb/high protein and stick to 600-700 calories a day. I walk alot, about 1 1/2 hours a day. I do agree that the first 6 months are the optimum weight loss time(from all that I have read) so for me I am trying to be very vigilant with my diet so that I CAN lose alot the first 6 months. -
NSV #1 - So I am at the dog park today walking with one of my male dog park friends. As we are walking, one moment we are talking away, the next moment I am on the ground!! I was knocked over from behind by a dog. Needless to say I was in shock and a little embarrassed, but here is the good part. My male friend offers me his had to help me up; the first thing running through my mind is OMG he is not going to be able to pull me up!! WELL pull me up he did, I actually felt "light" if you ladies know what I mean, he didn't have to grunt or bend over!! Thinking of this now it was an amazing moment, I haven't felt like a "light" woman in a very, very long time. NSV #2 - I was in the ladies clothes store purchasing some new clothes as I hardly have any left that fit me right. So at one point I was asking for a jacket on the wall that the saleslady had to take down for me. So she says to me," Well you must be a size 11 but may need a 13 for your broad shoulders". A SIZE 11!!!!!!!! OMG when have I ever been a size 11, well I can't really tell you how I felt: to be recognized as a "normal" size person and not an obese one. It is definitely one of the best weight loss moments of my life!!!!

Am I making the right choice?
Threetimesacharm replied to tessies's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
Please don't worry, I am just like you. Went to Dr Garcia in September for my revision. I was very worried like you he would not be able to do it. Let me tell you, you have picked the right surgeon. He did my surgery no problem and I was not sick, no gas, no pain. I went alone also they will look after you. There will be other patients there too, you will see them at the hotel. If you are booking tomorrow God is guiding you; he won't let you make the wrong decision! P.S. the benefit of having the band first is that you know what to do with your eating and drinking; I have had no vomiting, no sliming, no over-eating, the absolute best thing I could have done for myself. -

Gain 2 pounds and surgery on 12-12-12
Threetimesacharm replied to Breeg89's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2 pounds, I bet they won't do your surgery. -
The only thing that might happen is separation of the liquids. I have only heard this for veggies put through juicers as supposedly the vitamins somehow disipate if not consumed right away, who new?

Amen to that. Thank you for sharing your feelings. -
Wearing tight waistbands - causes sour stomach feelings or makes you feel like you have to dump. Has anyone else felt this way 6 weeks after surgery?
Threetimesacharm replied to FM4440's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
How tight are your pants? If you are larger your fat around your stomach can compress when you sit down making it uncomfortable. I suggest bigger pants. -
This is probably a dumb question...
Threetimesacharm replied to Huntingnurse's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
Happy New Year for you!! I haven't added splenda but I can't see why you couldn't. You will find though after surgery your tastes will change and some no longer have a liking for sweets. -
5 Confessions (Join In)
Threetimesacharm replied to ebthompson2010's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have yet to confess so here goes: - that I am so excited and joyful to be be losing weight and getting to a goal weight that I have never seen before(other than on my way up). - that I am deathly afraid and scared to be at this goal weight(or firstly under 200 pounds). - that I don't really know what this fear is except that what do I do when I get to goal - that I feel sad for other fat people that don't/can't have this surgery - that I am afraid of new relationships because to me I will always be the "fat" person that they really will never know. That's all for now.................................... -
Yes I have it everyday in my shake. I use it for the protein component, 8 grams in a cup. In the beginning the lactose free milk didn't agree with me; I have yet to try it again.

Oh fantastic, great NSV, keep at it!!

No hunger in the beginning?
Threetimesacharm replied to skinnyjenn's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am thirteen weeks today and like the other poster said it really is not a hunger, more of an empty I feel weak. There are times when I am busy there are no thoughts of food. You can go for very long because you really are not hungry, it is absolutely fantastic!! -
Sounds delish, you need to give us the recipe.
